A new adaptive(automatic)time stepping algorithm,called RCA(rate of convergence Algorithm)is *** new algorithm was applied in nonlinear finite element analysis of path-dependent *** step size is adjusted by monitoring the estimated convergence rate of the nonlinear iterative *** RCA algorithm is relatively simple to implement,robust and its performance is comparable to,and in some cases better than,the automatic load incrementaion algorithm existent in commercial *** about the convergence rate of nonlinear iterative processes,an estimation of the rate and a study of the parameters of the RCA algorithm are *** show the capacity of the algorithm to adjust the increment size,detailed discussions based on results for different limit load analyses are *** results obtained by RCA algorithm are compared with those by ABAQUS?,one of the most powerful nonlinear FEA(Finite Element Analysis)commercial software,in order to verify the capability of RCA algorithm to adjust the increment size along nonlinear analyses.

We study the single projection algorithm of Tseng for solving a variational inequality problem in a 2-uniformly convex Banach *** underline cost function of the variational inequality is assumed to be monotone and Lipschitz continuous.A weak convergence result is obtained under reasonable assumptions on the variable *** also give the strong convergence result for when the underline cost function is strongly monotone and Lipchitz *** this strong convergence case,the proposed method does not require prior knowledge of the modulus of strong monotonicity and the Lipschitz constant of the cost function as input parameters,rather,the variable step-sizes are diminishing and *** asymptotic estimate of the convergence rate for the strong convergence case is also *** completeness,we give another strong convergence result using the idea of Halpern iteration when the cost function is monotone and Lipschitz continuous and the variable step-sizes are bounded by the inverse of the Lipschitz constant of the cost ***,we give an example of a contact problem where our proposed method can be applied.

Some exponential inequalities for partial sums of associated random variables are established. These inequalities improve the corresponding results obtained by Ioannides and Roussas (1999), and Oliveira (2005). As application, some strong laws of large numbers are given. For the case of geometrically decreasing covariances, we obtain the rate of convergence n-1/2(log log n)1/2(logn) which is close to the optimal achievable convergence rate for independent random variables under an iterated logarithm, while Ioannides and Roussas (1999), and Oliveira (2005) only got n-1/3(logn)2/3 and n-1/3(logn)5/3, separately.

This paper revisits the synchronisation problem for second-order multi-agent systems(MASs)under dynamically changing communication *** employing the reference model-based synchronisation algorithm,it is finally shown that synchronisation for both the position and velocity states can be achieved if the union of the communication topologies has a directed spanning tree frequently *** extends the existing results obtained for second-order MASs which exploits mild communication topology condition guaranteeing the synchronisation to a more general *** analysis is successfully performed by exploiting the product properties of row-stochastic matrices,which can also provide us with an estimate the convergence rate towards the synchronisation.

In this paper we discuss the least-square estimator of the unknown change point in a mean shift for moving-average processes of ALNQD sequence. The consistency and the rate of convergence for the estimated change point are established. The asymptotic distribution for the change point estimator is obtained. The results are also true for ρ-mixing, φ-mixing, α-mixing sequences under suitable conditions. These results extend those of Bai, who studied the mean shift point of a linear process of i.i.d, variables, and the condition ∑j=0^∞j｜aj｜〈 ∞ in Bai is weakened to ∑j=0^∞｜aj｜〈∞.

It is demonstrated that spectral methods can be used to improve the accuracy of numerical solutions obtained by some lower order *** precisely,we can use spectral methods to postprocess numerical solutions of initial value differential *** a few number of iterations(say 3 to 4),the errors can decrease to a few orders of magnitude *** iteration uses the Gauss-Seidel type strategy,which gives an explicit way of *** examples for ODEs,Hamiltonian system and integral equations are *** all indicate that the spectral processing technique can be a very useful way in improving the accuracy of the numerical *** particular,for a Hamiltonian system accuracy is only one of the issues;some other conservative properties are even more important for large time *** spectral postprocessing with the coarse-mesh symplectic initial guess can not only produce high accurate approximations but can also save a significant amount of computational time over the standard symplectic schemes.
