Application Status of Chinese Medicine on Cancer Rehabilitation: A Preliminary questionnaire survey

Objective:To investigate the application status of Chinese medicine(CM)in cancer rehabilitation,so as to provide references for improving the level of CM cancer ***:A survey questionnaire regarding"application status of CM rehabilitation in cancer patients"for oncologists(doctor version)and cancer patients(patient version)were developed,*** September 2014 to November 2016,a total of 1,000 doctors from oncology department in 48 hospitals and 2,000 cancer patients from CM oncology department from 8 hospitals in China were recruited in this *** psychological,nutrition and exercise rehabilitation guidance for cancer patients provided by doctors,their mastery conditions regarding cancer staging treatment and CM syndrome differentiation,and recommendation from doctors on CM rehabilitation were *** patients’awareness on the importance of psychological,nutrition and exercise rehabilitation,as well as their knowledge and needs for rehabilitation were also *** impact of gender,age,professional title,hospitals grades of physicians on their knowledge of cancer staging treatment and CM syndrome differentiation,and the relationship between gender,age,education level and economic conditions and patient’s knowledge along with the needs of CM rehabilitation were further ***:Totally 1,000 questionnaires were issued to doctors and 963 questionnaires returned,among which 948 were valid representing a response rate of 94.80%.A total of 2,000 questionnaires were issued to patients and 1,705 valid data finally returned with a response rate of 85.25%.The survey showed that cancer patients generally paid much attention to psychological,nutritional and sports rehabilitation,and had a strong demand for CM *** of CM rehabilitation was not well provided by oncologists,and the rehabilitation guidance as well as CM rehabilitation measures were obviously insufficient in cancer *** an

Farmers′ Perception to Farmland Conversion: A questionnaire survey in Xining City, Qinghai Province, China

China is experiencing a fast process of farmland conversion which is conducted mainly by local governments to fuel economic *** tension is aroused and policy makers take great concerns on coordinating interests among different stakeholders,especially for increasing farmers′ *** purpose of this study is to get some insights related to land acquisition institution by exploring farmers′ perception to farmland *** Rural Appraisal(PRA) was applied for the investigation in peri-urban area,of Xining City,Qinghai Province,*** total of 519 householders from 15 villages completed valid questionnaire survey from July to November,*** results indicate that farmland conversion has several impacts on farmers′ *** farmers are gradually adapting to city *** living expenses and more income are perceived by farmers with average score of 4.21 and 2.69,*** average scores of 2.38 and 2.46 are for improvement of life security and more job *** expect to get some stable ways of compensation in addition to lump-sum compensation in *** subsidies every year and obtaining same number of land received strong *** these two options are cited by 49.6% and 43.9% of *** conversion brings about cleaner living condition and more amenities,but lower air visibility and drier *** reflect landless farmers′ economic and life pressures and various *** government should pay more attention to increase farmers′ income and improve rural security system.

Knowledge about non-invasive diagnostic tests for varices in liver cirrhosis:A questionnaire survey to the Gastroenterology Branch of the Liaoning Medical Association,China

Background and aims:Due to the invasiveness of upper gastrointestinal endoscopy,non-invasive diagnostic tests for varices in liver cirrhosis have been widely established by numerous studies.A questionnaire survey,which was aimed at understanding the current knowledge about non-invasive diagnostic tests for varices in liver cirrhosis,was distributed among the members of Gastroenterology Branch of the Liaoning Medical ***:A questionnaire assessing the knowledge about non-invasive diagnostic tests for varices was sent to 42 members who participated in the entire ninth *** were from 33 hospitals in 13 cities of Liaoning Province,***:Overall,97.6%(41/42)of participants responded to the questionnaire.A majority of participants were chief physicians(85.4%),had>20 years of experience in clinical work of digestive diseases(80.5%)and worked at tertiary hospitals(97.6%).In 46.3%of participants’departments,there were>200 patients with liver cirrhosis and gastroesophageal varices admitted every *** 90.2%of participants’departments,upper gastrointestinal endoscopy was regularly employed for the diagnosis of gastroesophageal *** six(15%)participants often used non-invasive diagnostic tests for varices in clinical ***(75%)participants knew at least one non-invasive diagnostic test for *** knowledge of at least one non-invasive diagnostic test was significantly associated with the number of cirrhotic patients with varices(P¼0.038)or the regular use of gastrointestinal endoscopy to diagnose varices(P¼0.022).Conclusions:This questionnaire survey suggested that non-invasive diagnostic tests for varices in liver cirrhosis were rarely or never used in clinical practices in Liaoning Province,***,non-invasive indexes should be further explored in a well-designed multi-center observational study.

