Pump pulse characteristics of quasi-continuous-wave diode-side-pumped nd:yag laser

The influence of pumping laser pulse on the property of quasi-continuous-wave(QCW)diode-side-pumped nd:yag laser is investigated theoretically and *** remaining a fixed duty cycle,the average output power increases,and the corresponding thermal focal length shorten with the increase of the pump pulse duration,which attributes to the decrease of the ratio of pulse buildup time to the pulse *** a pump power of 146 W,the laser output power changes from 65.1 W to 81.2 W when the pulse duration is adjusted from 150μs to 1000μs,confirming a significant enhancement of 24.7%.A laser rate equation model incorporating the amplified spontaneous emission is also utilized and numerically solved,and the simulated results agree well with the experimental data.

Influence of molybdenum on the microstructure and mechanical properties of TiC-TiB 2 reinforced metal matrix composite coatings

TiC reinforced nickel-based composite coatings with different molybdenum contents were in-situ fabricated on 316L steel by the pulsed nd:yag laser in order to solve the severe wear problem of biomass fired boiler *** 2 decomposed and formed several borides in composite *** microstructure and phase compositions of coatings were analyzed by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM),energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffractometry (XRD).It was found that the increase of molybdenum could create new binder phases and lessen deficiencies in the coatings,preventing the reinforcement from being pulled out of the matrices and leading to less delaminations during *** the addition of molybdenum improved the average hardness of composites,it could not improve the wear *** wear mechanisms of these composite coatings were further discussed in this paper.

laser Direct Writing of Ag Films from Solution on Si Substrate

pulsed nd:yag laser was used to irradiate Si substrate immersed in AgNO3 ethylene glycol solution to deposit Ag films along the lines scanned by laser on the substrate, which is a photo-thermal decomposing process. The decomposed Ag atoms congregate and form polycrystalline Ag particles. The Ag concentration changes greatly with the total laser energyA absorbed by substrate. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observation shows the Ag particles are inlaid in the Si substrate. Auger electron spectrum (AES) shows that the Ag concentration decreases with the increase of the sputtering depth, and there is no oxygen element on the surface of the deposited Ag films.
