This paper studies consensus control problems for a class of second-order multi-agent systems without relative velocity measurement. Some dynamic neighbour-based rules are adopted for the agents in the presence of external disturbances. A sufficient condition is derived to make all agents achieve consensus while satisfying desired H∞ performance. Finally, numerical simulations are provided to show the effectiveness of our theoretical results.

This paper investigates the consensus tracking problems of second-order multi-agent systems with a virtual leader via event-triggered control. A novel distributed event-triggered transmission scheme is proposed, which is intermittently examined at constant sampling instants. Only partial neighbor information and local measurements are required for event detection. Then the corresponding event-triggered consensus tracking protocol is presented to guarantee second-order multi-agent systems to achieve consensus tracking. Numerical simulations are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

The bounded consensus tracking problems of second-order multi-agent systems under directed networks with sam- pling delay are addressed in this paper. When the sampling delay is more than a sampling period, new protocols based on sampled-data control are proposed so that each agent can track the time-varying reference state of the virtual leader. By using the delay decomposition approach, the augmented matrix method, and the frequency domain analysis, necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained, which guarantee that the bounded consensus tracking is realized. Furthermore, some numerical simulations are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

To solve the dynamical consensus problem of second-order multi-agent systems with communication delay,delay-dependent compensations are added into the normal asynchronously-coupled consensus algorithm so as to make the agents achieve a dynamical consensus. Based on frequency-domain analysis, sufficient conditions are gained for second-order multi-agent systems with communication delay under leaderless and leader-following consensus algorithms respectively. Simulation illustrates the correctness of the results.

In this paper, the consensus problem of second-order multi-agent systems with nonuniform time-delays and dynamically changing topologies is studied. A linear consensus protocol with nonuniform time-delays is developed for multi-agent systems. A sufficient condition in terms of linear matrix inequalities is established to solve the consensus problems under dynamically changing topologies(even when the communication topologies is not connected all the time). A numerical example is provided to illustrate the significance of our theoretical results.

This paper investigates the resource allocation problems for a class of second-order multi-agent systems with timevarying disturbances, where each agent only knows its own state information, its local cost function, and the state information of its neighbors. The aim is to design a distributed resource allocation algorithm such that the agents can make appropriate decisions to minimize the global cost function under the constraint of network resources and time-varying disturbances, where the global cost function is the sum of all local cost functions. In order to achieve the purpose of disturbance rejection, the paper proposes a new distributed resource allocation algorithm based on active disturbance rejection control, which is composed of disturbance compensation term, state feedback term and local gradient descent term. Moreover, based on the convex analysis and Lyapunov stability analysis methods, we prove that when the time tends to infinity, the decisions of the agents converge to any small neighborhood of the optimal resource allocation under the time-varying disturbances. Finally, the simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed optimization algorithm.

In this paper, distributed containment control problems of the second-order multi-agent systems under the undirected communication topology are investigated. Based on the LaSalle’s Invariance Principle and the control protocols proposed in this paper, some necessary and sufficient conditions for the achievement of containment control are respectively proposed in the presence of multiple stationary leaders and multiple dynamic leaders. Finally, several simulation results are presented to support the effectiveness of our theoretical results.

In this paper, the consensus problem is investigated for a general protocol of second-order multi-agent systems with diverse time delays. Different from the existing results, in this paper different consensus dynamics including linear, periodic and positive exponential dynamics can be realized by selecting different gains. Through matrix theory and frequency domain analysis, a sufficient consensus condition is obtained. Simulation results illustrate the correctness of the results.