Background Pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD)has been widely applied in general hospitals in China;however,there is still a lack of unified standards for each surgical technique and *** survey is intended to investigate the current status of digestive tract reconstruction after PD in university hospitals in *** A cross-sectional survey was conducted among the members of the Young Elite Pancreatic Surgery Club of China by using the questionnaire for Digestive Tract Reconstruction after *** questionnaire was disseminated and collected by point-to-point communication via WeChat public *** A total of 73 valid questionnaires were returned from 65 university hospitals in 28 provincial divisions of China's *** respondents who performed PD surgery with an annual volume of over 100 cases accounted for 63%.Generally,laparoscopic PD was performed less often than open *** and Whipple reconstructions accounted for 70%and 26%,*** sequence of pancreatoenteric,biliary-enteric,and gastrointestinal reconstruction accounted for 84%of *** pancreatoenteric anastomosis,double-layer anastomosis is the most commonly employed type,accounting for approximately 67%,while single-layer anastomosis accounts for 30%.Of the double-layer anastomoses,duct-to-mucosa/dunking(94%/4%)PJ was performed with duct-mucosa using the Blumgart method(39%)and Cattel-Warren(29%),with continuous/interrupted sutures in the inner layer(69%/31%)and continuous/interrupted sutures in the outer layer(53%/23%).In single-layer anastomosis,continuous/interrupted sutures accounted for 41%/45%.In hepatojejunostomy,single-layer/double-layer suture accounted for 79%/4%,and continuous/interrupted suture accounted for 75%/9%.Forty-six percent of the responding units had not applied double-layer biliary-intestinal anastomosis in the last 3 years,75%of the responding surgeons chose the anastomosis method according to bile duct diameter,with absorbab

Seismic intensity around the epicentral area of the 2008 Wenchuan,Sichuan Province of China earthquake is estimated using a questionnaire survey conducted one month after the *** survey results show that the seismic intensity of Chengdu city is aboutⅦ,Beichuan County and Pengzhou Longmenshan Town aboutⅩ,and Dujiangyan City aboutⅨin MMI scale,above all are basically in agreement with the survey results of Chinese Earthquake Administration(CEA).The analysis results show that there are two subjective factors affecting the survey results of seismic intensity:one is the sexuality and the other is *** seismic intensity value by survey of men is often lower than the women'*** the surveyed people is elder than 60 years or younger than 19 years,the seismic intensity value by surveyed those people usually is higher than the others'.In general,the questionnaire survey is a good method to estimate the seismic intensity near to the populated area,but it is unsuitable in an unpopulated area.

A questionnaire survey on the management of Graves' orbitopathy in China:A comparison with Europe and Latin-America

Objective: Management of Graves' orbitopathy (GO) continues to be a challenge to clinical endocrinologists. In the last few years, surveys on GO management have succeeded in elucidating trends in Europe and Latin America. To determine how endocrinologists in China assess and treat patients with GO and gain insight into how to make the management of this disease more uniform and standardized. Methods: Based on the questionnaire used in the European survey on GO, a questionnaire in China was drafted and circulated to the members of Chinese Society of Endocrinology (CSE) during the annual meeting. Results: A total of 124 valid responses were analysed. Almost all respondents (94.4%) claimed that a multidisciplinary approach for GO management was valuable. Over 80% of the participants advocated the assessment of exophthalmometry, vision, visual fields by perimetry, eye movements, and fundoscopy. Glucocorticoids were preferred as the first-line therapy by 92.7% of respondents, among them, 59.7% choose the intravenous route. The treatment strategy for GO with intravenous glucocorticoids therapy still remains debatable. Anti-thyroid drugs (ATDs) were the most common choice (72.6%) for first-line therapy of coexisting hyperthyroidism. Treatment options for GO were very similar among Chinese, Latin-American and Eu-ropean respondents, whereas radioactive iodine and surgical treatment were more often indicated for co-existing hyperthyroidism in China. Conclusion: The appropriate treatment for patients with GO is controversial even among thyroid specialists. Further training of thyroid specialists, easier access of patients to multidisciplinary centres and establishment of practice guidelines are required for the management of this condition in China. Machine learning(ML)techniques and algorithms have been successfully and widely used in various areas including software engineering *** other software projects,bugs are also common in ML projects and *** order to more deeply understand the features related to bug fixing in ML projects,we conduct an empirical study with 939 bugs from five ML projects by manually examining the bug categories,fixing patterns,fixing scale,fixing duration,and types of *** results show that(1)there are commonly seven types of bugs in ML programs;(2)twelve fixing patterns are typically used to fix the bugs in ML programs;(3)68.80%of the patches belong to micro-scale-fix and small-scale-fix;(4)66.77%of the bugs in ML programs can be fixed within one month;(5)45.90%of the bug fixes belong to corrective activity from the perspective of software ***,we perform a questionnaire survey and send them to developers or users of ML projects to validate the results in our empirical *** results of our empirical study are basically consistent with the feedback from *** findings from the empirical study provide useful guidance and insights for developers and users to effectively detect and fix bugs in MLprojects.

