A new virtual age repair model with non-uniform aging speed is presented on the basis of Kijima classical virtual age repair models which can be viewed as of uniform aging *** this model are included three types,of perfect,of imperfect and of minimal,all having a non-uniform aging *** of expected count of repair and length of working time of these three models are derived,and numerical examples are also given to illustrate and verify obtained theoretical *** an extended work,a sketchy model of maintenance time of the non-uniform aging virtual age repair model is ***,the three models discussed in the paper,each with non-uniform aging speed,are expansions to existing virtual age repair models,relevant formulas given here are new results,and the systems introduced are without the lifetime distribution assumption,all of which may be expected to improve maintenance work.

Nowadays, shipping industry which is the backbone of economic development has affiliated to ship maintenance and repair industry. This industry provides technical maintenance services to ships in a way to enable them to meet the requirements and regulations of the International Maritime Organization and maintaining the vessels at high technical standard & continual seaworthiness condition. Maintaining the minimum requirement of classification societies on the ships is solely taken place with repairs. The research method is an applied study in sake of aim and a descriptive study in sake of nature. This research has been conducted to examine causes and factors contributed to failures repairing in dry docks in the country;using the obtained results, an approach has been presented to reduce obstacles existing in country and reach to standard international levels. The problems include lack of suitable strategy, lack of government support, governmental facet of the structure of this sector, cumbersome laws, customs problems, lack of specialized workshops, low levels of technology and lack of new technology etc. Thus, by taking amendment to the cumbersome rules, taking advantage of industry and modern technology experts, increasing productivity and competitiveness, centralizing active domestic and foreign workshops at private sector, facilitating timely supply of parts and accessories, using research and development sector, increasing quality, reducing costs and repair time, selecting secure industrial- trade partner and etc. can pave the way in this context.

Whether from a liberal or a radical perspective, the transition to modernity has been hailed not only as a great achievement but as providing the cultural and institutional foundations for a good society. Yet, modernity has been driven by terrible social stsains, immense conflicts, searing social stigmas, and radical exclusion. A satisfactory social theory must conceptualize the dark side of modernity as well as the ligt. This essay identifies nine dangerous frictions inherent in modernity and also defines mechanisms for their possible repair. Critics of modernity have ignored the fact that it does provide self-correcting capacities, though these capacities are never fully developed and never adequately applied.

Hypospadias: an algorithm for repair with the aid of the microscope in 102 patients

Aim: To demonstrate an algorithmic approach to hypospadias repair with the aid of the surgical microscope as a teaching aid, as well as an ergonomic tool. Methods: One hundred and two patients were operated on between 2009 and 2013, all by the senior surgeon (M Dalal). This is a retrospective review of results in the case series. The procedures used were one stage repair with no incision of the urethral plate, or the two stage Bracka repair. Results:Fifty-six patients underwent the one stage procedure and 46 patients underwent the two stage Bracka repair. Early complication rate was 4.9% (n = 5) and late complication rate was 10.7%(n = 11). The fistula rate specific to one stage and two stage procedures was 5.3% (n = 3) and 13% (n = 6) respectively. Conclusion: A structured approach to hypospadias surgery will aid the surgeon in choosing the appropriate procedure for the appropriate patient. The authors have chosen to use 2 types of repair for all hypospadias subsets based on the algorithm. They find the microscope an invaluable teaching aid, whilst at the same time providing an ergonomic benefit, and providing a wide range of surgical site magnification.

Edoardo Bassini is considered the father of modern surgery. His early results revealed a 2.7% recurrence rate. Earl Shouldice, his true successor, has improved the results to less than 1%. These results were produced by several well-known surgeons from 1970-2000 and well published. The need for mesh was meant for a small segment of the surgical patient population. What has happened? Generally, recurrence rates with mesh have not come down;instead, pain has become the bane of hernia repair as we begin the 21st century. A pain which makes the patient wish that he had a recurrence instead!
