To satisfy the service conditions of TISCO 4 350 m^3 blast furnace and the requirements to taphole clay, the study on the taphole clay for large blast furnace was carried out. The taphole clay with good workability, opening ability and high-temperature performance was prepared by optimizing raw materials, grain size distribution, binder selection, etc. The trail application in TISCO 4 350 m^3 blast furnace showed that the newlydeveloped taphole clay had a satisfactory performance.

The output of scientific and technical papers is an important indicator of a country’s technological innovation capability and scientific *** seven indicators are selected in this paper to establish a model of grey relational analysis,obtain the grey incidence order of the influence of scientific and technological input factors on the quantity of papers indexed by three international principal index *** is important to evaluate the level of science and research reasonably and to make policy of basic *** seven indicators are:scientific and technical personnel,research and development full-time equivalent staff,the amount of science and technology raising funds,internal expenditures of science and technology funds,research and experimental development expenditures,research and experimental development expenditures as a percentage of GDP,and the quantity of papers indexed by three international principal index systems.

The new type of blast furnace expert system, in which the producing specialties and operation habits of domestic blast furnace are fully considered, is researched and developed by Shougang. In the system, an operation platform for blast furnace operators was well established based on the major functions such as blast furnace condition diagnosis, charging control, abnormal furnace condition disposal, blast furnace mathematic simulation, etc. Moreover, new thoughts and methods of blast furnace automatic control were brought forward. In this paper, the research and development works of Shougang blast furnace expert system are presented, as well as the application instances and innovation aspects. And also the effect of system modules such as materials quality control, abnormal furnace condition diagnosis, furnace condition disposal advice and mathematic models is discussed.

Gestures, besides speech, represent the mostly used means of expression by humans. For that regards the product design field, designers have multiple ways for communicating their ideas and concepts. One of them concerns the model making activity, where designers make explicit their concepts by using some appropriate tools and specific hand movements on plastic material with the intent of obtaining a shape. Some studies have demonstrated that visual, tactile and kinesthetic feedbacks are equally important in the shape creation and evaluation process. Moreover current computer aided tools aimed at supporting the conceptual phase of product design are not intuitive to use, and do not exploit designers’ skill and creativity. This paper presents the results of a research work aiming at integrating user-friendly and effective ways of interaction based on ad-hoc haptic interfaces into free-form shape modeling systems. The European project "Touch and Design" （T’nD） proposes the implementation of an innovative virtual clay modeling system based on novel haptic interaction modality oriented to industrial designers. In order to develop an intuitive and easy-to-use system, a study of designers’ hand modeling activities has been carried out by the project industrial partners supported by cognitive psychologists. The users’ manual operators and tools have been translated into corresponding haptic tools and multimodal interaction modalities in the virtual free-form shape modeling system. The paper presents the project research activities, the results achieved so far and the future related work.

Coal gasification technology is the base for the process industries of coal-based chemical products(such as ammonia,methanol and DME), liquid fuel, advanced IGCC power generation, poly-generation,hydrogen, fuel cell et al.. It is the common and key technology of these industries. In this paper, the features ofOpposed Multi-Burner (OMB) gasification technology, method and process of research and development, andthe operation results of pilot plant and demonstration plants have been introduced. The operation results ofdemonstration plants show that when Beisu coal as feedstock, OMB CWS gasification process in YankuangCathy Coal Co. Ltd. has higher carbon conversion by 3 percent points, lower specific oxygen consumption by%, and lower specific carbon consumption by 2% than that of Texaco CWS gasification in LunanFertilizer Plant. When Shenfu coal as feedstock, OMB CWS gasification process in Hua-lu Heng-shengChemical Co. Ltd has higher carbon conversion by more than 3 percent points, lower specific oxygenconsumption by %, and lower specific coal consumption by % than that of Texaco CWS gasificationprocess in Shanghai Coking & Chemical Corporation. OMB CWS gasification technology is proven byindustrial experience to have high product yield, low oxygen and coal consumption and robust and safeoperation