Environmental pollution by persistent toxic substances and health risk in an industrial area of China

Soil is an important environmental medium that is closely associated with humans and their health. Despite this, very few studies have measured toxicants in soils, and associated them with health risks in humans. An assessment of health effects from exposure to contaminants in soils surrounding industrial areas of chemical production and storage is important. This article aims at determining pollution characteristics of persistent toxic substances （PTS） in an industrial area in China to unravel the relationship between soil pollution by PTS and human health. One hundred and five soil samples were collected and 742 questionnaires were handed out to residents living in and around an industrial area around Bohai Bay, Tianjin in Northern China. Concentrations of organochlorine pesticides and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons （PAHs） were determined in soil. Mann-Whitney U and binary multivariate non- conditional logistic regression models were employed to analyze the relationship between health indicators of local residents and contaminant levels. Odds ratio （OR） and a 95% confidence interval （CI） for health incidences were also calculated. The average concentrations of DDT （73.9 ng/g）, HCH （654 ng/g） and PAHs （1225 ng/g） were relatively high in the industrial area. Residents living in the chemical industry parks were exposed to a higher levels of PTS than those living outside the chemical industry parks. This exposure was associated with a higher risk of breast cancer （OR 1.87, 95% CI 0.12-30.06）, stomach cancer （OR 1.87, 95% CI 0.26- 13.41）, dermatitis （OR 1.72, 95% CI 1.05-2.80）, gastroenteritis （OR 1.59, 95% CI 0.94-2.68）, and pneumonia （OR 1.05, 95% CI 0.58-1.89）.

Downtown Retailing Development Under Suburbanization——A Case Study of Beijing

The role of retailing has diminished in the center of cities of Western countries since its heyday in the 1920s. This trend was caused by violent transformations in the economic, social and locational contexts which involve resi- dential suburbanization, as well as new forms of commercial development out of town. As far as transforming China is concerned, the downtown retailing center has also come to turning point of development in the context of suburbaniza- tion. Based on the survey of Beijing residents’ shopping behavior, the present research tends to making clear the actual change and development problem of downtown retailing center. Combining with the macro retailing environment, re- lated influencing factors are further discussed too. Study results show that downtown retailing still plays an important part in resident’s shopping activity. However, with rapid urban sprawl, retailing in urban center has been greatly threatened by booming out-of-town commerce. In the course of such spatial change, the suburbanization of resident, the prevalence of new commercial forms and the change of consumers’ life style all have exerted their own pressure on downtown retailing. But for the special socioeconomic background of development and the support of government policy, it will still keep its vitality of retailing for a long period of time.

Recreational Attractiveness of Urban Parks and Implications for Their Management:A Case Study in Changchun,China

Urban parks are an important part of urban ecosystems and also provide recreational services for urban ***,it is still unclear how the recreational attractiveness of urban parks can be *** this study,12 typical parks in Changchun,China were selected for evaluation of their recreational *** built a recreational attractiveness evaluation system based on the analytical hierarchy process(AHP)to produce a composite evaluation *** method included:1)the landscape quality of the parks;2)the recreational facilities;3)the conditions of the area;and 4)the accessibility of the *** results showed that Nanhu Park,Children’s Park,Shengli Park,and Jingyuetan Forest Park had high recreational attractiveness,whereas Linyuan Park had the lowest attractiveness among the 12 *** results agreed with the information obtained from a field survey of the actual recreational and revisit rates,which showed that the evaluation index is *** analysis showed that the landscape quality and recreational facilities of parks had a direct effect on their recreational attractiveness.A negative correlation was found between the accessibility of a park and its recreational *** conclude that if the scenery and facilities are not as good as a visitor expects,then they may choose to visit a different park,even if it takes a longer time to reach.
