The experiment was conducted to study the pressure profiles and gas-solid flow in the standpipe of a new cold model of circulating fluidized bed reactor combined with a coal pyrolysis *** effects of superficial gas velocity in the riser U,circulating rate G and aeration added to the pyrolysis chamber Q on the axial pressure profiles in the standpipe were *** U increasing the negative pressure gradient in standpipe decreased *** G increasing the negative pressure gradient and slip velocity in the standpipe were also *** of aeration added to the pyrolysis chamber on gas/solid flow state in the standpipe was *** U and orifice of the valve at the bottom of the standpipe kept constant,pressure distribution trend especially at the top of the standpipe would become larger with Q *** flow pattern in the standpipe changing from negative pressure difference to positive pressure difference occurred with U increasing when Q and the orifice of the valve at the bottom of the standpipe were *** the modified Ergun equation was suitable for describing the moving bed flow in the standpipe of the system.

The application of lead as tem porary w ater - sealing m aterial for the stan dpipes in under ground mine is reported . It is considered that lead is a good w ater - sealing m aterial in un derground mine , especially for irregular opening with high - pressure rushing w ater . Leadseal is cheap , easy to use and less har m ful to w orkers an d environ m ent and m ay have widerapplication .
