Evaluation of CHAMP satellite orbit with SLR Measurements

The technique of Evaluating CHAMP satellite orbit with SLR measurements is presented. As an independent evaluation of the orbit solution, SLR data observed from January 1 to 16, 2002 are processed to compute the residuals after fixing the GFZ’s post science orbits solutions. The SLR residuals are computed as the differences of the SLR measurements minus the corresponding distances between the SLR station and the GPS-derived orbit positions. On the basis of the SLR residuals analysis, it is found that the accuracy of GFZ’s post science orbits is better than 10 cm and that there is no systematic error in GFZ’s post science orbits.

Comparison of Linearized Kalman Filter and Extended Kalman Filter for satellite Motion States Estimation

Autonomous constellation navigation is an important means for improving the continuous delivery of services by satellite navigation systems when experiencing conditions such as major disasters and failure of ground operation control *** is also a useful supplement to the normal operation and control mode,which can reduce dependence on the ground facilities while lowering operating *** article introduces a method for evaluating experiments on the autonomous constellation navigation of satellite navigation *** experiments were based on 12 days of BDS-3 satellite observation *** evaluation results show that for the 12 days of autonomous constellation navigation,the user range error of the satellite orbit was 2.5 m,the accuracy of clock error was 3 ns,and the timekeeping accuracy was approximately 1373 *** pseudorange observation data of 7 domestic stations and 10 global stations of the International GNSS Monitoring and Assessment System（iGMAS） was used to evaluate the positioning *** results show a single-frequency horizontal positioning accuracy of 7.4 m,an altitude positioning accuracy of 9.6 m,a dualfrequency horizontal positioning accuracy of 7.1 m,and an elevation positioning accuracy of 8.9 *** on the results of the experiment,this paper analyses the time-space reference drift problem that affects the accuracy of autonomous navinavigation space signals and proposes an optimized solution.

Principal component analysis and cluster analysis based orbit optimization for earth observation satellites

This paper proposes a design optimization method for the multi-objective orbit design of earth observation satellites, for which the optimality of orbit performance indices with different units, such as: total coverage time, the frequency of coverage, average time per coverage and maximum coverage gap, etc. is required simultaneously. By introducing index normalization method to convert performance indices into dimensionless variables within the range of [0, 1], a design optimization method based on the principal component analysis and cluster analysis is proposed, which consists of index normalization method, principal component analysis, multiple-level cluster analysis and weighted evaluation method. The results of orbit optimization for earth observation satellites show that the optimal orbit can be obtained by using the proposed method. The principal component analysis can reduce the total number of indices with a non-independent relationship to save computing time. Similarly, the multiple-level cluster analysis with parallel computing could save computing time.
