Valency Study of Vanadium in Stone Coal Ash of Jiangxi Province

Vanadium-bearing stone coal is a new vanadium resource; recovery of V2O5 from the coal has been investigated. It has been found that a satisfactory extraction of V2O5 depends on both the oxidation of V and its reaction with sodium salt. V in the coal ash of Yushan mainly exists in two oxidation states; 98% V (Ⅲ) and 2% V(Ⅳ). The distribution of valency of V shows that organic matter determines V valency at low temperatures, at about 470℃ , V(Ⅲ) is completely oxidized to V (Ⅳ); above 500 ℃, the temperature is the most important factor for the oxidation of V At higher temperatures no more V is oxidized to V(Ⅴ); an equilibrium is established after 92% of V is oxidized to V(Ⅴ). The roles of NaCl in the recovery of V2O5 from the coal ash were discussed. The best conditions for roasting are temperature 750-800℃ for 1 h. under the oxidation-chlorination atmosphere. When the ore : NaCl = 100 :10 by weight, ηroast reaches 85.5%. According to the results, a flowsheet for V2O5 extraction from coal ash has been proposed.

Starting from the concept of greenway and greenway at mountainous area,the paper had discussed functions of greenway at mountainous area.It was considered that greenway could ameliorate natural environment and create safe and stable road environment;reconstruct ecological system and recover ecological community;enrich landscape level and form symbolic landscape appearance.By taking Road 1# of pumped storage power station in Xiangshuijian of Anhui Province for example,it had analyzed the general situation of the project and embodiment of mountainous greenway in this project design;illustrated that it had integrated the need of road function,display of greenway function and design concept of humanity connotation;further discussed design methods for each mode section including vertical side slope mode section with serious weathering,abrupt slope mode section with serious weathering and laddered abrupt slope mode section in detail.It had analyzed landscape design of note turning section and observation deck respectively,preferentially discussed the core designing concept that landscape connotation should be instilled into greenway construction at mountainous area based on the security and ecological recovery principle,so as to provide some significant references for current road greening construction.

recovery of gold and silver from a sulphide concentrate by thiourea leaching was investigat-ed.The effects of various parameters on the process,such as oxidants,the initial concentrationof thiourea and acidity in solutions as well as reaction temperature,were systematically exam-ined.From the results it was confirmed that(a)oxidants had no significant influence on the dis-solution of gold and silver at a fixed initial concentration of thiourea;(b)the initial concentra-tion of thiourea and acidity affected the dissolution rate only in the earliest period of leaching;(c)the rate of the process was controlled by reagent diffusion.The optimum operations wereworked out for the thiourea leaching process of the concentrate.

One of the most controversial issues in recent years in water management has been finding a balance between available resources and water needs related to certain territories. The changes brought about by a new awareness over the need to preserve the environment, the social perception of the ownership of the river channels, the need for adjust financial costs arising from the waterworks and the compliance with European standards urgently require redesign of water supply policies in force at this time. The Júcar-Vinalopó water transfer, considered as an historic aspiration for many years in the region, has been regarded as a key element for solving the depletion of groundwater in a large area located in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula, mainly for irrigation purposes. In this paper we present an approach to the economic aspects related to the implementation of the project, its investment and financing arrangements and the question of the subsequent management with the impact of the well-known “recovery cost principle', highlighting the current difficulties in carrying out projects of this size, due to severe limitations, as social and economic conditions of the transfer.

Based on mining design theory and practice, a production system of stagger-arrangement roadway in thick seams is put forward for the first time. The system can comprehensively solve the problems in longwall top-coal caving system, such as raising recovery ratio, discharging gas, preventing spontaneous combustion and improving the upkeep of roadway etc.
