Temperature-swing adsorption(TSA)is an effective technique for CO_(2) capture,but the temperature swing procedure is ***,we report a low-energy-consumption system by combining passive radiative cooling and solar heating for the uptake of CO_(2) on commercial activated carbons(CACs).During adsorption,the adsorbents are coated with a layer of hierarchically porous poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropene)[P(VdF-HFP)HP],which cools the adsorbents to a low temperature under sunlight through radiative *** desorption,CACs with broad absorption of the solar spectrum are exposed to light irradiation for *** heating and cooling processes are completely driven by solar *** tests under mimicked sunlight using the CACs show that the performance of this system is comparable to that of the traditional ***,under real sunlight irradiation,the adsorption capacity of the CACs can be well maintained after multiple *** present work may inspire the development of new temperature swing procedures with little energy consumption.

Advanced radiative cooling materials with both heating and cooling mode is of pivotal importance for all-season energy-saving in *** this work,we report the design and fabrication of bacterial cellulose-based Janus films(J-BC)with radiative cooling and solar heating properties,which were developed by two-step vacuum-assisted filtration of modified MXene-doped bacterial cellulose and modified silicon nitride(Si_(3)N_(4))-doped bacterial cellulose,followed by hot-pressing and drying *** as-prepared J-BC films show a unique Janus structure where modified MXene nanosheets and cellulose nanofibers are on the bottom surface,and modified silicon nitride(Si_(3)N_(4))nanoparticles and cellulose nanofibers are on the top *** radiative cooling effect of J-BC films is enabled by the Si_(3)N_(4)-doped bacterial cellulose due to the high mid-infrared emissivity of Si_(3)N_(4) nanoparticles,which shows a high solar reflection of~98.1%and high emissivity of~93.6%in the atmospheric transparency window(8-13μm).Thanks to the enhanced photothermal conversion of the modified MXene nanosheets,a reduced solar reflection(6.6%)and relatively low thermal emissivity in the atmospheric window(71.4%)are achieved,making sure the solar heating effect of J-BC *** the outdoor tests,J-BC films achieve a sub-ambient temperature drop of~3.8°C and an above-ambient temperature rise of~14.2°*** prediction demonstrated that the J-BC films with dual modes have great potential of all-season energy saving for buildings and a corresponding energy-saving map in China is also *** work disclosed herein can provide an avenue for the shaping of advanced radiative cooling materials for emerging applications of personal thermal management,sustainable energy-efficient buildings,and beyond.

Catalytic converting CO2 into fuels with the help of solar energy is regarded as‘dream reaction’,as both energy crisis and environmental issue can be mitigated ***,it is still suffering from low efficiency due to narrow solar-spectrum utilization and sluggish heterogeneous reaction *** this work,we demonstrate that catalytic reduction of CO2 can be achieved over Au nanoparticles(NPs)deposited rutile under full solar-spectrum irradiation,boosted by solar-heating *** found that UV and visible light can initiate the reaction,and the heat from IR light and local surface-plasmon resonance relaxation of Au NPs can boost the reaction *** apparent activation energy is determined experimentally and is used to explain the superior catalytic activity of Au/rutile to rutile in a kinetic *** also find the photo-thermal synergy in the Au/rutile *** envision that this work may facilitate understanding the kinetics of CO2 reduction and developing feasible catalytic systems with full solar spectrum utilization for practical artificial photosynthesis.

This study aims to develop a stable paraffin-based phase change material(PCM)/water emulsion for the solar heating storage *** n-Octacosane/water emulsion was prepared and some nano-particles were dispersed in the emulsion as stabilizers to enhance the *** effects of different emulsification systems on the stability of emulsions were evaluated by the freeze-thaw *** appeared to be a minimum effective concentration of both the emulsifier and the stabilizer to maintain the stable *** analysis by differential scanning calorimeter(DSC) indicated that the degree of supercooling of the emulsion was low.

The major portion of energy in a building is consumed by heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning （HVAC）. The traditional heating and cooling systems contribute greatly to the emission of greenhouse gases, especially carbon dioxide. Four different ways, i.e., Trombe wall, solar chimney, unglazed transpired solar facade, and solar roof, are adopted for solar heating. Similarly, two major ways, i.e., evaporative cooling and building integrated evaporative cooling are adopted for cooling of the building. Therefore, an attempt has been made in this paper to compile the developments of solar heating and cooling technologies in a building.

传统的制冷、制热技术能源消耗量巨大,而利用太空和太阳作为天然冷源和热源的辐射制冷和太阳能制热技术由于零能耗、低碳排的特点受到了研究者们的广泛关注,然而,目前被动式制冷/制热器件通常只能实现单一功能、无法满足动态环境条件下多变的制冷/制热需求,本文提出了一种温度自适应的智能控温双层薄膜(STG),以辐射制冷技术和太阳能制热技术为基础,可以随温度响应实现不同环境条件下制冷/制热模式的智能切换,当温度低于其境界温度时,STG膜在太阳光波段从高反射切换为高吸收(反射率由0.962变为0.059),而中红外发射率始终保持在0.95.该光谱特性使得STG膜在夏季直射阳光(辐射峰值>900Wm)下能够实现比环境温度低5°C的亚环境日间辐射冷却,而在冬季则能实现550Wm²的太阳光加热功率。作者同时通过理论模拟验证当STG膜被大规模应用时,这种可智能切换的制冷/制热装置在节能方面展现出了巨大的应用潜力该设计策略能够为零能耗的热响应控温器件提供新的思路,并为实现能源的可持续发展提供新的途径。

Excellent outdoor thermal management is vital for public health and ***,the ever-changing and uncontrol-lable outdoor environmental conditions,such as irrepressible sunlight and drastic temperature fluctuations,bring majestic challenges to outdoor thermal ***,we report a significant advancement toward designing and fabricating a novel fiber membrane with a dual-function of radiative cooling and solar heating for an efficient daytime outdoor thermal *** the reported dual-mode thermal management materials,which are usually fabricated by compounding organic polymers and metal/inorganic non-metal materials,our fiber-based membrane is composed of only two polymers,i.e.,poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropene)(PVDF-HFP)and polypyrrole(PPy).The resulting membrane presents outstanding outdoor thermoregulation capacity,with a practically attainable sun-ambient cooling temperature of~4.5℃,super-ambient heating temperature of~35.8℃,in an outdoor environment,under solar intensity(Isolar)of~850 W m^(-2).Fabrication process is simple and cost-effective,which offers the possibility of preparing large-scale *** to the scalable and simple fabrication process,and the exceptional outdoor thermoregulation ability,this dual-mode fiber membrane has great potential to maintain a comfortable outdoor environment for human activities and industrial operations.

China is the largest solar water heater producer and market in the *** the fast growth and an installed capacity that accounts for the majority of the global gross,China's per capita solar hot water capacity is still very low,implying a huge margin of market potential;and the recognition of the industry in the global market is handicapped by the scattered scale of production and inconsistent product *** ensure continued growth of China's solar water heating(SWH) industry,Chinese Government has established a series of national SWH standards,three national testing centers,and a certification program to lay the foundation for the development of the Golden Sun product labeling *** General Certification Center(CGC) developed the Golden Sun product certification and labeling system on a pass/fail basis evaluating with established *** system was designed to help manufacturers acclimate to explicit consistent requirements and to identify and fix the deficiencies in the design and execution of the program *** revision and integration of the national standards are recommended to accommodate the test procedures and requirements to new technologies and the evolving SWH *** implementation of the Golden Sun certification and labeling system are suggested to avail improving the quality control and forging internationally reputable brands of Chinese solar water heating products.
