Simplified removable Ground Test-Bed for Testing Turbofan Engine

A new simplified removable ground test-bed was designed for testing a certainturbofan engine. The facilities are 5.5 m long, 1.5 m wide, 2.2 m high and not more than 4. 5 t ofits empty weight. There are four rubber wheels that could be towed. There is an independentelectrical measurement and control system to test the rotational speed of rotors, the gas pressureof the compressor, the exhaust gas temperature, etc. Cooperated with the oil truck and the electricpower supply truck, the turbofan engine could be preserved on the ground and started to the idlingregime. While running, the parameter of the engine could be recorded, disposed and displayed. Inaddition, the facilities were successfully applied to the plateau experiment in order to researchhow the atmosphere pressure affects the start of engines. Some data are given in the paper.

removable partial dentures (RPDs) (conventional and implant-supported) treatment is considered a viable option to replace missing teeth as inexpensively as possible, but it has limitations. Objectives: This study reports the effect of gender and location (maxilla vs. mandible) on the clinical performance of removable partial dentures (RPDs). Materials and Methods: A total of 100 Patients who had RPDs delivered between 1990-1995 were evaluated. A 4-point scoring system was used to assess seventeen criteria. These criteria include acceptance, stability, support, retention, adaptation, occlusion, integrity, and design of the pros-theses, rest and rest seat preparation, occlusal wear, esthetics, phonetics, tissue condition, mobility of abutments, gingival and plaque indices. The data were analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U non-parametric statistical tests. Results: The results showed that acceptance of RPDs was rated the lowest. Other reasons for failure were poor retention, lack of integrity of the prostheses and inadequate adaptation. Retention and design of major connectors attributed to Mandibular RPD failure. Success rate of 75% was observed in male compared with 67.2% for female. Maxillary RPDs showed a higher success rate (78%) compared with the mandibular (70.1%). No significant statistical difference in Alpha scores between female and male patients and between maxillary and mandibular RPDs (p < 0.05). Conclusions: The clinical performance of RPDs showed a higher success rate in male patients compared to female patients and the maxillary RPDs showed a higher success rate compared to mandibular.

The pig-on-litter system is characterized by reduced environmental pollution and high-quality pork. It has won the support of the government and the acceptance of market. It is urgent to develop the supporting facilities and products to promote the comprehensive promotion of this technology. Based on the climatic and hydro- logical conditions in Jiangsu Province, we designed the removable deep-litter breed- ing shed. Its construction costs were lower than that of ordinary water-flushed pig- gery. In addition, this breeding system would not consolidate the land. The indoor ventilation and heat-conservation performances also met the requirements by pig-on- litter system. The removable shed can be promoted as an important supporting technology for the deep-litter breeding model in the eastern China.

Nowadays, it is a new technology era. Fingerprint is necessary identification recognition of citizens. Fingerprint technology has become more popular and connected to human being life and come to replace traditional identification and verifying recognition today. The fingerprint will continue to substitute the ID of citizens as soon as possible in the future. Fingerprint refers to a complex of combination between gap of ridges and valleys on all of the fingertips. Clearer ridges quality is more convenient to analyze who you are and system can recognize your unique identity. Poorer ridges quality image is a significant problem that system has to improve and enhance the images quality before analyzing the results. Dry and wet ridges are the main issues that developers and researchers need to work on as it provides poor quality image. Medium ridge image is a good condition for analysis, but it also needs to be improved. Therefore, fingerprint images have to control the clearer quality and computing minutiae result and then comparing to templates, which stored in the database. The result will display if it is matched but it will not appear when that person has not yet registered. The paper proposed three algorithms to enhance image, extract minutiae and match with fingerprint templates. The first step, is used to enhance the image quality using brightness and Gabor filters on the fingerprint surface to make ridgelines darker. The second step is to extract minutia. It used to convert the images to binary (0 and 1) and process thinning image with Zhang Suen algorithms. Then, the pictures go through the fixing procedure to correct any missed links, error ridges or spurious minutiae that generated by fingerprint algorithms before they undergo final analysis, calculate location of minutiae and the total of the minutiae on the fingerprint surface. The last step is matching algorithms that can be proof of a person identity by comparing minutiae result with those in the databas

Management of a 51-year-old female of Afro Trinidadian descent required removal mandibular incisors. This patient’s periodontal condition and her inability to afford pre-prosthetic surgery, bone grafting or even a fixed partial denture for replacement of the proposed units after extraction necessitated alternative treatment options to implants. Her profession required interaction with the public and as such an immediate replacement was essential. Impressions were taken and an immediate partial denture fabricated using a visible light cure acrylic. The mobile teeth were extracted and the denture delivered to the patient with minimal adjustments. The patient was monitored for three months while healing of the extraction site occurred and her periodontal condition was treated. Inability to afford definitive treatment for one year required the denture be maintained for that period. Follow up showed that the aesthetics, function and structural integrity of the denture had not been compromised.
