ELECTROSYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF POLY(HYDROXY-METHYLATED-3,4-ETHYLENEDIOXYTHIOPHENE) FILM IN AQUEOUS MICELLAR SOLUTION AND ITS BIOSENSING APPLICATION

A new and efficient synthetic route to hydroxymethylated-3,4-ethylenedioxylthiophene （EDOT-MeOH） was developed by a simple four-step sequence, and its global yield was approximately 41.06%. The poly（hydroxymethylated- 3,4-ethylenedioxylthiophene）（PEDOT-MeOIq） film was electrosynthesized in aqueous sodium dodecylsulfate micellar solutions and characterized by different methods. The EDOT-MeOH possessed better water solubility, and lower onset oxidation potential than EDOT. The as-obtained PEDOT-MeOH film displayed good reversible redox activity, stability and capacitance properties in a monomer-free electrolyte, especially the good solubility of PEDOT-MeOH film in strong polar organic solvents such as dimethyl sulfoxide and tetrahydrofuran created a potential application in many different fields. Fluorescent spectra indicated that PEDOT-MeOH was a yellow-green-light-emitter with maximum emission at 568 rim. The as-formed PEDOT-MeOH film had good biocompatibility and was used for fabricating the electrochemical vitamin C biosensor. The proposed biosensor showed a linear range of 3× 10 ^6 mol/L to 1.2 × 10^-2 mol/L with the detection limit of 1 μmol/L, a sensitivity of 95.6 μA （mmol/L） ^-1 cm 2, and a current response time less than 10 s and a fairly good stability （The relative standard deviation was 0.43% for 20 successive assays, the proposed biosensor still retained 93.5% of bioactivity after 15 days storage. This result indicated that the prepared PEDOT-MeOH film as immobilization matrix of biologically-active species could be a promising candidate for the design and application of biosensor.

A lot of potential oscillations across oil_water interface ahve been designed by using various surfactant. and biological surfactant. in the aqueous phase and various amino acids or even polypeptides in the oil phase (nitrobenzene solution). Effects of the reactant’s concentration and the reaction temperature on the oscillating parameters have been studied. The oscillating mechanism has been discussed, and a model fo the oscillating mechanism has been proposed which is proved qualitatively reasonable according to the simulation.

The photosensitization effects of the benzophenone derivatives having different charges, such as cationic BP（BP—CH2—N+ （C2H5）3Br-）（PKT-1）, anionic BP（BP—COONa） and the neutral BP in the various ionic micellar systems were studied. From the photopolymerization of MMA initiated by the various BP/TEA in different micellar systems, the results obtained show that the polymerization rate is in the order of PKT-1>BP>BP—COONa in the SDS anionic micelle. On the contrary, the order changes to BP—COONa>BP>PKT-1 in the CTAB cationic mieelle, and to BP—COONa≈PKT-1>BP in the PKT-3 functional micelle. It is noteworthy that the PKT-1/SDS system is more efficient with its quantum yield more than 50 times compared with that of simple BP/H2O system.

Two-peak phenomena and formation origin in micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography

The formation origin of two peaks in micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography by using cetyltrimethylaminium bromide (or sodium dodecyl sulfate) as pseudo stationary phase is studied. It is pointed out that two peaks may appear for one component in certain conditions. Experiments show that the relative areas of the two peaks of the corresponding component depend on the time and temperature of reaction between the analyte and the surfactant. and the concentration of surfactant.in the sample solution. One of the two peaks increase with the increase of surfactant.concentration in the sample solution while reverse for another peak. Temperature can accelerate the reaction process. This means that the interaction between analyte and surfactant.is a slow process, and a stable substance can be produced from the interaction and leads to the formation of two peaks. The standpoint is confirmed by the infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of the product from the reaction between cetyltrimethylaminium bromide and m-hydroxyl benzoic acid.

