This paper studies the short-term prediction methods of sectional passenger flow, and selects BP neural network combined with the characteristics of sectional passenger flow itself. With a case study, we design three different schemes. We use Matlab to realize the prediction of the sectional passenger flow of the Beijing subway Line 2 and make comparative analysis. The empirical research shows that combining data characteristics of sectional passenger flow with the BP neural network have good prediction accuracy.

Strategic Use of Politeness in EFL Business Writings--A Cros...

Being viewed as one of the major social constraints on human interaction, politeness has given impetus to decades of researches in pragmatics. Based on politeness theories of either Lakoff, Leech, or Brown and Levinson, a large body of studies has been devoted to this topic, investigating various politeness strategies available for performance of a certain type of linguistic action in a speech community, or cross-culture difference embodied in the application of specific strategies or in the concept of politeness. These researches, however, mainly work with conversations and few of them view linguistic politeness diachromcally in EFL context by giving attention to the individual difference of strategy user in terms of language proficiency development. The present study, inspired by previous literature, then ventures to explore linguistic politeness embodied in the written discourse of business letters. By way of quantitative and qualitative analysis, it tries to describe the strategic patterns of politeness application by EFL learners in business writings and in addition, to account for the intrinsic relationship between EFL proficiency and politeness application in a cross-sectional way, aiming to provide some useful clues for the teaching of business writing for EFL learners. Moreover, with its findings supporting the universality of politeness strategies, the present study further argues that while writing does not involve face to face contact, it is a form of interaction and the basic framework for the analysis of politeness can be extended to written texts.

Objective We aimed to explore Swiss physicians’views on the usefulness of a self-administered questionnaire completed by older drivers before the consultation and a reference guide summarising current Swiss guidelines on the fitness-to drive assessment of older *** also aimed to assess the frequency with which physicians used the information sources provided by the Swiss traffic medicine *** Questionnaire-based cross-sectional *** The study was conducted in four cantons of Western Switzerland(Geneva,Vaud,Neuchâtel and Jura).Participants All physicians certified to carry out fitness-to drive assessments in the canton of Geneva(medical assessors;n=69)and a random sample of 500 general practitioners practising in the cantons of Vaud,Neuchâtel and Jura were invited to *** were asked to report their estimated average number of fitness-to drive assessments per week and to rate on a 5-point Likert scale the perceived usefulness of the preconsultation patient questionnaire and reference guide,and the frequency of use of the information sources provided by the traffic medicine *** computed the proportion of physicians who found the assessment tools very/somewhat useful and the proportion of physicians who always/often used the traffic medicine *** compared the responses according to medical specialty(medical assessors vs general practitioners)using design-based F tests and weighted logistic *** 268 physicians(47%)agreed to participate in the *** median number of assessments was 2 per week(IQR 2).Overall,the majority of physicians found the questionnaire(75%)and reference guide(89%)very/somewhat *** 17%of the sample always/often used the traffic medicine *** were no statistically significant associations in multivariable analysis between the medical specialty and the perceived usefulness of the questionnaire and reference guide and the frequency of use of the traffic medicine webs

Objective The associations of physical multimorbidity with depressive symptoms have been investigated in a number of ***,whether patterns of chronic physical conditions have comparatively different associations with depressive symptoms remains *** study aimed to investigate the associations of physical multimorbidity patterns with depressive *** This study was designed as a nationwide cross-sectional survey in *** General sample of the Japanese *** Adult Japanese residents were selected by a quota sampling *** were analysed from 1788 residents who reported one or more chronic health *** Among four physical multimorbidity patterns:cardiovascular-renal metabolic(CRM),skeletal-articular digestive(SAD),respiratory-dermal(RDE)and malignant-digestive urologic(MDU),multivariable logistic regression analyses revealed that the RDE pattern showed the strongest association with depressive symptoms(aOR=1.68,95%CI:1.21 to 2.31 for the pattern score highest quartile,compared with the lowest quartile),followed by SAD and MDU patterns(aOR=1.41,95%CI:1.01 to 1.98 for the SAD pattern score highest quartile;1.41,95%CI:1.01 to 1.96 for the MDU pattern score highest quartile,compared with the lowest quartile).In contrast,the CRM pattern score was not significantly associated with depressive symptoms(aOR=1.31,95%CI:0.90 to 1.89 for the pattern score highest quartile,compared with the lowest quartile).Conclusions Physical multimorbidity patterns have different associations with depressive *** these patterns,patients with the RDE pattern may be at a higher risk for developing depressive *** study reinforces the evidence that cluster pattern of chronic health conditions is a useful measure for clinical management of multimorbidity as it is differently associated with mental health status,which is one of the crucial outcomes for multimorbid patients.
