Several models of multi-criteria decision-making(MCDM)have identified the optimal alternative electrical energy sources to supply certain load in an isolated region in Al-Minya City,Egypt.The load demand consists of water pumping system with a water desalination unit.Various options containing three different power sources:only DG,PV-B system,and hybrid PV-DG-B,two different sizes of reverse osmosis(RO)units;RO-250 and RO-500,two strategies of energy management;load following(LF)and cycle charging(CC),and two sizes of DG;5 and 10 kW were taken into account.Eight attributes,including operating cost,renewable fraction,initial cost,the cost of energy,excess energy,unmet load,breakeven grid extension distance,and the amount of CO_(2),were used during the evaluation process.To estimate these parameters,HOMER®software was employed to perform both the simulation and optimization process.Four different weight estimation methods were considered;no priority of criteria,based on a pairwise comparisons matrix of the criteria,CRITIC-method,and entropy-based method.The main findings(output results)confirmed that the optimal option for the case study was hybrid PV-DG-B with the following specification:5 kW DG,RO-500,and load following control strategy.Under this condition,the annual operating cost and initial costs were$5546 and$161022,respectively,whereas the cost of energy was 0.077$/kWh.The excess energy and unmet loads were 40998 and 2371 kWh,respectively.The breakeven grid extension distance and the amount of CO_(2) were 3.31 km and 5171 kg per year,respectively.Compared with DG only,the amount of CO_(2) has been sharply reduced by 113939 kg per year.

The concern of the environment and energy sustainability requests a crucial target of CO_(2)abatement and results in a relatively high penetration of renewable energy generation in the transmission system.For maintaining system reliability and security,the transmission company(TRANSCO)has to make strategic planning to handle the uncertainty challenges from the intermittent renewable energy resources.In this paper,a stochastic multi-period multi-objective transmission planning(MPMOTP)model is proposed to reduce correlated uncertainties from renewable energy generation,conventional generation,demand-side variations,market price volatility,and transmission configuration.Three objectives,i.***.social CO_(2)reduction benefit,energy purchase and network expansion cost and power delivery profit,are optimized simultaneously by a developed two-phase multi-objective particle swarm optimization(MOPSO)method.The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed uncertainty-averse MPMOTP model have been verified by the IEEE 24-bus test system.

Water and energy are closely linked natural resources - the transportation, treatment, and distribution of water depends on low-cost energy; while power generation requires large volumes of water. Seawater desalination is a mature technology for increasing freshwater supply, but it is essentially a trade of energy for freshwater and is not a viable solution for regions where both water and energy are in short supply. This paper discusses the development and application of a renewable-energy-driven reverse osmosis （RO） system for water desalination and the treatment and reuse of aquaculture wastewater. The system consists of （1） a wind-driven pumping subsystem, （2） a pressure-driven RO membrane desalination subsystem, and （3） a solar-driven feedback control module. The results of the pilot experiments indicated that the system, operated under wind speeds of 3 m s-~ or higher, can be used for brackish water desalination by reducing the salinity of feedwater with total dissolved solids （TDS） of over 3 000 mg L-1 to product water or permeate with a TDS of 200 mg L-~ or less. Results of the pilot experiments also indicated that the system can remove up to 97% of the nitrogenous wastes from the fish pond effluent and can recover and reuse up to 56% of the freshwater supply for fish pond operation.

Since the Industrial Revolution, greenhouse gas (GHG) emission, especially global CO2 emission (GCE) has greatly increased with the growth of global human population (GHP), which has caused climate change. Both GCE and GHP are positively related with the rise of global mean surface temperature (GMST). Our empirical research shows that the impact from GCE on GMST is 7.72 times of that from TSI, and the impact from GHP on GMST is 7.9 times of that from TSI. The growth rate of global surface temperature was slower from 1998 to 2012, which was mainly caused by the decadal cooling of the tropical Pacific Ocean-La Niña. Deforestation and vegetation degradation affect climate change, feedback radiation between the atmosphere and the biosphere account for 30% of the variation in global surface radiation and precipitation. The share of renewable energy remains small in primary energy consumption due to their disadvantages.

