Based on the analysis of the spurious introduced by phase accumulation truncation which was made by Nicholas, a new simplified algorithm for spurious spectrum in the presence of phase truncation is presented by using the mapping mathematics and number theoretic method, it is possible to precisely analyze the spurious location and the spurious amplitude introduced by phase truncation in practical applications by computer.

Perforation of tympanic membrane is one of the main reasons for both deafness and *** could improve and restore audition by restoring or replacing the tympanic ***,whether you can make the spurious tympanic membrane successfully is one of the keys to a successful *** CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) measurement equipment, we measured tympanic membrane model precisely and *** also analysed the measured data by point to surface and we have successfully reconstructed the CAD model of the spurious tympanic *** the model we have got,we schemed out the mold of spurious tympanic *** addition,we utilized MasterCAM compiling CNC (Computerized Numerical Con- trol) code and simulating the course of ***,we obtained the mold of spurious tympanic *** research in this article has great significance to the success of spurious tympanic membrane grafting operation.

Stepped frequency signal is often used to synthesize high-resolution range profile,but redundant high-resolution range profile exists before synthesis. Two methods have been given to extract target from overlapped high-resolution range profile and analyzed to show how spurious peaks appear. This paper provides a reverse-count algorithm to resolve the problem of spurious peaks for moving target. This proposed method selects the peak with maximum amplitude as the extracted target and gets its position by using the number of samples prceding before the present sample position and the number of high-resolution range cell of the target. This proposed method is compared with the already given method and the result shows the ability of the proposed method to remove spurious peaks, it provides the foundation for high-resolution range profile.

spurious regression has been extensively studied in time series econometrics since Granger and Newbold’s seminal paper. Recently, it has been advanced that this phenomenon is due to a mistreatment of short-range autocorrelation in the residuals of the regression when at least one of the variables in a bivariate regression is stationary. HAC errors, feasible GLS and Cochrane-Orcutt-type procedures are then proposed to draw correct inference. Such a proposal should be cautiously considered, since nonsense inference might also be due to deterministic trend mechanisms, structural breaks, and long range dependence. In these cases, standard autocorrelation correction procedures would not solve the problem of spurious regression. We aim to make the later argument clear.

Establishment of Numerical Wave Flume Based on the Second-Order Wave-Maker Theory

With growing computational power, the first-order wave-maker theory has become well established and is widely used for numerical wave flumes. However, existing numerical models based on the first-order wave-maker theory lose accuracy as nonlinear effects become prominent. Because spurious harmonic waves and primary waves have different propagation velocities, waves simulated by using the first-order wave-maker theory have an unstable wave profile. In this paper, a numerical wave flume with a piston-type wave-maker based on the second-order wave-maker theory has been established. Dynamic mesh technique was developed. The boundary treatment for irregular wave simulation was specially dealt with. Comparisons of the free-surface elevations using the first-order and second-order wave-maker theory prove that second-order wave-maker theory can generate stable wave profiles in both the spatial and time domains. Harmonic analysis and spectral analysis were used to prove the superiority of the second-order wave-maker theory from other two aspects. To simulate irregular waves, the numerical flume was improved to solve the problem of the water depth variation due to low-frequency motion of the wave board. In summary, the new numerical flume using the second-order wave-maker theory can guarantee the accuracy of waves by adding an extra motion of the wave board. The boundary treatment method can provide a reference for the improvement of nonlinear numerical flume.

An adaptive Tikhonov regularization is integrated with an h-adaptive grid-based scheme for simulation of elastodynamic problems, involving seismic sources with discontinuous solutions and random media. The Tikhonov method is adapted by a newly-proposed detector based on the MINMOD limiters and the grids are adapted by the multiresolution analysis (MRA) via interpolation wavelets. Hence, both small and large magnitude physical waves are preserved by the adaptive estimations on non-uniform grids. Due to developing of non-dissipative spurious oscillations, numerical stability is guaranteed by the Tikhonov regularization acting as a post-processor on irregular grids. To preserve waves of small magnitudes, an adaptive regularization is utilized: using of smaller amount of smoothing for small magnitude waves. This adaptive smoothing guarantees also solution stability without over smoothing phenomenon in stochastic media. Proper distinguishing between noise and small physical waves are challenging due to existence of spurious oscillations in numerical simulations. This identification is performed in this study by the MINMOD limiter based algorithm. Finally, efficiency of the proposed concept is verified by: 1) three benchmarks of one-dimensional (1-D) wave propagation problems;2) P-SV point sources and rupturing line-source including a bounded fault zone with stochastic material properties.

The constant stress patch test condition has widely been studied in terms of Cartesian coordinates. However, such kind of conditions cannot be used for curvilinear coordinates. In this paper, certain forms of the patch test are established in terms of the general and the orthogonal curvilinear systems respectively. For the axisymmetric problem, the related patch test condition is formulated and used to construct an axisymmetric incompatible element. In addition, some new approaches to avoid spurious shear stress are presented.

Nowadays, it is a new technology era. Fingerprint is necessary identification recognition of citizens. Fingerprint technology has become more popular and connected to human being life and come to replace traditional identification and verifying recognition today. The fingerprint will continue to substitute the ID of citizens as soon as possible in the future. Fingerprint refers to a complex of combination between gap of ridges and valleys on all of the fingertips. Clearer ridges quality is more convenient to analyze who you are and system can recognize your unique identity. Poorer ridges quality image is a significant problem that system has to improve and enhance the images quality before analyzing the results. Dry and wet ridges are the main issues that developers and researchers need to work on as it provides poor quality image. Medium ridge image is a good condition for analysis, but it also needs to be improved. Therefore, fingerprint images have to control the clearer quality and computing minutiae result and then comparing to templates, which stored in the database. The result will display if it is matched but it will not appear when that person has not yet registered. The paper proposed three algorithms to enhance image, extract minutiae and match with fingerprint templates. The first step, is used to enhance the image quality using brightness and Gabor filters on the fingerprint surface to make ridgelines darker. The second step is to extract minutia. It used to convert the images to binary (0 and 1) and process thinning image with Zhang Suen algorithms. Then, the pictures go through the fixing procedure to correct any missed links, error ridges or spurious minutiae that generated by fingerprint algorithms before they undergo final analysis, calculate location of minutiae and the total of the minutiae on the fingerprint surface. The author of the paper titled “Analytical Methods in Quality Control of Scientific Publications”, which was published in theAmerican Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 2012, 3, 443-447 (DOI: 10.4236/ajac.2012.36058) had criticized the paper published by Dongreet al., “Application of GC-EI-MS for the Identification and Investigation of Positional Isomer in Primaquine, an Antimalarial Drug, ”Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2005, 39, 111-116 (DOI: 10.1016/***.2005.03.019), for presenting falsifications in this publication. Neither the reviewer northe Edi-tor-in-Chief Bezhan Chankvetadze of the Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysishas reacted to accusations of falsification.
