Numerical simulation and experiment of medium flow energy field in vibrating mill

In order to solve to the technical bottleneck that powder is easy to reunite and without refining in the vibration ultrafine grinding(UFG)technology,the energy field of medium flow was studied by analyzing crushing energy and energy *** numerical simulation model of medium flow based on Particle Flow Code(PFC)was *** setting four kinds of working conditions of amplitude and frequency,the dynamic graphics and curves of the energy field(such as kinetic energy,strain energy,velocity field,force chain and so on)were *** the situation of mid-frequency with large amplitude,the average speed of front medium flow was 1.3–5.03 times that of others and the low-energy region was decreased by 6%to 10%.The largest kinetic energy and strain energy were 3.25 and 2.94 times the average value of others,*** diamond UFG was analyzed in new vibration mills under the conditions of low frequency with large amplitude and mid-frequency with large *** a laser particle size analyzer,it was discovered that the particle sizes d(50)in these two models were 3.840µm and 0.260µm and bandwidths were 9.940µm and 3.825µ*** highlights the effect of mid-frequency with large amplitude in particle refining and bandwidth narrowing,which is of great importance in the fields of ultra-hard particle refining research and energy utilization.

Certain stress tensor and strain tensor form a conjugate pair if there exists a scalar valued strain energy function such that the stress tensor is equal to the derivative of strain energy function with respect to the strain *** stress is widely accepted as the stress measurement in molecular dynamics(MD).However,its conjugate strain is not yet *** atomic logarithmic strain is proposed and numerically verified as the conjugate strain of virial stress at 0 K *** strain energy is calculated by virial stress and the proposed atomic logarithmic strain equals to the interatomic potential energy *** conclusion is numerically verified with(1)Coulomb-Buckingham potential,Lenard-Jones potential,or arbitrary nonlinear pair potential and(2)randomly generated atomic configurations and deformation *** are given in determining the stress–strain relation for magnesium oxide with MD *** result shows that the atomic logarithmic strain is identical to engineer-ing strain when deformation is small.

The methods for constructing planar C~1 cubic Hermite interpolation curves via approximate energy minimization are studied. The main purpose of the proposed methods are to obtain the optimal tangent vectors of the C~1 cubic Hermite interpolation curves. By minimizing the appropriate approximate functions of the strain energy, the curvature variation energy and the combined energy, the linear equation systems for solving the optimal tangent vectors are obtained. It is found that there is no unique solution for the minimization of approximate curvature variation energy minimization, while there is unique solution for the minimization of approximate strain energy and the minimization of approximate combination energy because the coeffcient matrix of the equation system is strictly diagonally dominant. Some examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in constructing planar C~1 cubic Hermite interpolation curves.

In this paper, we perform systematic calculations of the stress and strain distributions in InAs/GaAs truncated pyramidal quantum dots （QDs） with different wetting layer （WL） thickness, using the finite element method （FEM）. The stresses and strains are concentrated at the boundaries of the WL and QDs, are reduced gradually from the boundaries to the interior, and tend to a uniform state for the positions away from the boundaries. The maximal strain energy density occurs at the vicinity of the interface between the WL and the substrate. The stresses, strains and released strain energy are reduced gradually with increasing WL thickness. The above results show that a critical WL thickness may exist, and the stress and strain distributions can make the growth of QDs a growth of strained three-dimensional island when the WL thickness is above the critical value, and FEM can be applied to investigate such nanosystems, QDs, and the relevant results are supported by the experiments.

Crustal movement and incremental-movement data observed repeatedly at GPS stations during 1999 -2009 were analyzed to study the effect of two earthquakes of Ms8.1 and Ms8.0 that occurred in 2001 and 2008, respectively, in Qinghai-Tibet sub-plate and its eastern margin. The result revealed certain anoma- lous pre-earthquake deformation and some large co-seismic changes. Prior to the 2008 Wcnchuan Ms8.0 earthquake, the seismogenic Kunlunshan fault zone became a geographic boundary between different regional movements. At the time of the earthquake, there was an average cross-fault crustal shortening of - 1.04 m and an average right-lateral strike slip of 0.76 m along the ruptured segment, as well as a strain-energy release of -62.66 ×10.7.
