Localized surface plasmon resonances(LSPRs)in metal nanostructures have been a central subject of nano-photonics due to their ability to manipulate light beyond the optical diffraction limit.Nevertheless,the large intrinsic dissipations of LSPRs have severely hindered their applications,so the on-demand control of the LSPR modes is highly desired and remains open yet.Here,we experimentally and theoretically demonstrate that the plasmon mode can be effectively engineered by interacting with constructive or destructive modes supported by film interference.When a metal nanoparticle interacts with a constructive mode,the dissipation linewidth of its LSPR mode shows a significant reduction of 58%.Simultaneously,the scattering intensity is remarkably enhanced,in vast favor of measuring weak signals from small nanoparticles.Furthermore,the film-destructiveinterference splitting in the scattering spectrum by weak coupling,rather than strong coupling,is revealed if the plasmon particles interact with the destructive mode,resulting in two new hybrid plasmon modes with narrow linewidths.The effective polarizability model of reshaping the LSPR modes by the film interference is present to well understand the experimental observations.Our work may pave the way toward low-loss plasmonic photonics and its practical applications.

This study presents a novel impact time and angle constrained guidance law for homing missiles. The guidance law is first developed with the prior-assumption of a stationary target, which is followed by the practical extension to a maneuvering target scenario. To derive the closed-form guidance law, the trajectory reshaping technique is utilized and it results in defining a specific polynomial function with two unknown coefficients. These coefficients are determined to satisfy the impact time and angle constraints as well as the zero miss distance. Furthermore, the proposed guidance law has three additional guidance gains as design parameters which make it possible to adjust the guided trajectory according to the operational conditions and missile's capability.Numerical simulations are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed guidance law.

The combining site of OKT3 was modeled,and Human Ig LS1 and ND were selected asacceptors of CDRs of OKT3 VL and VH to construct a reshaping antibody against CD3.Bycomparing OKT3,LS1 and ND,with their own family sequences,some residues werechanged and the reshaping VL and VH genes were designed.The full VH gene was assem-bled in three steps with eight chemically synthesized oligonucleotide fragments using over-lapping PCR and sequenced.The VH gene was expressed as active protein and inclusion bod-ies in the vectors of pCOMB3 and pGEX-4T-1 by ELISA and Western blot analysis.

Two vectors, pWA180 and pROH80, for expression of single-chain Fv fragments (ScFv) were con-siruciea. (?)ne anti-CD3 VH and VL genes were amplified from UCHTl cells by RT-PCR and sequenced. Both genes were cloned in pWA180 to express native ScFv and pROH80 for GST-ScFv fusion protein expression. The expression products were analysed by ELISA and Western blot. The combining site of OKT3 was modeled. Human [g LS1 and Nd were selected as acceptors of CDRs of OKT3 VL and VH to construct a reshaping antibody against CD3. By com-paring OKT3, LS1 and Nd with their own family sequences, some residues were changed and the reshaping VL and VH genes were designed. The full VH gene was assembled in three steps with eight chemically synthesized oligonu-cleotide fragments using overlapping PCR and sequenced. The VH gene was expressed as active protein in pCOMB3 and as inclusion bodies in pGEX-4T-l by ELISA and Western blot analysis.

Aim: The post-bariatric patients who undergo torsoplasty often incur postoperative complications that dilate their recovery time. The authors propose the technique of extended abdominoplasty, described in 2012 for aesthetic torso remodeling, in post-bariatric patients in order to reduce complications and hospitalization time. Methods: The authors performed 21 extended abdominoplasties and compared them with 21 torsoplasties in post-bariatric patients during a 1-year period. Data studied was age, gender, duration of the procedure, blood loss, complications and hospitalization duration. Results: Peri and postoperative bleeding led to 3 cases of anemia necessitating blood transfusions in 14.3% of the second group;no blood transfusion was needed in the first group. No other major complications occurred during the postoperative period in both groups. Conclusion: The authors believe that extended abdominoplasty is a viable alternative to the torsoplasty in selected patients presenting a severe adipocutaneous circumferential laxity, as occurs in post-bariatric patients with a significant weight loss.

Thermal Stability and Hot Carrier Dynamics of Gold Nanoparticles of Different Shapes

Anisotropic shapes of gold nanoparticles are prepared using a modified seed method in the presence of silver ions or clusters in order to study the thermal stability and the dynamics of the hot carriers induced by femtosecond laser pulses. Although gold nanospheres are stable towards thermal treatment, the decomposition of the gold nanorods into spherical nanoparticle aggregates upon thermal treatment is mechanistically different from the case of nanoprisms. Great enhancement of thermal stability is achieved by modifying the surface of the nanoparticles by adding specific amounts of polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) after preparation of gold particles of different shapes capped with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). The surface plasmon resonance spectra of the gold nanostructures are used to monitor their morphological changes. In regards to the hot carrier dynamics, it is found that the phonon-phonon (ph-ph) coupling is much slower in dots than in rods and prisms while electron-phonon (e-ph) coupling is almost the same in these particles.
