Spatiotemporal changes in air temperature and humidity associated with the restoration of an innercity stream in Seoul, Korea, are investigated based on long-term monitoring data. The Cheonggye stream, covered under a concrete structure for 46 years, was restored in 2005 and runs 5.8 km eastward through a central region of Seoul. Long-term monitoring of the air temperature and relative humidity was made along the stream throughout the restoration and across the stream after the restoration. The area along the stream had a higher air temperature than the entire metropolitan area. The temperature anomaly between the monitoring area and the surrounding metropolitan area was 0.13℃ lower on average at the center of the stream after the restoration. The stream＇s effect on the air temperature was also evident in the temperature distribution along a street traversing the stream. The relative and specific humidities were increased due to the restoration. The restored stream modified the nearby urban climate in the opposite direction compared to urbanization. The results could be used as a model case in mitigating urban climate by a stream in future urban planning practices.

1 Introduction 1.1 River ecosystem degradation Over the past century,almost throughout the whole world,streams and rivers have been heavily polluted and morphologically degraded due to industrial,household and agricultural sources,leading to significant declines in biodiversity,water quality and ultimately water supply[1-5].In the last decades,river system design has been practiced from an engineering viewpoint that focuses on water abstraction,sanitation,generation of energy,transportation and safety,rather than from a socio-ecological *** technical management altered the understanding of a functioning river system itself and its social context.

Rejuvenation heat treatments can restore the microstructures and mechanical properties of the degraded turbine blades in gas turbine *** we analyze the effects of rejuvenation heat treatments on the microstructural characteristics and mechanical properties of damaged and undamaged specimens of a Ni-based superalloy,*** damaged specimens were found to have degraded microstructures and shorter creep lifetime than the undamaged *** rejuvenation heat treatment proved beneficial,especially for specimens exposed to damage for 50 *** addition,the microstructure recovery and creep life were found to depend on the predamage durations of the specimens.A y’-precipitate-based creep lifetime model was established to predict the residual lifetime based on the microstructural information.

Due to the high penetration of renewable distributed generation(RDG),many issues have become conspicuous during the intentional island operation such as the power mismatch of load shedding during the transition process and the power imbalance during the restoration *** this paper,a phase measurement unit(PMU)based online load shedding strategy and a conservation voltage reduction(CVR)based multi-period restoration strategy are proposed for the intentional island with *** proposed load shedding strategy,which is driven by the blackout event,consists of the load shedding optimization and correction *** the occurrence of the large-scale blackout,the load shedding optimization is solved periodically to obtain the optimal load shedding plan,which meets the dynamic and steady *** the blackout occurs,the correction table updated in real time based on the PMU data is used to modify the load shedding plan to eliminate the power mismatch caused by the fluctuation of *** the system transits to the intentional island seamlessly,multi-period restoration plans are generated to optimize the restoration performance while maintaining power balance until the main grid is ***,CVR technology is implemented to restore more loads by regulating load *** proposed load shedding optimization and restoration optimization are linearized to mixed-integer quadratic constraint programming(MIQCP)*** effectiveness of the proposed strategies is verified with the modified IEEE 33-node system on the real-time digital simulation(RTDS)platform.

Numerous studies on eutrophication remediation have mainly focused on purifying water first, then restoring submerged macrophytes. A restoration-promoting integrated floating bed （RPIFB） was designed to combine the processes of water purification and macrophyte restoration simultaneously. Two outdoor experiments were conducted to evaluate the ecological functions of the RP1FB. Trial 1 was conducted to compare the eutrophication purification among floating bed, gradual-submerging bed （GSB） and RPIFB technologies. The results illustrated that RPIFB has the best purification capacity. Removal efficiencies of RPIFB for TN, TP,NH4＋-N, NO3-N, CODcr, Chlorophyll-a and turbidity were 74.45%, 98.31%, 74.71%, 88.81%, 71.42%, 90.17% and 85%, respectively. In trial 2, influences of depth of GSB and photic area in RPIFB on biota were investigated. When the depth of GSB decreased and the photic area of RPIFB grew, the height of Potamogeton crispus Linn. increased, but the biomass of Canna indica Linn. was reduced. The mortalities of Misgurnus anguillicaudatus and Bellamya aeruginosa in each group were all less than 7%. All results indicated that when the RPIFB was embedded into the eutrophic water, the regime shift from phytoplankton-dominated to macrophyte-dominated state could be promoted. Thus, the RPIFB is a promising remediation technology for eutrophication and submerged macrophyte restoration.

This article aims at telling the story of restoration and exhibition of the Section of Arms and Armours （the Outer Treasury） in Topkapl Palace Museum. During this process, not only was the structure experiencing restoration and consolidation, but also was the first archeological excavation being realized in a closed space in the Topkapl Palace complex, with the discovery of Byzantine reminiscences underground becoming a significant part of the new exhibiton. After being restored between 2008 and 2010, the Outer Treasury was transformed into a new exhibition project, aiming at the integration of contemporary strategies of exhibition design and technology. Its purpose was not simply to highlight the glory of the Ottoman history, but to engage visitors in a complete sensory experience by making full use of the esthetics of the work of art on display of the Ottoman legacy. Topkapi Palace＇s architecture, archeology and selected collection of arms and armours are being exhibited by means of contemporary media instruments, such as film, music, graphics and costume arts.

The key to the restoration of rotational motion blurred image is how to restore the image under a low cost and to correct the irreversibility of the degradation function matrix. Based on the special qualities of degradation function matrix and precise deduction in space-domain, we present a new approach using gradient-loading for restoration of rotational blurred image. By easily adding a gradient operator, the irreversibility of the original matrix is corrected and can be applied for inverse filtering then. Gradient- loading is the optimized approach which combines the advantages of both the approaches using constrained least square filtering and traditional diagonal-loading. Compared with the approach using least square filtering, its peak signal-to-noise ratio （PSNR） is improved from 3.18 to 6.46 dB, while the computing time is reduced to 1/2 - 1/3. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness, noise-resistibility, robustness, and low complexity of this approach, which make it more suitable for real-time environment.

A semi-blind image restoration algorithm is proposed based on reduced non-convex approximation of Luminita Vese and Tony Chan＇s （C-V） denoising model. Compared with C-V denoising model, we modify the fidelity term and add a term on point spread function （PSF）. The function depends on two variables： the image function to be restored u and the standard deviation of Gaussian kernel to be estimated a. Then the problems consist in solving a system with two coupled equations. Compared with the Leah Bar＇s semi-blind image restoration model which must solve three coupled equations, our method only needs to solve two equations. Furthermore, the estimation of f by our algorithm is superior to Leah Bar＇s algorithm. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method is effective.
