Unlike actively moving animals,plants actively change their body architecture via growth of their diverse organs in response to environmental clues and *** example,changes in Arabidopsis thaliana root apex zonation under phosphate(Pi)deficiency is considered to be such an active response,including inhibition of primary root elongation and increasing densities of lateral roots and root hairs(Abel,2017).However,a recent study by Zheng et al.(2019)modifies this hypothesis,which is based on the transparent Petri dish-based culture method of young Arabidopsis seedlings causing illumination of *** this issue,Zheng et al.(2019)report that Pi deficiency not only increases malate secretion from Arabidopsis root apices via the ALMT1 transporter but also that blue light(BL)triggers a malate-mediated photo-Fenton reaction in the rhizosphere,increasing the OH radical levels.

Under artificially-simulated complex salt-alkali stress, the levels of active oxygen metabolism in roots were studied using three-year-old cutting seedlings of Spiraea × bumalda ‘Gold Mound＇ and Spiraea × bumalda ‘Gold Flame＇. The present study aimed at exploring the antioxidant capacity in roots of spiraeas and revealing their adaptability to salt-alkali stress. Results indicate that the oxygen free radicals contents, electrolyte leakage rates and MDA contents in roots of Spiraea × bumalda ＇Gold Mound＇ and Spiraea × bumalda ＇Gold Flame＇ show an increasing tendency with the increases of the salinity and pH value, whereas the activities of superoxide dismutase （SOD）, peroxidase （POD） and catalase （CAT） all increased firstly and then decreased. With the increase in intensity of salt-alkali stress, the CAT activity in roots of Spiraea × bumalda ‘Gold Flame＇ is higher and the increasing extents in the oxygen free radicals contents, electrolyte leakage rates as well as MDA contents are lower compared with Spiraea × bumalda ‘Gold Mound＇, indicating that Spiraea × bumalda ‘Gold Flame＇ has a stronger antioxidant capacity.

Nicotine is a secondary substance synthesized in tobacco roots. In flue-cured tobacco planting, tobacco decapitation is an effective practice to promote nicotine biosynthesis by regulation of the redistribution of total nitrogen amounts. However, proteins relevant to nicotine synthesis in tobacco roots has not been identified and characterized yet. It is important to explore the regulation of nicotine biosynthesis in tobacco roots. To identify the proteins relevant to nicotine synthesis, the protein patterns in roots of flue-cured tobacco （cv. K326） before and after decapitation were analyzed. In the present study, the protein patterns in roots of flue-cured tobacco were analyzed by two-dimensional electrophoresis （2-DE）, and the differentially-expressed spots were identified by matrix assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spectrometry （MALDI-TOF-MS）. Paired comparison of 2-DE maps revealed 26 spots of differentially-expressed proteins in roots before and after decapitation. Furthermore, nine differentially-expressed spots were identified. There were four proteins which were enzymes possibly involved in nicotine biosynthesis. In addition, the roles of the four enzymes in nicotine biosynthesis were discussed in a putative network. Our results would contribute to the understanding of the regulation pathway of nicotine biosynthesis and further to the molecular manipulation on the nicotine contents in flue-cured tobacco.

Objective To evaluate the incidence of two-rooted mandibular premolar morphology using full-mouth periapical film series in a Chinese population,with particular emphasis on bilateral incidence,so as to provide a clinical anatomical basis for root canal treatment in mandibular *** A total of 2015 patients who underwent dental treatment and had full mouth periapical radiographs at the Peking University School of Stomatology from April 2011 to April 2012 were enrolled in this *** experienced dentists reviewed the patients' periapical films and classified the root morphology of mandibular premolars *** incidence of unilateral and bilateral double roots were recorded and calculated,including confirmed and suspected bucco-lingual root *** In terms of the morphology of two-rooted mandibular first premolars,of the 2015 cases with complete root formation,two-rooted first premolars were detected in 120 cases,with a total number of 159 *** to the number of teeth,the overall incidence of double roots was 4.03%(159/3972).In terms of the morphology of two-rooted mandibular second premolars,of the 2015 cases with complete root formation,two-rooted second premolars were detected in 24 cases,with a total number of 33 *** to the number of teeth,the overall incidence of double roots was 0.85%(33/3880).Conclusions The roots of mandibular premolars display specific morphological *** on a large sample,we observed and calculated not only the occurrence rate of bucco-lingual and mesio-distal double roots in first and second mandibular premolars,but also the incidence of unilateral or bilateral double roots within the same *** findings could provide useful information on the anatomical structure of mandibular premolars for endodontic,prosthodontic and surgical procedures,and could improve the quality of treatment and reduce complications.

In this paper,by using the theory of adjoint polynomials, a negative answer to a problem posed by Brenti et al. is given and the following results are obtained:For any positive integer a and rational number 0≤c≤1,there exists at least a graph sequence {G i} 1≤i≤a such that G i is σ-unreal and δ(G i)→c as n→∞ for all 1≤i≤a,and moreover, δ(n)→0 as n→∞.

Objective:To explore the phytochemical constituents from petroleum ether and diehloromethane extracts of Moringa oleifera(***)roots using GC/GC—***:A total of 5.11 kg fresh and undried crashed root of *** were cut into small pieces and extracted with petroleum ether and diehloromethane(20 ***) at room temperature for 2 *** concentrated extracts were subjected to their GC—MS ***:The GC-MS analysis of the petroleum ether and diehloromethane extracts of *** roots,which showed promising biological activities,has resulted in the identification 102 *** constituents belong to 15 classes of compounds including hydrocarbons,fatty acids,esters,alcohols,***,pyrazine,***,steroids,*** and N-hydroxyimine derivatives,unsaturated *** and ***/GC-MS studies on petroleum ether extraet of the roots revealed that it contained 39 compounds,belonging to nine *** S8 has been isolated as a pure compound from the *** major compounds identified from petroleum ether extract were trans-13-clocosene(37.9%).nonacosane(32.6%).cycloartenol(28.6%) nonadecanoic acid(13.9%) and cyclooctasulfur S8(13.9%).Dichloromethane extract of the roots was composed of 63 compounds of which nasimizinol(58.8%) along with oleic acid(46.5%),N—benzyl-N-(7—cyanato heptanamide(38.3%),N—benzyl-N—(1—chlorononyl) amide(30.3%),bis[3—benzyl prop-2-ene]-1-one(19.5%) and N.N-dibeuzyl—2-ene pent 1.5—diamide(11.6%) were the main ***:This study helps to predict the formula and structure of active molecules which can be used as *** result also enhances the traditional usage of *** which possesses a number of bioactive compounds.
