An official from the State Environmental Protection Administration says that based on an average annual GDP growth of no less than 7.5% the investment in environmental protection during the Elev-enth Five-year Plan period (2006-2010) is expected to reach RMB1 375 billion, ac-counting for around 1.6% of the GDP in the same period (the total GDP in that period being RMB85 000 billion).
