Understanding the financial innovation priorities for renewable energy investors via QFD-based picture fuzzy and rough numbers

This study evaluates financial innovation priorities for renewable energy investors by generating a novel hybrid fuzzy decision-making model.First,SERVQUAL-based customer needs for financial innovation are weighted with decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory based on picture fuzzy sets.Second,the financial innovation priorities are ranked by technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solutions based on picture fuzzy rough sets.In this process,Theory of the solution of inventive problems-based technical characteristics for financial services,the process for innovative services,and competencies for financial innovation are considered using quality function deployment phases.In addition,the Vise Kriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje method is also considered for an alternative ranking.Similarly,sensitivity analysis is also performed by considering five different cases.It is determined that the ranking priorities based on the proposed model are almost identical,demonstrating the proposed model’s validity and reliability.Assurance is the most crucial factor for the customer needs regarding the financial innovation priorities for renewable energy investors.Concerning the financial innovation priorities,the product is the essential priority for financial innovation;hence,it is recommended that companies engage qualified employees to effectively design the financial innovation for renewable energy investors.Additionally,necessary training should be given to the employees who currently work in the company,which can increase the renewable energy investors’trust in the innovative financial products.Companies should mainly focus on the product to provide better financial innovation to attract renewable energy investors.An effectively designed financial innovation product can help solve the financing problem of renewable energy investors.

1 Introduction The United States,Japan,Canada,the European Union,and other developed countries and regions have all formulated climate strategies and pledged to achieve net-zero CO_(2) emissions by 2050.China,meanwhile,has announced through the“carbon-peaking and carbon neutrality targets”in September 2020 that it aims to achieve“peak carbon use”by 2030 and“carbon neutrality”by 2060[1].According to statistical data from the International energy Agency(IEA),Fig.1 illustrates the carbon intensity of electricity generation in various regions in the Announced Pledge Scenario(APS)from 2010 to 2040[2].One can easily observe that each region aims to accomplish a sharp decrease in the carbon intensity of electricity generation after 2020.

Environmental degradation is a pressing global concern,with the energy sector being one of the major contributors to this issue.The environmental impact of energy imports,particularly regarding natural resources income and natural gas production profitability,cannot be ignored.Countries must assess the environmental consequences of their energy choices and take steps to minimize their impact.By transitioning to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources,countries can ensure a better future for the environment and their economies.This study examines the impact of energy imports and natural resources income on environmental degradation in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation(APEC)countries from 1990 to 2020,using revenue minus the production cost of natural gas and electricity production from renewable sources as moderating variables.Long-run estimates are derived using the Generalized Method of Moments and robust least squares.Our findings elucidate that importing energy from countries specializing in renewable energy can help reduce reliance on fossil fuels.This diversification of energy sources decreases the overall carbon footprint and contributes to a cleaner environment.Natural gas production often involves infrastructure construction,such as drilling rigs and pipelines,which can disrupt natural habitats and wildlife corridors.This destruction of ecosystems can have long-term consequences on biodiversity and ecological balance.The environmental impact of energy imports,particularly related to natural resource income and natural gas production profitability,requires BRICS countries to take proactive measures.These nations can address the environmental challenges associated with their energy demands by implementing policies prioritizing sustainable resource management,carbon pricing,stringent regulation,and investment in research and development.By doing so,they can balance economic growth and environmental sustainability,ensuring a greener future for the BRICS countries.

Traction power systems(TPSs)play a vital role in the operation of electrified railways.The transformation of conventional railway TPSs to novel structures is not only a trend to promote the development of electrified railways toward high-efficiency and resilience but also an inevitable requirement to achieve carbon neutrality target.On the basis of sorting out the power supply structures of conventional AC and DC modes,this paper first reviews the characteristics of the existing TPSs,such as weak power supply flexibility and low-energy efficiency.Furthermore,the power supply structures of various TPSs for future electrified railways are described in detail,which satisfy longer distance,low-carbon,high-efficiency,high-reliability and high-quality power supply requirements.Meanwhile,the application prospects of different traction modes are discussed from both technical and economic aspects.Eventually,this paper introduces the research progress of mixed-system electrified railways and traction power supply technologies without catenary system,speculates on the future development trends and challenges of TPSs and predicts that TPSs will be based on the continuous power supply mode,employing power electronic equipment and intelligent information technology to construct a railway comprehensive energy system with renewable energy.

Single-ended Time Domain Fault Location Based on Transient Signal Measurements of Transmission Lines

