We calculate numerically the optical chiral forces in rectangular cross-section dielectric waveguides for potential enantiomer *** study considers force strength and time needed for separating chiral nanoparticles,mainly via quasi-TE guided modes at short wavelengths(405 nm)and the 90°-phase-shifted combination of quasi-TE and quasi-TM modes at longer wavelengths(1310 nm).Particle tracking simulations show successful enantiomer separation within two *** results suggest the feasibility of enantiomeric separation of nanoparticles displaying sufficient chirality using simple silicon photonic integrated circuits,with wavelength selection based on the nanoparticle size.

Ionic liquids play an important role in many technological applications and a detailed understanding of their frontier molecular orbitals is required to optimize interfacial barriers,reactivity and stability with respect to electron injection and *** this work,we calculate quasiparticle energy levels of ionic liquids using first-principles many-body perturbation theory within the GW approximation and compare our results to various mean-field approaches,including semilocal and hybrid density-functional theory and *** find that the mean-field results depend qualitatively and quantitatively on the treatment of exchange-correlation effects,while GW calculations produce results that are in excellent agreement with experimental photoelectron spectra of gas phase ion pairs and ionic *** results establish the GW approach as a valuable tool for understanding the electronic structures of ionic liquids.

Through a detailed analysis,it is found out that a quasilattice can be considered as one consisting of several mutually incommensurate interpenetrating sublattices,each sublattice being a modulated crystalline *** modulation periods in one sublattice are given by the basic periodicities of the other *** analyzed is the approximant quasilattice whose sublattices being mutually *** the density wave picture,the combination of crystal structures into one quasicrystal(or approximant)phase can be done in a natural procedure.
