The present practice in Bangladesh for erection of girders is placing the girder directly on the bearing pad and joining the adjacent two spans in deck slab level by adopting expansion joints, as the bridges are presently designed as simply-supported beam bridge. The main disadvantage of this type of bridges is that, the seismic resistance is weak, and under the external force beyond the design range, the bridges are more likely to fall in danger because of failure in girders. Also they have expansion joints for each span, which affects the comfort of driving and the overall integrity of the bridge deck is poor [1]. Therefore, design and construction of the bridges have been revised to establish continuity between girders of two adjacent spans and transform the bridge as simply supported continuous beam bridge [2]. Temporary bearing (sandbox) method is proposed in this paper to solve the system transformation of continuous beam bridges. Design of the temporary bearing is very simple and can be manufactured at site. This method has been proved in construction of Arial Kha Bridge and can be applied for other similar bridges in Bangladesh.

In this work, a new supported ionic liquid material was prepared via chemically functionalized chlorine methyl polystyrene resin with N-methylimidazolium. The material has been used for Hg(Ⅱ) removal form water solution. The effect of factors on quantitatively adsorption of Hg(Ⅱ) was systematically investigated,such as p H value of solution, equilibrium time, temperature of the solution, the amount of the adsorbent and the effect of the common co-existing ions. Under the optimum conditions, the material can be directly used for Hg(Ⅱ) adsorption without the addition of extraction agents. The maximum adsorption capacity obtained from Langmuir isotherm was as high as 633.6 mg·g, which is higher than most of other adsorbents. Concentrations of Hg(Ⅱ) at 0.97 μg·L can be efficiently removed. Additionally, the common co-existing ions did not interfere the adsorption of Hg(Ⅱ) on the material. Kinetics for the adsorption of Hg(Ⅱ) by the material was analyzed by pseudo second order model. In addition, the mechanism for Hg(Ⅱ) adsorption was also proposed.

Rice husk ash was used as a new, green, and cheap adsorbent for FeCl3. Characterization of the obtained reagent showed that rice husk ash supported FeCl2·2H2O was formed. This reagent is efficient at catalyzing the synthesis of multisubstituted quinolines by the Friedl鋘der heteroannulation of o‐aminoaryl ketones with ketones or β‐diketones under mild reaction conditions. This methodology allows for the synthesis of a broad range of substituted quinolines in high yields and with excellent regioselectivity in the absence of a solvent.

Based on the nonlocal beam theory,the dynamic behavior of simply supported Euler-Bernoulli nano-beams subjected to moving loads was studied.T he governing equations of motion for the dynamic responses of the nano-beam under nonlocal effects were derived by according to Eringen’s theory.T he analytical solution to the differential equations was obtained with the state-space *** effects of the nonlocal stresses and the magnitude of the moving force velocity on the dynamic responses of the nanobeam were discussed in detail.T he results indicate that the nonlocal effects and moving force velocity play a significant role on the dynamic mechanical responses of nano-beams.

Construction of catalysts with integral structure for oxidative reaction process is an essential promotion to catalysts in industrial *** this work,a 3D printing method was employed to prepare 3D printed spheres(3D-PSs),followed by carbonization to form 3D carbon spheres(3D-CSs).Then,a 3D-CSs supported phosphotungstic acid(HPW/3D-CSs)was prepared for deep oxidative *** with traditional powder catalysts,the as-prepared catalyst is easy to be operated and separated from oil *** supported catalyst possesses excellent catalytic performance and the removal of DBT,4-MDBT and 4,6-DMDBT in fuel oil,reaching^100%of sulfur *** effects of various experimental parameters on desulfurization efficiency were considered to optimize reaction ***,the catalyst shows excellent thermal and chemical stability,with no obvious decrease in desulfurization activity after 5 ***–MS analysis indicates DBT sulfone was the solely oxidized product of DBT.

Fe_3O_4-PVDF membranes were prepared by blending of magnetic Fe_3O_4 powders with polyvinylidene fluoride to investigate whether those were usable or not in catalytic membrane reactors. Filtration performances and catalytic activity of membranes in microwave conditions were measured in separate processes. Composite Fe_3O_4-PVDF membranes were characterized by TG-DTA, FTIR, XRD, SEM and contact angle *** of α-phases at PVDF was observed with increasing amount of additives from XRD diffraction patterns. Decomposition of polymer fastened due to catalytic effect of Fe_3O_4. Finger-like structures and large number of small pores were observed at the SEM images. Those provided effective transportation of substrate among the active sites of catalyst. At the experiments conducted in batch reactor, 51%, 77%, 66% and 63% benzyl alcohol conversion were recorded for 2%, 4%, 6% and 8% Fe_3O_4-PVDF composite pieces respectively. Catalyst were separated magnetically and reused several times. On the other hand Fe_3O_4 blended PVDF membranes provided improved flux and BSA rejection compared with performance of bare PVDF membrane; 41.6% BSA rejection was obtained with 4% Fe_3O_4-PVDF whereas it was only 6.7% for PVDF. Fe_3O_4-PVDF composites performed high activity for the benzyl alcohol oxidation in batch reactor and also better filtration at filtration cell. These results promise to obtain practical and low cost membrane material for catalytic reactors usable in microwave support to get fast results.
