Sustainable food system development is the cornerstone of global human survival and development.This research briefly analyzes the challenges facing the current food system,summarizes the directions of food system trans-formation,expounds the role of geography in the transformation of food system,and discusses the future paths to promote the sustainable development of food system.The main conclusions are as follows:1)The interaction of factors such as regional conflicts,climate change,slowdown in development,raging epidemics,and resource and environmental constraints pose multiple challenges to the global food system.2)The food system should be high-quality,efficient,nutritious and healthy,green and low-carbon,inclusive and inclusive transformation.3)Geography can provide solutions for the transformation of food systems.4)The transformation paths of the food system includes:establishing a global food system with benefit sharing,cleaner production,and fair participation,improving the innovation capability of the food system,and establishing an effective organizational guarantee system.

Analytical solutions for characteristic radii of circular roadway surrounding rock plastic zone and their application

In the non-uniform stress field, the surrounding rock plastic zone of the circular roadway shows different shapes under the different confining pressure conditions. Based on the boundary shape characteristics of the plastic zone, the characteristic radii of the plastic zone were proposed, namely the horizontal,longitudinal and medial axis radii, which could reflect the plastic zone shapes characteristics and classify the sizes of the key parts. On the theoretical basis of elastic-plastic mechanics, analytical solutions for the characteristic radii were obtained by theoretical deduction, and the relationships between the characteristic radii and key influencing factors were analyzed. Finally, the evaluation criterion of the circular roadway surrounding rock plastic zone shapes, evaluation criterion of the location of potential hazards caused by the roadway surrounding rock and evaluation critical points of roadway dynamic disasters based on characteristic radii were proposed. This work could provide a theoretical basis for stability analysis of the surrounding rock, support design, and guide the prevention and control of dynamic roadway disasters.

Background:Emergency department(ED)overcrowding is among the biggest and most important problems experienced by ED staff.The number of ED visits is on the increase and remains an unresolved problem.Emergency department overcrowding has become an important problem for emergency care services worldwide.There is a relationship between overcrowding and patients’negative experi-ences of using ED and therefore reporting reduced patients’satisfaction.This study aimed to identify the causes of ED overcrowding,de-termine the reasons for people’s use of EDs,and develop solutions for reducing ED overcrowding.Methods:This study used quantitative methods using a descriptive approach.The participants were patients who visited the ED.A questionnaire was administered to 296 participants between December 2021 and February 2022.The study included 5 different hospitals in Turkey.The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics.Results:This study identified the most common presenting medical problems in the ED and why patients used the ED.Reasons for using the ED included patients perceiving their condition as really urgent(62.8%),the ED being open for 24 hours(36.1%),and receiving faster care in the ED(31.4%).This study also developed recommendations for alleviating ED overcrowding.Conclusion:This study identified causes of ED overcrowding and some solutions for alleviating the issue.Emergency department over-crowding should be perceived as an international problem,and initiatives for solutions should be implemented quickly.

African Swine Fever(ASF)has received a lot of public concerns in and outside of China(1)Currently,more than 1 million head of pigs have been culled,and the stocking number of fattening pigs and sows has been reported reduced by more than 20%(Fig.1a,b),and the price of pork has been increased by around 30%compared with the same period in 2018(Fig.1c).ASF in China has also had a significant impact on the world meat market,due to its huge contribution to global pig production.

Fe^3+and Zn^2+ions were doped into the lattice of CeO2 via the hydrothermal method.The micro structure and spectra features were analyzed systemically.XRD results show that the solid solubility of Fe^3+and Zn^2+ions in Ce1-x(Fe0.5Zn0.5)xO2 can be identified as x=0.16.The cell volumes are decreased by increasing the doped content.The TEM graphs prove that the grain size of the sample is about 10 nm,and the EDS result indicates that the doped contents are in accordance with that of the theory concentrations.Meanwhile,the doping also causes the increasing concentrations of the defects and oxygen vacancies which are supported by the XPS,Raman,UV and PL characterizations.The samples exhibit better catalytic activities for improving the hydrogen storage properties and the electrochemical kinetics of the ball milled Mg2Ni based composites.Further,the catalysis effects are improved by increasing the doped contents,which can be ascribed to the increasing contents of the oxygen vacancies,defects,the special electron transition states and the nature of the doped ions in CeO2-based solid solutions.

Citrus is one of the top three fruit crops worldwide.Citrus production is facing an unprecedented crisis due to Huanglongbing(HLB,also known as citrus greening),which is the most devastating disease of citrus.HLB was first reported in Asia a century ago.HLB is associated with Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus(Las),Ca.L.americanus(Lam),and Ca.L.africanus(Bove,2006),which belong to the gramegative a-proteobacteria.Among them,Las is the most widely spread.Las and Lam are vectored by Diaphorina citri Kuwayama(ACP),whereas Laf is transmitted by Trioza erytreae.

Effective communication and collaboration among healthcare professionals are crucial for delivering high-quality patient care.Interdepartmental miscommunication poses a significant challenge to healthcare systems,potentially undermining the quality of healthcare services provided.In the same manner,communication barriers between referring physicians and radiologists can specifically affect radiology services and patient outcomes.This article attempts to put the spotlight on the ever-present chronic challenges of this issue and prompt readers to recognize the relevant potential pitfalls in their daily clinical practice.Practical solutions are explored and proposed,which should be tailored to the specific needs and issues that each individual institution may face.

Changes of tear film lipid layer thickness by 3% diquafosol ophthalmic solutions in patients with dry eye syndrome

AIM: To evaluate the quantitatively changes in lipid layer thickness(LLT) when 3% diquafosol eye drop is used for dry eye patients using the tear film interferometer. METHODS: A total 124 participants(32 males, 92 females;mean age, 28.9 y) diagnosed with dry eye disease(DED) received topical instillation of 4 ophthalmic solutions in one eye: diquafosol, normal saline, 0.1% sodium hyaluronate and 0.3% gatifloxacin, in a masked manner. LLT was measured using an interferometer at baseline and 20 min after the instillation of each ophthalmic solutions.RESULTS: Changes of LLT after instillation(nm, mean± standard error) were as follows: 12.6±2.0 for diquafosol(P<0.001), 1.2±2.2 for normal saline(P=0.301), 1.5±2.0 for hyaluronate(P=0.495), and 0.5±3.2 for gatifloxacin(P=0.884).CONCLUSION: Topical instillation of diquafosol increases tear film LLT in DED patients. Diquafosol 3% eye drop might be effective treatment option of evaporative DED with meibomian gland dysfunction.

In this paper, we study the higher dimensional nonlinear Rossby waves under the generalized beta effect.Using methods of the multiple scales and weak nonlinear perturbation expansions [Q. S. Liu, et al., Phys. Lett. A383(2019) 514], we derive a new(2 + 1)-dimensional generalized Boussinesq equation from the barotropic potential vorticity equation. Based on bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems and the qualitative theory of ordinary differential equations, the dynamical analysis and exact traveling wave solutions of the new generalized Boussinesq equation are obtained. Moreover, we provide the numerical simulations of these exact solutions under some conditions of all parameters. The numerical results show that these traveling wave solutions are all the Rossby solitary waves.
