The Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF)can be a tool for constructive and sustainable development only if it embraces win-win cooperation,follows free trade rules,and promotes unity,stability,and prosperity in the region,refraining from seeking selfish geopolitical interests by isolating China.FOLLOWING the release of the Indo-Pacific Strategy in early 2022,the Biden administration announced its plan to launch the IPEF in May.It is described as an effort to establish higher standards for digital trade,clean energy,supply chain safety,and the fight against tax evasion and corruption,and is expected to maintain the U.S’.s economic and trade dominance in the Indo-Pacific region.However,it encountered objections within the U.S.and doubts among regionalcountries.

Objective:To examine the magnitude of isolated anti-HBc and other HBV serological patterns and associated predictors among adults seeking general health check-up at a large health center in Vietnam.Methods:All 564 outpatients seeking general health checkup between January 2016 and December 2016 were asked to undertake HBV surface antigen,surface antibody,IgG and IgM core antibody(anti-HBc total),platelet counts,and liver function testing.An administered questionnaire was used to collect information regarding demography,in-house sources of infection,lifestyle,health condition and treatment,and HBV vaccination.Results:Male gender(P=0.043),age(P=0.000),living in urban areas(P=0.040),HBV vaccination status(P=0.033),and ALT(P=0.040) were associated with isolated anti-HBc.HBV infection was associated with HBV vaccination status(P=0.001),ALT levels(P=0.010),AST levels(P=0.020),and platelet counts(P=0.007).Past/resolved HBV infection was associated with AST levels(P=0.005),ALT levels(P=0.014),and age(P=0.000).Conclusions:Isolated anti-HBc is quite prevalent.Predictors of isolated anti-HBc include male gender,living in rural areas,and HBV non-vaccination.The prevalence of isolated anti-HBc also increases with age.To timely detect occult HBV infection and prevent transmission,anti-HBc testing should be included in the health check-up for high risk individuals and screening program where HBV nucleic acid test is not available.To prevent transmission,clinicians need to pay more attention on those who are at risk of having isolated anti-HBc and closely follow-up patients with isolated anti-HBc and educate them about the prevention of HBV infection.

For decades,plants have been the subject of genetic engineering to synthesize novel,value-added compounds.Polyhydroxyalkanoates(PHAs),a large class of biodegradable biopolymers naturally synthesized in eubacteria,are among the novel products that have been introduced to make use of plant acetyl-CoA metabolic pathways.It was hoped that renewable PHA production would help address environmental issues associated with the accumulation of nondegradable plastic wastes.However,after three decades of effort synthesizing PHAs,and in particular the simplest form polyhydroxybutyrate(PHB),and seeking to improve their production in plants,it has proven very difficult to reach a commercially profitable rate in a normally growing plant.This seems to be due to the growth defects associated with PHA production and accumulation in plant cells.Here,we review major breakthroughs that have been made in plant-based PHA synthesis using traditional genetic engineering approaches and discuss challenges that have been encountered.Then,from the point of view of plant synthetic biology,we provide perspectives on reprograming plant acetyl-CoA pathways for PHA production,with the goal of maximizing PHA yield while minimizing growth inhibition.Specifically,we suggest genetic elements that can be considered in genetic circuit design,approaches for nuclear genome and plastome modification,and the use of multiomics and mathematical modeling in understanding and restructuring plant metabolic pathways.

During May 2022,a total of 237 cases,131 confirmed cases and 106 suspected cases of monkeypox virus have been reported to WHO from many countries that are not endemic for monkeypox virus(MPXV).Epidemiological investigations demonstrated new cases neither had travel history to endemic areas nor direct contact with infected animals,mostly but not totally these new cases within groups of men who have sex with men(MSM)seeking care in primary care and sexual health clinics[1,2].
