Based on the principles of massive support and lateral support, a novel double-layered split die(DLSD) for high-pressure apparatus was designed to achieve a higher pressure-bearing capacity and larger sample cavity. The stress distributions of the DLSDs with different numbers of divided blocks were investigated by the finite element method and compared with the stress distributions of the conventional belt-type die(BTD). The results show that the cylinders and first-layer supporting rings of the DLSDs have dramatically smaller stresses than those of the BTD. In addition, increasing the number of divided blocks from 4 to 10 gradually increases the stress of the cylinder but has minimal influence on the stress of the supporting rings. The pressure-bearing capacities of the DLSDs with different numbers of divided blocks, especially with fewer blocks, are all remarkably higher than the pressure-bearing capacity of the BTD. The contrast experiments were also carried out to verify the simulated results. It is concluded that the pressure-bearing capacities of the DLSDs with 4 and 8 divided blocks are 1.58 and 1.45 times greater than that of the BTD. This work is rewarding for the commercial synthesis of high-quality, large-sized superhard materials using a double-layered split high-pressure die.

In this study, the mean droplet diameter in the cavity zone and the total mass transfer area of a multi-stage highspeed disperser(HSD) reactor with different packing combinations were measured and evaluated. The effects of rotational speed and packing radius, as well as the packing ring radius and numbers, on the mean droplet diameter and the total mass transfer area were evaluated. A model was established to calculate the mass transfer area in the cavity zone in the HSD reactor, and it was found that the packings contribute 61%–82% of the total mass transfer area. A correlation for predicting the mass transfer area in the packing zone was regressed by the dimensionless analysis method. An enhancement factor based on the mass transfer area in the packing zone was proposed to evaluate the effect of packing combination on mass transfer area. Two optimum packing combinations were proposed in consideration of the mean droplet diameter and the enhancement factor.

A projectile system is proposed to improve efficiency and effectiveness of damage done by anti-tank weapon system on its target by designing a ballistic projectile that can split into multiple warheads and engage a target at the same time. This idea has been developed in interest of saving time consumed from the process of reloading and additional number of rounds wasted on target during an attack. The proposed system is achieved in three steps: Firstly, a mathematical model is prepared using the basic equations of motion. Second, An Ejection Mechanism of proposed warhead is explained with the help of schematics. Third, a part of numerical simulation which is done using the MATLAB software. The final result shows various ranges and times when split can be effectively achieved. With the new system,impact points are increased and hence it has a better probability of hitting a target.

In 1988, Rudolf Pichlmayr pioneered split liver transplantation(SLT), enabling the transplantation of one donor liver into two recipients-one pediatric and one adult patient. In the same year, Henri Bismuth and colleagues performed the first full right/full left split procedure with two adult recipients. Both splitting techniques were rapidly adopted within the transplant community. However, a SLT is technically demanding, may cause increased perioperative complications, and may potentially transform an excellent deceased donor organ into two marginal quality grafts. Thus, crucial evaluation of donor organs suitable for splitting and careful screening of potential SLT recipients is warranted. Furthermore, the logistic background of the splitting procedure as well as the organ allocation policy must be adapted to further increase the number and the safety of SLT. Under defined circumstances, in selected patients and at experienced transplant centers, SLT outcomes can be similar to those obtained in full organ LT. Thus, SLT is an important tool to reduce the donor organ shortage and waitlist mortality, especially for pediatric patients and small adults. The present review gives an overview of technical aspects, current developments, and clinical outcomes of SLT.

Capacity enhancement approaches are being intensively studied in the past few years to address the soaring capacity demands. The network densif ication technology is recognized as one promising solution. However,the ultra-dense network scheme suffers from severe interference and frequent handovers,which degrade the system performance significantly. In this paper,a virtual sectorization system leveraging a C-plane(control signaling plane) and U-plane(user data plane) split scheme is proposed to overcome these two fundamental problems. Besides,a well-designed fi eld trial is conducted to evaluate its performance. The results show that the interference can be avoided,which leads to a tremendous increase in system capacity. In addition,the number of handovers is also greatly decreased. Thus,the trial results verify the huge potential of the C-plane and U-plane split scheme for system capacity and user experience enhancements.

In order to achieve rapid and simple non-destructive testing of water trees in materials,a novel water tree characterisation method based on the complementary split ring reso-nators(CSRR)was *** characteristics of circular CSRR and rectangular CSRR were analysed in high-frequency electromagnetic simulation *** resonant fre-quency of CSRR was found to be correlated to the dielectric constant of the *** addition,the lumped equivalent circuit parameters of CSRRs were also calculated and *** results of electromagnetic simulations and circuit simulations achieved good *** the experimental part,sensors based on the two kinds of CSRRs were fabricated and were used to detect the water tree defects in low-density polyethylene *** experiment results showed that the method of using CSRR sensors to detect water tree is feasible.

split liver transplantation(SLT),while widely accepted in pediatrics,remains underutilized in adults. Advancements in surgical techniques and donor-recipient matching,however,have allowed expansion of SLT from utilization of the right trisegment graft to now include use of the hemiliver graft as well. Despite less favorable outcomes in the early experience,better outcomes have been reported by experienced centers and have further validated the feasibility of SLT. Importantly,more than two decades of experience have identified key requirements for successful SLT in adults. When these requirements are met,SLT can achieve outcomes equivalent to those achieved with other types of liver transplantation for adults. However,substantial challenges,such as surgical techniques,logistics,and ethics,persist as ongoing barriers to further expansion of this highly complex procedure. This review outlines the current state of SLT in adults,focusing on donor and recipient selection based on physiology,surgical techniques,surgical outcomes,and ethical issues.
