＜正＞The mammalian brain is formed through a series of intricately orchestrated events whereby neurons born in germinal zones migrate for long distances to reach their final positions and form specific connections. The postmitotic neurons use the radial glial fibers as scaffold to migrate to their final destination during the brain *** has been established that the Reelin signaling pathway is crucial for neuronal migration and positioning during ***,the mechanism of Reelin action on migrating neurons has remained *** plasmid containing green fluorescence protein（GFP） sequence was injected into the lateral ventricles and transfected into the cells in ventricular zone of cerebral cortex in mouse embryos（E14.5-E17.5） by using in utero *** transfected brains were fixed with 4%PFA two or five days after the electroporation and used for immunocytochemisty against Reelin and different markers for radial glail *** results showed that the transfected cells expressed strong *** GFP-positive cells showed the typical morphology of radial glial cells possessing a long and thin process that spans the whole developing cerebral cortex and gave rise to intensive branching in marginal zone where Reelin is *** GFP-labeled cells located between ventricular zone and marginal zone showed the typical morphology of migrating neurons having a long and thick unbranched leading process and a short and thin trailing *** soon as the tip of leading process of migrating neurons reach Reelin-abundant marginal zone, they generate intensive branches and anchor to the marginal zone of the cortex,which facilitates somal translocation to finish the migration *** the present study,we first used in vivo research method-in utero electroporation to elaborate that Reelin induces branching of the leading process of migrating neurons,as well as the apical process of radial glial cells.

In the developing CNS,radial glia cells(RGCs),which function as neural precursor cells to form new neurons in the cortex and migrational guides for radial later-born neurons,are critical for morphogenesis of the cerebral ***,it have been demonstrated that the long fiber of RGCs play important roles in initiating the myehnation,and RGCs may be contribute to the production of the ohgodendrocyte progenitor cells(OPCs) from dorsal *** this study,we used LXRβ null mice(LXRβ) to determine whether endogenous LXRβ regulate VZ-SVZ ohgodendrogenesis in the neonatal/postnatal *** found that LXRβ,are present within the VZ-SVZ at perinataly,at the onset of postnatal ohgodendrogenesis which will continue to be expressed until to adult,at the onset of postnatal *** of LXRβ had fewer OPCs,both in the germinal VZ-SVZ and in an adjacent developing white matter tract,the corpus *** maturation was subsequently defective in LXRβ mice relative to that of wild-type littermates,such that by 2 weeks of age,fewer mature oligodendrocytes were found in the corpus *** comparison of double-labeled cells using BLBP as a marker for RGCs,and combined with PDGFRα or01ig2 were detected in the corpus callosum and cerebral cortex of WT and LXRβ KO mice at P2 and P7 have demonstrated that LXRβ is involved in the regulation of RGCs differentiation into *** results suggest:activation of endogenous LXRβ maybe involved in the CNS *** supposed to be one of key nuclear transcription factors to determine the differentiation of RGCs in the periventricular zone and corpus callosum toward OPCs at early time after birth,and contribute to OLs maturation and myehnation.

GFAP expression in the optic nerve and increased Н2S generation in the integration centers of the rainbow trout（Oncorhynchus mykiss） brain after unilateral eye injury

Hydrogen sulfide(H2S)is considered as a protective factor against cardiovascular ***,there are few reports on the effects of H2S in the central nervous system during stress or *** studies on goldfish have shown that astrocytic response occurs in the damaged and contralateral optic *** fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP)concentration in the optic nerves of rainbow trout has not been measured *** study further characterized the astrocytic response in the optic nerve and the brain of a rainbow trout(Oncorhynchus mykiss)after unilateral eye injury and estimated the amount of H2S-producing enzyme cystathionineβ-synthase(CBS)in the brain of the rainbow *** 1 week after unilateral eye injury,a protein band corresponding to a molecular weight of 50 kDa was identified in the ipsi-and contralateral optic nerves of the rainbow *** concentration of GFAP in the injured optic nerve increased compared to the protein concentration on the contralateral *** results of a quantitative analysis of GFAP+cell distribution in the contralateral optic nerve showed the largest number of GFAP+cells and fibers in the optic nerve *** the damaged optic nerve,patterns of GFAP+cell migration and large GFAP+bipolar activated astrocytes were detected at 1 week after unilateral eye *** study of H2S-producing system after unilateral eye injury in the rainbow trout was conducted using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,western blot analysis,and immunohistochemistry of polyclonal antibodies again st CBS in the integrative centers of the brain:telencephalon,optic tectum,and ***-linked immunosorbent assay results showed a 1.7-fold increase in CBS expression in the rainbow trout brain at 1 week after unilateral eye injury compared with that in intact *** the ventricular and subventricular regions of the rainbow trout telencephalon,CBS+radial glia and neuroepithelial cells were *** unilateral eye injury

Cortical development and asymmetric cell divisions

The development of the mammalian neocortex involves rounds of symmetric and asymmetric cell division of neural progenitors to fulfill needs of both self-renewal of progenitors and production of differentiated progenies such as neurons and glia. The machinery for asymmetric cell division is evolutionarily conserved and extensively used in organogeuesis and homeostasis of adult tissues. Here we summarize recent progress regarding cellular characteristics of different types of neural progenitors in mammals, highlighting how asymmetric cell division is utilized during cortical development.
