It is known that eddy current effect has a great influence on magnetic flux leakage testing(MFL).Usually,contacttype encoder wheels are used to measure MFL testing speed to evaluate the effect and further compensate testing *** speed measurement method is complicated,and inevitable abrasion and occasional slippage will reduce the measurement *** order to solve this problem,based on eddy current effect due to the relative movement,a speed measurement method is proposed,which is contactless and *** the high-speed MFL testing,eddy current induced in the specimen will cause an obvious modification to the applied *** modified field,which is measured by Hall sensor,can be utilized to reflect the moving ***,the measurement principle is illustrated based on Faraday’s ***,dynamic finite element simulations are conducted to investigate the modified magnetic field ***,laboratory experiments are performed to validate the feasibility of the proposed *** results show that Bmz(r1)and Bmx(r2)have a linear relation with moving speed,which could be used as an alternative measurement parameter.

A speed measurement system utilizing an injection-seeded Tm:YAG laser

A speed measurement system utilizing a stable single frequency Q-switched Tm:YAG laser was presented in this study. The maximum pulse energy of the laser was 2.38 m J with the pulse repetition rate of 100 Hz. Using the speed measurement system, the revolving speed of a rotating target could be measured by optical heterodyne detection technique and the maximum measurement error was 0.68 m/s.

The speed measurement of radar servo system is discussed. It is based on the photoelectric incoder of the servo system. The realization and error of M speed measurement , T speed measurement are analyzed .The error curves are given by the experiment. The experimental platform is designed and the various methods are realized on it respectively. The designed M/T speed measurement method is realized. The experimental results showed: the designed and realized M/T speed measurement method have a wider measuring range than the other two methods. Its other measurement performance ,such as measuring precision, is also improved.

There exist many methods to measure blood speed, all of which have some serious shortcomings. As fiber is characterized by tiny diameter, and low lost ratio of power and flexibility, it is suitable for measuring blood speed. It is proved that the speedometer has high space resolving power,high time resolving power, and outstanding capability of approaching target, etc.

Decomposition of the Two Lowest Lamb modes in a Bonded Plate

Based on the expression of the dispersion equation of Lamb waves in an adhesive two-layered plate presented in our previous paper [Chin. Phys. Lett. 18(2001)1483], the two lowest Lamb modes, the symmetric mode S0 and the antisymmetric mode A0 are successfully decomposed in the low-frequency regime. Relations between the rigidity of the bond and the velocity of the two Lamb modes are found, which lay a foundation for the estimation of the bond rigidity of the adhesive plate. The influence of the variations of the bond rigidity in terms of the stiffness constants KN and KT of the spring model on the velocity of the two Lamb modes is discussed and numerically evaluated. Numerical results indicate that the deterioration of the bond rigidity causes the phase velocity decrease for Lamb modes of the two lowest order, thus having a possibility for the evaluation of the bonding state of the adhesive plate by using ultrasonic wave velocity measurement.

Study on Integral Expression in measurement of Average Ion Velocity by Multi-Grid Probe

In order to improve the interference rejection performance in the measurement of average ion velocity by multi-grid probe, an integral expression is proposed. The integral expression, differing from other expressions for probe measurement, avoids the differential operation on the I-V characteristics of multi-grid probe measurement; and by this method, the ion average velocity can be figured out directly by the I-V characteristics of multi-grid probe measurement.
