Summary What is already known about this topic?Migration has a significant impact on the transmission of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV).To date,there have been few studies examining the characteristics of migration among HIV-positive men who have sex with men(MSM).What is added by this report?The prevalence of migrants among newly reported HIV-positive MSM in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region increased from 2005 to 2021.Yulin Prefecture had the highest proportion of out-migrant MSM(12.6%),while Nanning Prefecture had the highest proportion of in-migrant MSM(55.9%).Risk factors associated with migration among MSM included being in the 18–24 age range,having a college education or higher,and being a student.

Load balancing is a technique for identifying overloaded and underloaded nodes and balancing the load between them.To maximize various performance parameters in cloud computing,researchers suggested various load balancing approaches.To store and access data and services provided by the different service providers through the network over different regions,cloud computing is one of the latest technology systems for both end-users and service providers.The volume of data is increasing due to the pandemic and a significant increase in usage of the internet has also been experienced.Users of the cloud are looking for services that are intelligent,and,can balance the traffic load by service providers,resulting in seamless and uninterrupted services.Different types of algorithms and techniques are available that can manage the load balancing in the cloud services.In this paper,a newly proposed method for load balancing in cloud computing at the database level is introduced.The database cloud services are frequently employed by companies of all sizes,for application development and business process.Load balancing for distributed applications can be used to maintain an efficient task scheduling process that also meets the user requirements and improves resource utilization.Load balancing is the process of distributing the load on various nodes to ensure that no single node is overloaded.To avoid the nodes from being overloaded,the load balancer divides an equal amount of computing time to all nodes.The results of two different scenarios showed the cross-region traffic management and significant growth in revenue of restaurants by using load balancer decisions on application traffic gateways.

From 1950 to 2019,a total of 267 plague cases in humans were reported in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous region with 133 deaths and 10,710 Yersinia pestis isolates;21 of these cases were reported from the Meriones unguiculatus(M.unguiculatus)plague focus with 6 deaths and 6,771 isolates.According to the plague situation in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous region and the implementation of local preventive measures,the prevalence of plague in humans in the M.unguiculatus plague focus of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous region could be divided into four stages.The first stage was the initial stage of plague prevention and control(1950–1959),with 0.80 cases annually and a case fatality rate of 37.50%.The second stage was the plague eradication stage(1960–1979),with 0.15 cases annually and a case fatality rate of 33.33%.The third stage was the plague surveillance stage(1980-1999),with 0.25 cases annually and a case fatality rate of 20.00%.The fourth stage is the comprehensive prevention and control stage under the emergency system(2000-2019),with 0.25 cases annually and a case fatality rate of 20.00%.The surveillance of rodent density(1981-2019)and studies on plague-related factors among M.unguiculatus have shown that the higher the M.unguiculatus density,the higher the nocturnal rodent capture rate(r=0.670,p<0.05)and the higher the indirect hemagglutination assay(IHA)positive rate of M.unguiculatus(r=0.344,p<0.05);the higher the percentage of hosts infected,the lower the M.unguiculatus density(r=-0.361,p<0.05)and the lower the IHA positive rate of M.unguiculatus(r=-0.337,p<0.05);the higher the percentage of nests infected with fleas,the lower the IHA positive rate of M.unguiculatus(r=-0.348,p<0.05).Together,these results suggest that it is necessary to simultaneously monitor the pathogens,serology,and vector index of M.unguiculatus to accurately reflect the plague prevalence among local animals.Although bubonic plague is the main plague type of the M.unguiculatus plague focus,severe pneumonic plague or septic plague may be s

B lymphoma Moloney murine leukemia virus insertion region 1 (BMI1), a core member of polycomb repressive complex 1 (PRC1), has been intensely investigated in the field of cancer epigenetics for decades. Widely known as a critical regulator in cellular physiology, BMI1 is essential in self-renewal and differentiation in different lineages of stem cells. BMI1 also plays a significant role in cancer etiology for its involvement in pathological progress such as epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and cancer stem cell maintenance, propagation, and differentiation. Importantly, overexpression of BMI1 is predictive for drug resistance, tumor recurrence, and eventual therapy failure of various cancer subtypes, which renders the pharmacological targeting at BMI1 as a novel and promising therapeutic approach. The study on prostate cancer, a prevalent hormone-related cancer among men, has promoted enormous research advancements in cancer genetics and epigenetics. This review summarizes the role of BMI1 as an oncogenic and epigenetic regulator in tumor initiation, progression, and relapse of prostate cancer.

