Library's industrial technology information service in science parks—Taking NSL's practice as an example

Purpose:The purpose of this paper is to explore how libraries can develop service and product strategies and the service support mechanism to provide industrial technology information service in science ***/methodology/approach:The analysis is based on a case study of a large Chinese research library,National Science Library(NSL),the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS),in serving high-tech companies in Zhongguancun Science Park(Z-Park).Findings:NSL’s practices suggested that in serving business clients,libraries’ product and service strategies should be based on the understanding of users’ *** from those services that have been recognized by clients such as document retrieval & delivery and novelty search,libraries may expand their service and provide in-depth information analysis and consultation for some key ***,a service and product development system should be established,which differentiates the libraries’ products and services from those of their *** providing industrial technology information service,libraries need to construct the service support mechanism,publicize their service and learn to cooperate with clients to meet their demands for knowledge management and *** limitations:The generalizability of the findings is limited because they are based on an individual case *** implications:Our service practices provide useful information for other libraries to expand their information service to high-tech companies in the new information ***/value:Z-Park is the first and one of the largest science and technology parks in *** NSL’s practices in serving high-tech companies in Z-Park can be valuable to other libraries that intend to take up the similar service.

This paper studies whether the manufacturer with dual channels should carry out channel integration: BOPS（Buy-online-and-pick-up-in-store）. Theoretical model is established to find out the optimal pricing and service strategies of the manufacturer before and after the implementation of BOPS. The influences of consumer’s online shopping acceptance on pricing, service level are analyzed, and the comparison of manufacturer’s price, online and offline service level, profits before and after the implementation of BOPS, and applicable conditions for the implementation of BOPS are given by numerical simulation.

Innovative Drivers for New Business Value Creation

The service industry has generated a significant economic contribution to the Thai economy （approximately 50% of GDP）. In particular, the tourism industry and supporting industries have demonstrated impressive growth in business performance over the past decade. Cultivating the endowments of nature, people and physical infrastructure have been the driving forces and determinants for national competitive advantage. Since natural resources have long been over-exploited in Thailand, whilst new competition from neighbouring countries with fresh and unexploited environments have become formidable threats to the industry and Thai competitiveness. Furthermore, innovation approaches, conventionally focusing on the tangible resources: advanced technology, IT control, process improvement and physical environments, have become less competitive and make it difficult for customers to be able to distinguish new value propositions. Consequently, Thailand is striving to find a unique and competitive market position under intensified competition. The purpose of this study is to examine and conceptualize the driving factors for new business value creation approach through Thai Government Initiatives in tourism, hospitality and related industries. This paper investigates specific examples in southern Thailand where the legends and ancient wisdom have become rooted over decades and constitute significant constructive and creative cultural capital. The paper elaborates various areas of study, from expert opinions （16）, literature review, field observations and personal participation in developing the working process （8 cases as pilot service providers）. Characteristics of these determinants include （1） knowledge based service （2） creativity （3） market demand creation and these contribute to （4） new business value propositions. 为了在高度竞争的市场环境中获取竞争力，越来越多的企业从基于产品的供应战略转向基于价值服务的供应战略。本文基于对中国工业企业的调查数据，探索了服务供应链管理中服务化战略的表现形态：服务传递型战略、服务定制化战略和服务协同整合战略。研究结果表明不同的供需双方力量均衡状态对这三种服务化战略，以及关系资本和关系绩效的影响呈现出差异化状况。当供需双方力量均衡时，服务定制化战略对关系资本和合作绩效具有显著影响，而当供需双方力量不均衡时，关系资本和合作绩效更多的是受服务定制化战略以及服务协同整合战略的影响。

设计合理的服务机制以及制定完善的服务定价策略对于企业的发展至关重要，服务提供商通过设计合理的服务策略可以获得最优的服务收益。在会员制排队服务中，通常会存在会员顾客和非会员顾客两类顾客，服务非会员顾客势必会增加会员顾客的排队等待时间，进而引发会员顾客等待厌恶的心理。因此，本文以会员制排队服务为研究背景，针对市场中存在的会员顾客和非会员顾客，在服务提供商对两类顾客实施差异化定价时，研究会员顾客等待厌恶心理对服务提供商服务策略和服务定价的影响。结果表明，当会员顾客等待厌恶程度较小或适中时，服务提供商可以同时服务非会员顾客和会员顾客；当会员顾客等待厌恶程度较大时，服务提供商应该只服务会员顾客。此外，随着等待厌恶程度的增大，会员顾客的最优定价会先减小后增大，非会员顾客的最优定价会先保持不变后逐渐增大。本文的研究对于会员制服务提供商服务策略和服务价格的设定具有一定的指导作用和应用价值。
