Towards High-Performance Graph Processing: From a Hardware/software Co-Design Perspective

Graph processing has been widely used in many scenarios,from scientific computing to artificial *** processing exhibits irregular computational parallelism and random memory accesses,unlike traditional ***,running graph processing workloads on conventional architectures(e.g.,CPUs and GPUs)often shows a significantly low compute-memory ratio with few performance benefits,which can be,in many cases,even slower than a specialized single-thread graph *** domain-specific hardware designs are essential for graph processing,it is still challenging to transform the hardware capability to performance boost without coupled software *** article presents a graph processing ecosystem from hardware to *** start by introducing a series of hardware accelerators as the foundation of this ***,the codesigned parallel graph systems and their distributed techniques are presented to support graph ***,we introduce our efforts on novel graph applications and hardware *** results show that various graph applications can be efficiently accelerated in this graph processing ecosystem.

New energy vehicles(NEVs) are gaining wider acceptance as the transportation sector is developing more environmentally friendly and sustainable technology. To solve problems of complex application scenarios and multi-sources heterogenous data for new energy vehicles and weak platform scalability,the framework of an intelligent decision support platform is proposed in this paper. The principle of software and hardware system is introduced. Hadoop is adopted as the software system architecture of the platform. Master-standby redundancy and dual-line redundancy ensure the reliability of the hardware system. In addition, the applications on the intelligent decision support platform in usage patterns recognition, energy consumption, battery state of health and battery safety analysis are also described.

The complexity nature of large-scale software systems

In software engineering, class diagrams are often used to describe the system＇s class structures in Unified Modelling Language （UML）. A class diagram, as a graph, is a collection of static declarative model elements, such as classes, interfaces, and the relationships of their connections with each other. In this paper, class graphs axe examined within several Java software systems provided by Sun and IBM, and some new features are found. For a large-scale Java software system, its in-degree distribution tends to an exponential distribution, while its out-degree and degree distributions reveal the power-law behaviour. And then a directed preferential-random model is established to describe the corresponding degree distribution features and evolve large-scale Java software systems.

This paper focuses on the question how to build an electronic support environment for knowledge creation in a research institute （JAIST）. In order to assess the importance of diverse conditions of scientific creativity, we performed a survey in JAIST, and extracted useful knowledge from the database of survey results. Following the analysis of the theory of academic processes of knowledge creation and the survey findings in JAIST, a computer-based integrated system is proposed. In the aspect of the system design, we postulate that an electronic support environment for academic creativity can be achieved through a seamless integration with Internet, Application Server, Middle Ware, Database and Data Warehouse. The paper addresses issues of knowledge representation in the Electronic Support system for academic research, testing and evaluation issues and conclusions.

Computer prediction system on solid/solid reaction kinetics

A computer software system of kinetic predication of solid/solid reaction, KinPreSSR, was developed using Visual C ++ and FoxPro. It includes two main modules, REACTION and DIFFUSION. KinPreSSR deals with the kinetics on the diffusion in solids as well as solid/solid reactions. The REACTION module in KinPreSSR was mainly described, which has organized the commonly recognized kinetic models, parameters, and employed both numerical and graphical methods for data analyses. The proper combination between the kinetic contents and the analytical methods enables users to use KinPreSSR for the evaluation and prediction of solid/solid reactions interested. As an example to show some of functions of KinPreSSR, the kinetics analysis for the reaction between SrCO 3 and TiO 2 powders to form SrTiO 3 with a series of kinetic data from isothermal measurements was demonstrated. With the advent of the information age, the industry is also developing in the direction of automation. The application of PLC and computer communication is more and more extensive. For small and medium-sized belt conveyors, the control system is usually controlled by relays, which has poor reliability, high labor intensity and low production efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a belt conveyor control device based on PLC. Based on this, the development and the existing problems of centralized control system are analyzed firstly. Then the working principle of PLC is briefly introduced. Next we generalized the structure and electrical requirements of the belt conveyor, and finally elaborated the design of the control system, including the main equipment required, system hardware circuit and software system. We also elaborates on the anti-interference related content. The system shows good operation through debugging and can play its function in practical applications.

This paper studied the condition monitoring system of workshop production, and built the framework, the overall hardware system architecture and software system design. Through the hardware analysis of production condition monitoring system, this research chose the temperature sensor with high performance, and applied two methods for data collection. EVOC produced by industrial control computer, and data acquisition card constituted the close-distance acquisition method, and based on RS-485 bus the data acquisition module constituted long-distance acquisition method. The relay output module completed the signal output function, control electromagnetic valve and alarm action.

A computer software on solid/solid reaction kinetics, Kin Pre SSR, is one of subsystems in the software, Intellectualized Database Management system on Kinetics of Metallurgy（IDMSKM）Kin Pre SSR is a Windows application developed using Visual C++ and Fox Pro, and includes two main modules, "DIFFUSION" and "REACTION"The ‘DIFFUSION’ module includes two sub-modules of "database management system（DBMS）" and "Evaluation ＆ prediction"The "DBMS" deals with the diffusion coefficients gathered from reported documents and the data evaluated according to some rules, besides, it can provide users with retrieval of diffusion coefficientsBased on the solutions to the Fick’s first law and the Fick’s second law in the four typical critical conditions, the "Evaluation ＆ prediction" sub-module gives the predication of concentration distribution after diffusion process in solids or computation for diffusion coefficient.
