subcutaneous fat(SCF)and intramuscular fat(IMF)deposition is relevant to health in humans,as well as meat production and quality in *** this study,we generated RNA sequence data for 122 SCF,120 IMF,and 87 longissimus dorsi muscle(LDM)samples using 155 F6 pigs from a specially designed heterogeneous population generated by intercrossing four highly selected European commercial breeds and four indigenous Chinese pig *** phenotypes including waist back fat thickness and intramuscular fat content were also measured in the 155 F6 *** found that the genes in SCF and IMF differed largely in both expression levels and network connectivity,and highlighted network modules that exhibited strongest gain of connectivity in SCF and IMF,containing genes that were associated with the immune process and DNA double-strand repair,*** identified 215 SCF genes related to kinase inhibitor activity,mitochondrial fission,and angiogenesis,and 90 IMF genes related to lipolysis and fat cell differentiation,displayed a tissue-specific association with back fat thickness and IMF content,*** found that cis-expression QTL for trait-associated genes in the two adipose tissues tended to have tissuedependent predictability for the two adipose *** splicing of genes was also found to be associated with SCF or IMF deposition,but the association was much less extensive than that based on expression *** study provides a better understanding of SCF and IMF gene transcription and network organization and identified critical genes and network modules that displayed tissue-specific associations with subcutaneous and intramuscular fat *** features are helpful for designing breeding programs to genetically improve the two adipose traits in a balanced way.

BACKGROUND Intramuscular corticosteroid injection may cause adverse effects such as dermal and/or subcutaneous atrophy,alopecia,hypopigmentation,and *** cutaneous atrophy can spontaneously resolve,several treatment options have been suggested for this *** SUMMARY In this paper,we report a case of corticosteroid injection induced lipoatrophy treated with autologous whole blood(AWB)injection,as the condition had been unresponsive to fractional laser therapy.A 29-year-old female patient visited the dermatology clinic complaining of skin depression on her right buttock area,which had appeared six months *** had been only subtle improvement at the margins after fractional CO_(2) laser treatment;therefore,after obtaining informed consent from the patient,AWB treatment was *** month after the first AWB injection,the size and depth of the lesion had noticeably improved,and a slight improvement was also observed in *** Close observation is the initial treatment of choice for steroid induced skin atrophy;however,for patients in need of immediate cosmetic improvement,AWB injection may be a safe and cost-effective alternative.

AIM: To evaluate the relationship between hepatic fat infiltration and abdominal fat volume by using computed tomography (CT).METHODS: Three hundred and six patients who visited our obesity clinic between November 2007 and April 2008 underwent fat protocol CT *** age range of the patients was 19 to 79 years and the mean age was 49 *** male to female ratio was 116:*** and spleen attenuation measurements were taken with three regions of interests (ROIs) from the liver and two ROIs from the *** attenuation indices (HAIs) were measured as follows: (1) hepatic parenchymal attenuation (CTLP);(2) liver to spleen attenuation ratio (LS ratio);and (3) difference between hepatic and splenic attenuation (LSdif).Abdominal fat volume was measured using a 3 mm slice CT scan starting at the level of the umbilicus and was automatically calculated by a *** fat was classified into total fat (TF),visceral fat (VF),and subcutaneous fat (SF).We used a bivariate correlation method to assess the relationship between the three HAIs and TF,VF,and ***: There were significant negative correlations between CTLP,LS ratio,and LSdif with TF,VF,and SF,*** CTLP showed a strong negative correlation with TF and VF (r = -0.415 and -0.434,respectively,P fatty infiltration of the liver was correlated with amount of abdominal fat and VF was more strongly associated with fatty liver than SF.

Aim: To investigate the relationship between sudomotor dysfunction and various body composition analysis indices in type 2 diabetic patients. Methods: Between January 2016 and April 2021, 136 diabetic participants who had undergone body composition analysis (BCA) were recruited for this cross-sectional study. Sudomotor functions were assessed using SUDOSCAN, and participants were grouped into patients with normal (Group 1, n = 51), mildly reduced (Group 2, n = 46) and severely reduced (Group 3, n = 39) foot electrochemical skin conductance (FESC) levels. Results: The mean age was 60.4 ± 10.1 years, median diabetes duration was 12 (6 - 19) years, and 52.2% of participants were males. Among BCA parameters, the significant differences were found in total fat (TF) (p = 0.023), percentage of TF (%TF) (p = 0.025), percentage of android fat (%AF) (p = 0.048), fat mass (FM) in arms (p = 0.016), FM in legs (p = 0.002), appendicular fat mass (aFM) (p = 0.002), appendicular fat mass/body mass index (aFM/BMI) ratio (p = 0.009) between three groups. In Spearman correlation analysis, FESC was correlated with RBC, ESR and homocysteine (r = 0.171, r = −0.190, r = −0.192, p β =0.161, 0.155, 0.165, 0.185, p Conclusion: The progressive decline of sudomotor function is positively associated with loss of subcutaneous fat in arms and legs, suggesting that subcutaneous fat of extremities may be necessary to prevent DPN progression in type 2 diabetic patients.

Effects of Dietary Copper Level on Blood and Tissue Copper Contents in Geese

In order to study the effect of dietary copper level on blood and tissue copper contents in geese, one-week Sichuan white geese were randomly divided in- to four groups, and the geese in the first, second, third and fourth groups were fed with diet with copper levels of 39.55, 127.60, 194.75 and 255.22 mg/kg, respective- ly. At the ages of 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 weeks, the contents of copper in blood, liver, chest muscle and subcutaneous fat of the geese were determined. The effects of dietary copper level, age and sex on the blood and tissue copper contents of geese were analyzed by multivariate analysis of variance. The results showed that the di- etary copper level showed no significant effects on the blood and liver copper con- tents of geese （P〉0.05）; the chest muscle copper content of geese in the second group was significantly higher than that in the first group （P〈0.05）; the subcuta- neous fat copper content of geese in the fourth group was significantly higher than those in the other three groups （P〈0.01）; the age had significant effects on the blood, liver, chest muscle and subcutaneous fat copper contents of geese （P〈0.01）; and the sex showed no significant effects on the blood and tissue copper contents of geese （P〉0.05）.
