＜正＞This paper deals with polarization characteristics analysis and comparison for different terrain types.A method for the optimization of the completely polarized component involved in a partially polarized wave is used to extract three basic polarization characteristics parameters,the maximum received power,the optimal polarization states for transmission and reception,and the optimal degree of *** also use an unsupervised classification method to qualitatively analyze the scattering mechanisms of each typical scattering *** compare these quantities between different ground-cover types by using L-band polarimeric SAR data,and specify the polarization characteristics for each typical terrain type discussed.

The concept of matched illumination is discussed for radar systems employing multiple frequencies(synthetic pulse) and multiple antennas(synthetic antenna). Improved signal to noise and signal to clutter performance is achieved by tayloring the illuminating waveform to propagation medium and target scattering characteristics. Methods discussed are wavefield matching, frequency and antenna diversity and△K ***,bistatic geometries are analysed and found to give much improved detection capability for low observable targets.

＜正＞In the paper there are given results of experiments on characteristics of flying tarets’ detection by bistatic radars along marine path 500 km long in frequency bands 10 cm,35 cm and 180 *** of measurements proved the possibility to detect targets in the zone of shadow—*** was suggested the method of the test aircraft flights with a retransmitter on board in order to fasten the estimation of expected probability of *** is investigated a physical statistical model of beyond-the-horizon radio line,is given numerical estimates of detection characteristics in the zone of shadow.

A Generalized likelihood ratio test （GLRT） is derived for adaptive detection of range and Doppler distributed *** clutter is modelled as a Spherically Invariant Random Process （SIRP） and its texture component is range dependent （heterogeneous clutter）.We suppose here that the speckle component covariance matrix is known or estimated thanks to a secondary data ***,unknown parameters to be estimated are local texture values,the complex amplitudes and frequencies of all scattering *** proposed detector assumes a priori knowledge on the spatial distribution of the target and has the precious property of Constant False Alarm Rate （CFAR） with the assumption of a known speckle covariance matrix or by the use of frequency agility.

＜正＞Motion compensation is a key step in inverse synthetic aperture radar（ISAR）*** paper first sets up the array model for ISAR imaging that clearly demonstrates the principle and possible methods for initial phase error *** effective autofocus method called calibrating source iteration algorithm（CASIA）is then presented to calibrate the initial phase ***, the real measured ISAR data of flying aircraft are processed to test the performance of CASIA and the imaging results confirm its validity.