In medical diagnostics, therapeutic, laboratory, intensive care unit devices, and machines application, two form of Electrical energy is utilized. Alternatives current (AC) and Direct current (DC) form. In this paper an inverter driver system with a display model is made using MATLAB and its specific tool box of Simulink, the process will involve converting single phase alternating current power to direct current using rectifier made from ordinary normal diodes then converted to three phase using three-arm insulated gate bipolar transistors this is commonly known as inverter bridge which is sufficient enough to run three phase loads depending on the application requirement. The system uses a five-level inverter with low levels of distortions and ripples in the equipment output, this increase and improves the performance of the system. Using carefully selected passive and active elements such as capacitor resistors, inductors, diodes, and transistor system in inverter, decreases the number of switches and boosts the efficiency of the system. This inverter drive system helps us to run three phase machines in the health facility at the same frequency of single phase. The inverter system allows a smaller smoothing capacitor in the DC-AC link as proposed. Large smoothing capacitors are conventionally essential in such converters to absorb power ripple at twice the frequency of the power supply. The proposed network topology consists of an indirect matrix converter and an active snubber to absorb the power ripple, and does not necessitate a reactor or large smoothing capacitor. Simulation result is shown using MATLAB software and used to verify system operation principle as well as circuit development and their control mechanism for a single-to-three-phase power inverter system. The results from experiment show that for a 1 kW-class prototype circuit system, the power ripple at twice the frequency of the power supply can be adequately suppressed using a buffer capacitor of low values.

Since the Industrial Revolution, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have greatly increased with the increased use of fossil fuels, leading to air pollution and global warming. We present the researches on air pollution and the use of fossil fuels in north China, the economic zone of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan and the economic zone of the Pearl River Delta region. Researches indicate that the use of fossil fuels has been the main source of air pollution in the three regions. We present researches on global mean surface temperature (GMST) with the rise of carbon dioxide concentration (CDC) and global fossil fuel consumption (GFFC);researches indicate that the rise in CDC can account for 91% of the rise in GMST, and GFFC can account for 90% of the rise in GMST. We analyse the factors that bring about air pollution and temperature rise, they are the use of fossil fuels and deforestation. It is critically important to replace fossil fuels with clean energy, but renewable energy has also disadvantages. The world faces difficulties in solving air pollution and global warming, so governments of the world should cooperate to solve the technologies of clean energy, and preserve the forests and the natural environment.

The unfettered reliance on fossil fuels for centuries has pushed the world to the brink of severe environmental crises. While individual studies on renewable energy generation capacity have been conducted, a comprehensive analysis is lacking. This study aims to address this gap by providing a comparative analysis of three major renewable energy sources—hydro, solar, and wind— and their current global utilization statistics. Additionally, it will examine the efficacy of fossil fuels and their detrimental impact on the environment. Global warming and its associated health consequences on the ecosystem are rapidly escalating. Without a complete decarbonization of our energy systems, environmental deterioration is poised to continue at an alarming rate. Fortunately, a plethora of traditional and renewable energy resources exist that have minimal or no environmental impact and have been available for years. However, these resources remain largely untapped. The full potential of RE resources hinges on the development of sustainable technologies to harness their energy to their fullest capacity. This study delves into the current global and regional RE utilization from 2013 to 2022, based on data from the International renewable energy Agency (IRENA) 2023. The focus is limited to the three primary renewable energy sources with the highest harnessing capacity in recent times. Employing appropriate mathematical analyses, the results reveal exponential growth in renewable energy, with an average annual generating capacity of 2353550.7 MW over the past decade. Hydroelectric power, solar power, and wind, among others, have played a significant role in the global penetration of renewable energy systems. The changing dynamics have propelled these RE resources into the spotlight in recent years, owing to their sustainability and environmental friendliness.

Anaerobic digestion systems have been implemented on a number of rural farms all over the world as manure management solutions. Electricity and heating are also provided by means of such systems. In these systems, biomass waste is anaerobically digested to produce biogas, which is then burned in a boiler or an engine generator set to generate heat or power, depending on the system. The size and method of operation of a cattle waste-to-energy conversion system that would yield the highest revenue for a specific number of cattle are calculated in this study. An optimization method for Tabu Search is applied. The best answer is determined after several top-notch ones have been produced. The efficiency of a system for converting cattle waste into energy will help to increase rural electricity in Uganda.
