The ability to fix heterosis or hybrid vigor in crops without crossing holds great potential for crop yield improvement and global food security. Recent studies in Nature and Nature Biotechnology from two independent groups demonstrate the feasibility of clonal propagation of hybrids by engineering changes in meiosis and embryogenesis. These synthetic apomixis technologies represent a watershed moment for both understanding the fundamental basis of heterosis and plant breeding.

The behavior of shear modulus in solid-liquid mixing phase has been discussed and analyzed. The result was concluded that shear modulus went to zero as the melting mass ratio attained a critical value. The percolation theory model we pro-posed showed that this value was about 0.68742. The melting-induced destabilizing factor of material proposed by us can represent phenomenologically the change of shear modulus in melting process.

There are many different views among scholars about the motif of Hawthome's "Red Cross".In my opinion,the most meaningful view is from an American critic.He said that "Red Cross" is a novel describing the divergence between natural man and social man.As my part,this divergence can be understood on two levels.The first is the conflict between thongs of people represent the benefits of natural man and the other throngs of people represent the social man's benefits;the second is the conflict of natural character and social character in everybody's soul.The author tried to make those two conflicts to a certain agreement,and ended with a concordant state.Then who win? 20世纪80年代末、90年代初，随着伯明翰当代文化研究中心等具有实体性质的文化研究机构的消失，文化研究史书写中出现了一种“去中心化”趋势，澳大利亚文化研究因此屏显在了“三A轴心”帝国之中，联袂英国文化研究、美国文化研究，合力支配全球文化研究。表面上，澳大利亚文化研究获得了与英国文化研究、美国文化研究大致相同的能见度，但实际上，它所得到的是一种与遮蔽并存的屏显——屏/蔽。

Identity is the crucial characteristic to people, as it is the defining factors of what they are and what they are not. It concludes lots of things, and among which, the national identity and regional identity are the most important ones; though they are often confused in some occasions. Therefore, this essay discusses the question of the relationship of these two identities with the examples of two British films- Bloody Sunday and Kes. From the discussion, it concludes that though on some degree the regional identity can be represented by the national identity, it cannot be fully represented. However, as the main trend in today’s society is globalization, maybe in the future the regional identity will be fully represented by national identity.
