Aimed to analyze the association between polymorphisms of prl gene with growth traits and flesh components in grass carp（Ctenopharyngodon idella）. Six variable sites, those mutation rate higher than 30% were detected in ten individuals via sequencing the full length of prl gene, including five SNPs and one insert mutation（-/CACTCACTA）, which named with 2551 G＞A, 2639 G/C, 3247 A＞G, 5197 T＞G, 5897 G＞A and 3391-/+, respectively. The polymorphisms of variable sites were tested in 192 juvenile C. idella using AS-PCR and STR genotyping technologies. Association between polymorphisms of loci with growth traits and flesh components was analyzed under GLM model. Results showed the polymorphisms of three loci（2639 G＞C, 3391-＞+ and 5197 T＞G） and one locus（2639 G＞C） were significantly associated with growth traits and flesh protein content, respectively（P＜0.05）. Multiple comparisons of traits were made for genotypes of each locus. The results showed that the standard length and body weight of individuals with mutant genotypes（-+ and ++） in 3391-＞+ were significantly higher than individuals with wild genotype（--） in 3391-＞+（P＜0.05）. In contrast, the standard length and body weight of individuals with mutant genotypes in 2639 G＞C（GC） and 5197 T＞G（TG and GG） were significantly lower than individuals with wild genotypes in 2639 G＞C （GG） and 5197 T＞G（TT）, respectively（P＜0.05）. For the flesh protein content, individuals with mutant genotype of CC in 2639 G＞C were significantly higher than individuals with other genotypes（GG and GC） in 2639 G＞C（P＜0.05）. Similar results were found in multiple comparisons of traits for pair-wise loci groups. Correlation between Single Nucleotide Polymorphism Detection of Intron 1 of prl gene with Body Size Traits in Jingjiang Partridge Duck

[Objective]The research aimed to study the polymorphism of intron 1 and its effects on prolactin（prl） gene and body size traits of Jingjiang Partridge Duck.[Method]Taking 96 Jingjiang partridge ducks as materials,the polymorphism of intron 1 of prl gene was detected by PCR-RFLP *** the relationship between the gene polymorphism and body size traits was analyzed.[Result]Intron 1 in prl gene of Jingjiang Partridge Duck had sequence *** kinds of genotypes（AB and BB） were detected by DraⅠrestriction and genotype BB was dominant in population（91.67%）.The results of Chi-square test indicated that this site was in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium in Jingjiang Duck（P 〉0.05）.The results of least square analysis showed that the ducks with AB genotype had larger pelvis breadth（P 〈0.01） but smaller chest measurement（P 〈0.05） than those of BB ducks.[Conclusion]It was preliminarily concluded that prl gene could be regarded as useful candidate gene（marker） for part of body size traits of Jingjiang Partridge Duck and part of body size traits can be improved by allele selection.

Lodging is more than just plants falling over;it incurs significant economic losses for farmers leading to a decrease in both yield and quality of the final *** management practices,such as dense sowing,excessive nitrogen fertilizer applications,inappropriate sowing dates,and upland rice cultivation,exacerbate the risk of lodging in *** breeders have developed high-yielding rice varieties utilizing the sd1 gene,relying solely on this gene is insufficient to enhance lodging *** the traits that contribute to lodging resistance is *** factors include biochemical,anatomical,and morphological traits,such as the levels of lignin,cellulose,hemicellulose,silicon,and potassium,along with the number and area of vascular bundles and the thickness,diameter,and length of the ***,markers associated with lodging-related genes,like SCM2,SCM3,SCM4,and prl4,can be utilized effectively in marker-assisted backcrossing to develop rice varieties with desirable culm *** literature review aims to aid rice breeders in addressing the issue of lodging by examining traits that influence lodging resistance,developing phenotyping strategies for these traits,identifying suitable instrumentation,exploring methods for screening lodging-resistant plants,understanding the mathematical relationships involved,and considering molecular breeding aspects for pyramiding genes related to lodging.
