In this paper,the resource allocation optimization for the simultaneous wireless information and power transfer(SWIPT)full-duplex(FD)relaying networks is investigated,in which the power-constrained relay scavenges energy from the source signal and assists information transmission by FD operation.Taking into account non-linear energy harvesting(EH)hardware circuit characteristics of the relay,the information rate maximization problem is developed by jointly optimizing the time-switching(TS)factor and transmission powers of the source in two different phases.However,the formulated optimization is highly non-convex and difficult to solve.To cope with this problem,the primary problem is decomposed into two sub-problems with respect to the TS factor and transmission powers.After solving these two sub-problems,the final sub-optimal solutions can be obtained by alternating search.Simulation results prove that the optimization of both TS factor and transmission powers can effectively enhance the information rate for the considered networks.

Energy harvesting provides a promising solution to the extra energy requirement at the relay due to relaying. In this paper, the throughput and bit error rate of a decode-and-forward relaying system are studied using power splitting wireless power. Three different transmission scenarios are considered: instantaneous transmission, delay-or error-constrained transmission and delay-or error-tolerant transmission. For each scenario,exact expressions for the throughput and bit error rate are derived. Numerical results show that, for instantaneous transmission, the optimum splitting factor is not sensitive to the channel gain of the source-to-relay link.For delay-or error-constrained transmissions, the optimum splitting factor increases with the quality of the source-to-relay link and decreases with the quality of the relay-to-destination link. For delay-or error-tolerant transmissions, the optimum splitting factor is insensitive to the quality of the source-to-relay link.

A novel scheme‘user assisted cooperative relaying in beamspace massive multiple input multiple output(M-MIMO)non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA)system’has been proposed to improve coverage area,spectrum and energy efficiency for millimeter wave(mmWave)communications.A downlink system for M users,where base station(BS)is equipped with beamforming lens antenna structure having NRF radio frequency(RF)chains,has been considered.A dynamic cluster of users is formed within a beam and the intermediate users(in that cluster)between beam source and destination(user)act as relaying stations.By the use of successive interference cancellation(SIC)technique of NOMA within a cluster,the relaying stations relay the symbols with improved power to the destination.For maximizing achievable sum rate,transmit precoding and dynamic power allocation for both intra and inter beam power optimization are implemented.Simulations for performance evaluation are carried out to validate that the proposed system outperforms the conventional beamspace M-MIMO NOMA system for mmWave communications in terms of spectrum and energy efficiency.

Serving multiple cell-edge mobile terminals poses multifaceted challenges due to the increased transmission power and interferences, which could be overcome by relay communications. With the recent advancement of 5G technologies, non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA) has been used at relay node to transmit multiple messages simultaneously to multiple cell-edge users. In this paper, a Collaborative NOMA Assisted relaying(CNAR) system for 5G is proposed by enabling the collaboration of source-relay(S-R) and relay-destination(R-D) NOMA links. The relay node of the CNAR decodes the message for itself from S-R NOMA signal and transmits the remaining messages to the multiple cell-edge users in R-D link. A simplified-CNAR(S-CNAR) system is then developed to reduce the relay complexity. The outage probabilities for both systems are analyzed by considering outage behaviors in S-R and R-D links separately. To guarantee the data rate, the optimal power allocation among NOMA users is achieved by minimizing the outage probability. The ergodic sum capacity in high SNR regime is also approximated. Our mathematical analysis and simulation results show that CNAR system outperforms existing transmission strategies and S-CNAR reaches similar performance with much lower complexity.

In this paper, the system performance of a decode-and-forward(DF) full-duplex(FD) adaptive relaying network over the Rician fading environment is proposed, analyzed and demonstrated. In the first stage, the system is presented with the energy harvesting and information transmission processes. After that, the analytical expressions of the achievable throughput, the outage probability, and symbol error ratio(SER) were proposed, analyzed and demonstrated. Finally, the analytical results are also demonstrated by Monte-Carlo simulation in comparison with the closed-form expressions in the influence of the key system parameters. The results show that the analytical and simulated results match for all possible parameter values.

We study a downlink cooperative non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA) system in which a base station(BS) serves two paired users on the same frequency band simultaneously, and the near user acts as an energy-constrained relay for the far user since there is no direct link between the BS and the far user due to physical obstacles or heavy shadowing. To replenish energy of the near user for relaying, we enable the near user to harvest energy from BS signals by adopting the simultaneous wireless information and power transfer(SWIPT) technique. Diferent from the linear energy harvesting(EH) model used in most of the existing literature, we adopt a non-linear model for EH. By considering the non-linear features of the practical circuits, we aim to minimize the BS energy consumption while ensuring the minimum required transmission rate of both users. Since the formulated problem contains coupled power and time resource variables, it is challenging to solve it directly. Thus, we propose an optimal power-time resource allocation algorithm by decoupling the variables properly. Simulation results verify the theoretical analysis and show the performance of the considered system.

We study a downlink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system, in which a base station (BS) serves a near user and a far user on the same frequency band simultaneously. Due to physical obstacles or heavy shadowing, there is no direct link from the BS to the far user and the near user acts as a cooperative relay for the far user by adopting the simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) technique. In particular, we first derive the outage probabilities of the SWIPT-assisted cooperative NOMA system by considering both full-duplex and half-duplex relaying modes. Then, we analyze the approximated closed-form expression of exact outage probability by applying the Gaussian-Chebyshev quadrature formulas. Simulation results validate the correctness of the theoretical analysis and demonstrate the advantages of the SWIPT-assisted cooperative NOMA system over orthogonal multiple access(OMA)benchmarks.

In wireless sensor networks, the traditional multi-relay incremental cooperative relaying (MIR) scheme could improve the system throughput over the fading channel enormously by exploiting multiple relay nodes to retransmit the copy of the source packet to the destination in turn, but increase the energy consumption and transmission delay. In order to mitigating the energy consumption and transmission delay, this paper proposes a new cooperative relaying scheme termed as incremental-selective relaying with best-relay selection (ISR), which selects the best relay node from the candidate relays to retransmit the packet to the destination only when the direct transmission between the source and the destination is not successful. Expressions of normalized throughput, normalized delay and energy efficiency for the ISR and MIR systems are derived respectively and their performances are compared through simulations. The results show that normalized throughput, normalized delay and energy efficiency for the ISR system all outperform the corresponding performances of the MIR system. Especially, there are different the optimal number of relays which can maximize the energy efficiency of system.

This paper systematically analyzes the transfer characteristics of the Rogowski-coil Current Transformer and its effect on protective relaying through theoretical analysis, experiments and simulations. The frequency characteristics and transient characteristics of Rogowski transducer and Rogowski-coil Current Transformer are deeply analyzed based on the physical structure of the transformer.?It is revealed that broad bandwidth of the transformer can improve the performance of protective relaying, and the bandwidth is determined mainly by the parameters of the Rogowski transducer and signal processing circuits. It is also discovered that the measurement errors of transient current mainly depend on the abilities for the current transformer to reproduce an accurate replica of the decaying dc components, which is mainly decided by the decay time constant of the aperiodic component of transient current and the parameters of the integral unit. Finally, some measures are proposed for the performance improvement of Rogowski-coil Current Transformer to meet the requirements of protective relaying system in terms of structural design and testing standards.