Comparative Bioremediation of Petroleum Hydrocarbon-Contaminated Soil by Biostimulation, Bioaugmentation and surfactant.Addition

A bench-scale biopiling experiment was conducted to hydrocarbon bioremediation in a chronically contaminated soil compare the ability of different techniques to enhance petroleum After 195 days, 10%-32% removal of TPHs （total petroleum hydrocarbons） occurred in unamended soil （control）. Biostimulation by inorganic nutrient addition enhanced TPH removal （49%） confirming that bioremediation was nutrient limited and the soil contained a well-adapted hydrocarbonoclastic microbial community. The addition of organic amendments including green waste at 25% and 50% （w/w） and a commercial product called DaramendTM had a further biostimulatory effect （50%-66%, 34%-59% and 69%-80% TPH removal respectively）. Bioaugmentation using two commercially available petroleum hydrocarbon degrading microbial cultures with nutrients enhanced TPH removal in the case of RemActivTM （60%-69%）, but had a marginal effect using Recycler 102 （49%-55%）. The effect of a non-ionic surfactant.in green waste amended soil was variable （52%-72% TPH reduction）, but its potential to enhance biodegradation presumably by promoting contaminant bioavailability was demonstrated. High degradation of artificially added polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons （PAHs） occurred after 106 days （75%-84%）, but significant differences between the control and treatments were unapparent, suggesting that spiked soils do not reflect the behavior of contaminants in genuinely polluted and weathered soil.

surfactant.Influence on Droplet Size and Velocity Spectra from Hollow Cone and Air Induced Sprays

During pesticide spraying, some of the smallest or slowest droplets do not reach the target and may contribute to spray drift. Therefore, it is important to characterize droplet size and velocity close to the nozzle exit. The aim of this study was to contribute to the comprehension of spray formation. surfactant.influence on spray characteristics was studied by comparing water spray with sprays containing three different surfactant., Two nozzles including a classical hollow cone nozzle ATR （Albuz, France） and an air-induced hollow cone nozzle TVI which is a low-drift nozzle （Albuz, France） were chosen. Radial profiles of the axial velocity component and Sauter mean diameter at two axial distances from the nozzle exit were measured using a Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer （PDPA）. Results showed that sprays issued from ATR and TVI nozzles were very different, even when water was sprayed. Effect of adding surfactant.depended on the nozzle type. Sheet thickness was reduced by adding Elton and Heliosol regardless of the nozzle type. They reduced spray angle of ATR nozzle spray but did not affect that of YVI nozzle. Break-Thru has a slight effect when sprayed through the ATR nozzle, but it has the most pronounced effect on the SMD when sprayed through the TVI nozzle.

In this paper, the rigid structural thermosensitive polymer （made in lab） of NBS （N-butyl styrene）, N, N-DEAM （diethyl acrylamide） and AM （acrylamide） was prepared. The influence of viscosity for copolymer solution under different reaction conditions such as temperatures and inorganic salt （monovalent salt and divalent salt） was analyzed. The experiment studies the combination of polymer situation and three different types of surfactant. under certain conditions of the room temperature （25℃） and the formation temperature （76℃）. At last, the influence of the surfactant.kinds and concentration on the viscosity of the polymer solution are studied. The results show that： The copolymer solution, the apparent viscosity of which decreases with the increasement of temperature, but its viscosity has suddenly increased and thereafter dropped in the transition temperature. So the temperature sensitive effect ofcopolymer is very significantly. When the concentration of inorganic salt and surfactant.can be controlled in certain extent, the copolymer solution, the effect increases with the increasement of the concentration, but the viscosity of which decreases with the increasement of shear rate. Shear rate can be controlled in certain extent, shearing stability properties of the copolymer solution are proved.

Field experiments were conducted with several herbicides and adjuvant types to determine weed control effectiveness at different spray volumes and nozzle *** at 35 g/ha applied with SuntⅡmethylated oil adjuvant provided a dramatic increase in oat control as spray volume decreased from 282 to 47 L/*** plus Activator 90 nonionic surfactant.provided much lower control of oats and control increased slightly as spray volume *** oat control from imazamethabenz at 280 g/ha plus Sun-ItⅡincreased from69 to 91%as spray volume decreased from 188 to 23 L/*** mixed with Activator 90,wild oat control from imazamethabenz did not change with changes in spray volume except at 23 L/ha where control was slightly *** mixed with the methylated oil adjuvant,Scoil,provided greater control of three grass species than when mixed with the petroleum oil adjuvant,Clean *** control for either adjuvant was achieved at the lowest water volumes of 47 L/ha which provided 5%adjuvant by *** control by nicosulfuron at 26g/ha plus Scoil was greatest when applied at the lowest spray volume of 47 L/ha,but when this herbicide was mixed with the nonionic surfactant.blend adjuvant,Quad 7,control was unaffected by spray *** the impact of changing droplet size by changing nozzle size and travel speed while holding spray volume constant gave inconsistent results indicating that the effect of droplet size may be complicated by several other factors,including herbicide,species controlled,and environment.