Sex-determining region Y box-containing genes are transcription factors with roles in multiple biological processes, including cell differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis.Sex-determining region Y box-containing genes have also been shown to act as regulators and biomarkers in the progression of many different cancers, including gynecological cancers such as ovarian, cervical,and endometrial cancer.In this review, we summarize the contrasting regulatory roles of Sex-determining region Y box-containing genes in different gynecological cancers, as promotors with high expression levels or as suppressors with low expression levels.Expression levels of Sex-determining region Y box-containing genes were also identified as biomarkers of clinical features, including International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stage, histopathologic grade together with disease-free survival, and treatment efficacy in patients with gynecological cancers.An understanding of the mechanisms whereby Sex-determining region Y box-containing genes regulate the progression of gynecological cancers will aid in the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies, while analysis of Sex-determining region Y box-containing expression levels will help to predict the prognosis of patients with gynecological cancers.

Ilexonin A is a compound isolated from the root of Ilex pubescens,a traditional Chinese medicine.Ilexonin A has been shown to play a neuroprotective role by regulating the activation of astrocytes and microglia in the peri-infarct area after ischemia.However,the effects of ilexonin A on astrocytes and microglia in the infarct-free region of the hippocampal CA1 region remain unclear.Focal cerebral ischemia models were established by 2-hour occlusion of the middle cerebral artery in rats.Ilexonin A(20,40 or 80 mg/kg)was administered immediately after ischemia/reperfusion.The astrocyte marker glial fibrillary acidic protein,microglia marker Iba-1,neural stem cell marker nestin and inflammation markers were detected by immunohistochemistry and western blot assay.Expression levels of tumor necrosis factor-αand interleukin 1βwere determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay in the hippocampal CA1 tissue.Astrocytes were activated immediately in progressively increasing numbers from 1,3,to 7 days post-ischemia/reperfusion.The number of activated astrocytes further increased in the hippocampal CA1 region after treatment with ilexonin A.Microglial cells remained quiescent after ischemia/reperfusion,but became activated after treatment with ilexonin A.Ilexonin A enhanced nestin expression and reduced the expression of tumor necrosis factor-αand interleukin 1βin the hippocampus post-ischemia/reperfusion.The results of the present study suggest that ilexonin A has a neuroprotective effect in the hippocampus after ischemia/reperfusion,probably through regulating astrocytes and microglia activation,promoting neuronal stem cell proliferation and reducing the levels of pro-inflammatory factors.This study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of the Fujian Medical University Union Hospital,China.

Conserved termini and adjacent variable region of Twortlikevirus Staphylococcus phages

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) is an increasing cause of serious infection,both in the community and hospital settings. Despite sophisticated strategies and efforts, the antibiotic options for treating MRSA infection are narrowing because of the limited number of newly developed antimicrobials. Here, four newly-isolated MRSA-virulent phages, IME-SA1, IMESA2, IME-SA118 and IME-SA119, were sequenced and analyzed. Their genome termini were identified using our previously proposed "termini analysis theory". We provide evidence that remarkable conserved terminus sequences are found in IME-SA1/2/118/119, and, moreover, are widespread throughout Twortlikevirus Staphylococcus phage G1 and K species. Results also suggested that each phage of the two species has conserved 5′ terminus while the 3′ terminus is variable. More importantly, a variable region with a specific pattern was found to be present near the conserved terminus of Twortlikevirus S. phage G1 species. The clone with the longest variable region had variable terminus lengths in successive generations, while the clones with the shortest variable region and with the average length variable region maintained the same terminal length as themselves during successive generations. IME-SA1 bacterial infection experiments showed that the variation is not derived from adaptation of the phage to different host strains. This is the first study of the conserved terminus and variable region of Twortlikevirus S. phages.