Precise fault location plays an important role in the reliability of modern power systems.With the in-creasing penetration of renewable energy sources,the power system experiences a decrease in system inertia and alterations in steady-state characteristics following a fault occurrence.Most existing single-ended phasor domain methods assume a certain impedance of the remote-end system or consistent current phases at both ends.These problems present challenges to the applicability of con-ventional phasor-domain location methods.This paper presents a novel single-ended time domain fault location method for single-phase-to-ground faults,one which fully considers the distributed parameters of the line model.The fitting of transient signals in the time domain is real-ized to extract the instantaneous amplitude and phase.Then,to eliminate the error caused by assumptions of lumped series resistance in the Bergeron model,an im-proved numerical derivation is presented for the distrib-uted parameter line model.The instantaneous symmet-rical components are extracted for decoupling and inverse transformation of three-phase recording data.Based on the above,the equation of instantaneous phase constraint is established to effectively identify the fault location.The proposed location method reduces the negative effects of fault resistance and the uncertainty of remote end pa-rameters when relying on one-terminal data for localiza-tion.Additionally,the proposed fault analysis methods have the ability to adapt to transient processes in power systems.Through comparisons with existing methods in three different systems,the fault position is correctly identified within an error of 1%.Also,the results are not affected by sampling rates,data windows,fault inception angles,and load conditions. The interdependency among water, food, and energy (WEF) in the GCC countries is strongly and closely interlinked, and is intensifying as demand for resources increases with population growth and changing consumption patterns, and are expected to be further compounded by the impacts of climate change. Therefore, integrated management of the three sectors is crucial to reduce trade-offs and build synergies among them. This paper presents a comprehensive framework to assess the WEF nexus in Kuwait as a representative case for the GCC countries. The framework consists of three main steps: 1) evaluating the influence of socio-economic development and climate change on water, energy, and food resources;2) generating scenario-based projections;and 3) conducting an extensive quantitative nexus analysis. The WEF interlinkages in Kuwait are modelled quantitatively using the Q-Nexus model, and current critical interdependencies are evaluated. Then, various WEF-Nexus scenarios were conducted for the year 2035 to explore the effects of management interventions in one sector on the other two sectors. The main findings are that per capita municipal water consumption is a major influencer on the WEF-nexus due to the heavy reliance on thermal desalination in municipal water supply in Kuwait, which is attributed to its energy intensity, financial cost, GHGs emissions, and environmental impacts on the marine and air environments. To reduce WEF trade-offs, mitigate risks, and build synergies among the three sectors, it is important to shift the current policy focus on supply-side management approach to the demand-side management and efficiency approaches.

Probabilistic energy and Reserve Co-dispatch for High-renewable Power Systems and Its Convex Reformulation

This paper proposes a probabilistic energy and reserve co-dispatch(PERD) model to address the strong uncertainties in high-renewable power systems. The expected costs of potential renewable energy curtailment/load shedding are fully considered in this model, which avoids insufficient or excessive emergency control capacity to produce more economical reserve decisions than conventional chance-constrained dispatch methods. Furthermore, an analytical reformulation approach of PERD is proposed to make it tractable. We firstly develop an approximation technique with high precision to convert the integral terms in objective functions into analytical ones. Then, the calculation of probabilistic constraints is equivalently transformed into an unconstrained optimization problem by introducing value-at-risk(Va R) representation. Specifically, the Va R formulas can be computed by a computationally-cheap dichotomy search algorithm. Finally, the PERD model is transformed into a convex problem, which can be solved reliably and efficiently using off-the-shelf solvers. Case studies are performed on IEEE test systems and real provincial power grids in China to illustrate the scalability and efficiency of the proposed method.

Recently,renewable energy(RE)has become popular due to its benefits,such as being inexpensive,low-carbon,ecologically friendly,steady,and reliable.The RE sources are gradually combined with non-renewable energy(NRE)sources into electric grids to satisfy energy demands.Since energy utilization is highly related to national energy policy,energy prediction using artificial intelligence(AI)and deep learning(DL)based models can be employed for energy prediction on RE and NRE power resources.Predicting energy consumption of RE and NRE sources using effective models becomes necessary.With this motivation,this study presents a new multimodal fusionbased predictive tool for energy consumption prediction(MDLFM-ECP)of RE and NRE power sources.Actual data may influence the prediction performance of the results in prediction approaches.The proposed MDLFMECP technique involves pre-processing,fusion-based prediction,and hyperparameter optimization.In addition,the MDLFM-ECP technique involves the fusion of four deep learning(DL)models,namely long short-termmemory(LSTM),bidirectional LSTM(Bi-LSTM),deep belief network(DBN),and gated recurrent unit(GRU).Moreover,the chaotic cat swarm optimization(CCSO)algorithm is applied to tune the hyperparameters of the DL models.The design of the CCSO algorithm for optimal hyperparameter tuning of the DL models,showing the novelty of the work.A series of simulations took place to validate the superior performance of the proposed method,and the simulation outcome emphasized the improved results of the MDLFM-ECP technique over the recent approaches with minimum overall mean absolute percentage error of 3.58%.

Offshore wind energy,as a form of renewable power,has seen rapid development in recent years.While fixedbottom wind turbines are typically used in water depths less than 50 m,the utilization of floating offshore wind turbines(FOWTs)becomes essential for deeper waters.Secure and effective mooring systems play a crucial role in making FOWTs commercially viable.The concept of a shared mooring system offers an innovative solution for deploying floating wind farms in clusters or arrays,which can reduce overall construction costs for large-scale floating wind farms.It is imperative to optimize the shared mooring arrangement for maximum cost-effectiveness and wind farm stability.However,implementing a shared mooring system introduces complexity to the dynamics of FOWTs,requiring the development of advanced simulation tools to meet modelling requirements.Under the shared mooring arrangement,mooring lines and anchors face more significant challenges,such as chain-seabed interactions,soil cyclic weakening,and anchor out-of-plane loading,which underscore the need for innovative,reliable,and efficient shared anchor designs.This article offers an overview of the current research status on shared mooring systems for floating wind farms,which might serve as a valuable reference for the construction of large-scale floating wind farms worldwide.
