The retention index in micellar clectrokinetic capillary chromalography (MECC) has been analy/ed by the quantitative-structure retention relationship. A good linear relationship between the retention index in the SDS surfactant MHCC and the logP and logkw, values has been obtained; however, there is no such a linear relationship of retention index in the CIAB, DTAB surfactant MI.C’C versus logP and logkw values I he retention index in the culionic and anionic surfactant MFCC am be well correlated with the solvatochromic parameters of solutes. The molecular si/e and hydrogen bond interaction of solutes .make the most important contributions lo the retention index I he former has almost no relation with the surfactant property, and the latter depends on the properly of the surfactant used. Different surfactant MECCs offer different seleclivities for the separation of polar compounds

Covalent organic frameworks(COFs)are a new kind of crystalline porous materials composed of organic molecules connected by covalent bonds,processes the characteristics of low density,large specific surface area,adjustable pore size and structure,and easy to functionalize,which have been widely used in the field of membrane separation ***,there are more and more researches focusing on the preparation methods,separation application,and mechanism of COF membranes,which need to be further summarized and *** this review,we primarily summarized several conventional preparation methods,such as two-phase interfacial polymerization,in-situ growth on substrate,unidirectional diffusion method,layer-by-layer assembly method,mixed matrix membranes,and so *** advantages and disadvantages of each method are briefly *** application potential of COF membrane in liquid separation are introduced from four aspects:dyeing wastewater treatment,heavy metal removal,seawater desalination and oil-water ***,the mechanisms including pore structure,hydrophilic/hydrophobic,electrostatic repulsion/attraction and Donnan effect are *** the efficient removal of different kind of pollutions,researchers can select different ligands to construct membranes with specific pore size,hydrophily,salt or organic rejection ability and functional *** ideas for the design and preparation of COF membranes are ***,the future direction and challenges of the next generation of COF membranes in the field of separation are prospected.

Ultra-high purity Yb_(2)O_(3) is the critical material of many high-tech materials such as laser glass and fiber,in which impurities seriously affect the laser color quality,intensity and *** order to reduce the influence of impurities on the properties of laser materials,the purification process of Yb_(2)O_(3) was studied by comparing two kinds of resins(RT-1 and RS-1)using improved ion-exchange chromatography(IEC)*** this study,through the synergistic improvement of resin structure and eluting system,the environmental pollution caused by ammonia water in the traditional IEC method was reduced,and the requirements of high temperature and pressure were *** ion exchange behavior and impurity removal mechanism in the resin column during the loading and eluting process were compared and *** experimental results show that RS-1 resin is all superior to RT-1resin in elements selectivity,ion exchange capacity and impurities removal *** separation and purification by IEC with RS-1 resin,the total removal rate of rare earth impurities was 77.59%and that of non-rare earth impurities was 95.86%when Yb recovery was more than 70%,both higher than that of RT-1 resin(73.26%and 83.18%).This indicates that the improved IEC method is very effective in separating and removing different metal impurities from Yb_(2)O_(3).The pilot test results of IEC method separating and purifying Yb_(2)O_(3) with RS-1 resin show that the purity of Yb_(2)O_(3) can be increased from 99.9929%to 99.9997%by IEC *** has exhibited huge potential of preparing ultra-high purity Yb_(2)O_(3),especially the deep removal of non-rare earth impurities.

[EMIM][DCA] as an entrainer for the extractive distillation of methanol-ethanol-water system

The ionic liquid(IL)1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium dicyanamide([EMIM][DCA])was selected as an appropriate entrainer for the extractive distillation of the methanol-ethanol-water *** COSMO-RS model was applied to screen out the appropriate solvents considering selectivity and solvent capacity *** vapor-liquid equilibrium(VLE)experiments for the two systems of methanol-water and ethanol-water with different amounts of[EMIM][DCA]added were conducted at 101.3 *** experimental data showed that[EMIM][DCA]exhibits an obvious salting effect for the methanol(or ethanol)-water mixture and eliminates the azeotropic point of ***,the predicted values by UNIFAC-Lei model coincide well with experimental *** separation mechanism was further explained in combination with surface charge density distribution(σ-profiles),excess enthalpy(HE),and binding *** addition,the flow charts were designed to evaluate the improvement of energy consumption with[EMIM][DCA]as the entrainer when compared to ethylene glycol(EG).The simulation results demonstrated that[EMIM][DCA]is more energy efficient than EG.

The traditional separation of bicyclic and tricyclic aromatics from coal tar involves complicated multi-steps and consumes significantly more *** work accomplished the separation between anthracene-phenanthrene isomers using electrostatic interaction,but for the separation between bicyclic and tricyclic aromatics,electrostatic interactions are difficult to produce a recognizable ***-based solvents,named as naphthaleneacetamide,naphthaleneethanol,naphthalenemethanol,naphthol,naphthylacetic acid,naphthylacetonitrile,and naphthylamine,respectively,were used for the efficient separation of naphthalene and phenanthrene via dispersion *** showed that the pre-studied structural parameters are the key factors in selecting an efficient *** the substituents on the intermolecular interactions involved in the separation processes had an important impact,which were *** exhibited a superior performance with a purity of 96.3 wt%naphthalene products because its electron-donating substituent enables the selective recognition of naphthalene via the dispersion *** used naphthalene-based solvents can be regenerated and recycled via back extraction with a purity of over 90 wt%naphthalene products,suggesting solvent structural stability during the regeneration ***,the naphthalene-based solvents also demonstrated better separation performance for polycyclic aromatics from coal tar with a purity of over 80 wt%for bicyclic *** study would enhance the utilization of coal tar as a valuable source of polycyclic aromatics besides broadening the knowledge for applying non-bonded interaction in the separation of polycyclic aromatics technologies.
