The photosynthetic bacteria were isolated from shrimp sludge and characterized as a potential component for the purpose of nitrite *** isolate was presumed to be purple non-sulfur bacterium and most closely resembled *** resulted on the basis of its morphological and biochemical characteristics. The removal experiment of nitrite was determined through adding the various concentrations of nitrite from NaNOB(0.01,0.05,0.10,0.50,1.00,5.00 mmol 1P,respectively) into the glass bottles filled with malate-basal medium of ***,the effect of different carbon source(2.5 g 1P malic acid, sodium lactate,sodium acetate,sodium butyrate,sodium pyruvate and glucose,respectively) and carbon free(0 g 1P) in medium composition on nitrite removal was also studied at 1.00 mmol nitrite per *** results showed that *** could effectively remove the external nitrite although the initial concentrations of nitrite were different and the removal rates were associated with the light conditions and carbon sources of the culture media.
