＜正＞An advanced token access protocol used in optical burst-switched （OBS） ring network is proposed in this paper. OBS provides high throughput, high-bandwidth utilization, and low transmission latency. Several access protocols have been proposed which can be classified in three classes, depending on how receiver collisions are resolved. In this paper, we construct an architecture for a core DWDM network which utilizes the advanced token signaling scheme. In this OBS ring network, we use broadband wavclength tunable filter module （WTFM） to realize fast tunable wavelength receiver. This is the network scheme which has the feature of transmitting wavelengths collision free, traffic collision free when switching at the midst nodes and destination node, traffic collision free from the source node （can be solved by queue） and receiver collision free due to the advanced token access protocol. In this study, we consider the following two different classes of service traffic. The first class of traffic （Class 1） is a variable bit rate traffic with stringent end-to-end delay constraints, the second class （Class 2） is non-real time variable bit rate best effort traffic. In the advanced token access protocol, we take the new idea in which the token can be release before the traffic complete and the token can be captured according to the service class. The scheme can make best use of the bandwidth. The performance is analyzed by simulation. It can be seen from the simulation, the OBS network using this advanced token access protocol can make best use of the bandwidth of the OBS network.
