Acupuncture price in forty-one metropolitan regions in the United States: An out-of-pocket cost analysis based on Ok ***

Few studies have focused on the cost of acupuncture treatments although acupuncture has become popular in the United States(U.S.). The purpose of the current study was to examine the out-of-pocket costs incurred from acupuncture services based on an online website, Ok ***. We examined descriptive statistics(range, median and 20% intervals) for the cost of acupuncture "first-time visits"and "follow-up visits" in 41 metropolitan regions in the U.S. The acupuncture prices of 723 clinics throughout 39 metropolitan regions were included, except for Birmingham, Alabama and Detroit, Michigan as there was no online data available at the time of the study for these two regions. The cost range for a first-time acupuncture visit was $15–400;the highest median was $150 in Charleston, South Carolina,while the lowest was $45 in St. Louis, Missouri. The top 10 cities for the highest median were:Baltimore, Washington, D.C., New York, San Francisco, San Jose, Boston, Atlanta, Seattle, Portland and Indianapolis, with the median $120, while the median for all 723 clinics was $112. For the follow-up visits,the cost range was $15–300;the highest median was $108 in Charleston, South Carolina, and the lowest$40 in Miami, Florida. The 10 cities with highest median follow-up acupuncture visit costs were: New York, Baltimore, New Orleans, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Boston and Atlanta, with the median $85, while for all 723 clinics the median price was $80. The estimation of the average gross annual income of each acupuncturist from the regions studied was $95,760, while the total annual cost of patients seeking acupuncture services in the U.S. was about $3.5 billion in 2018.

Finding accurate methods for estimating and mapping land prices at the macro-scale based on publicly accessible and low-cost spatial data is an essential step in producing a meaningful reference for regional planners.This asset would assist them in making economically justified decisions in favor of key investors for development projects and post-disaster recovery efforts.Since 2005,the Ministry of Land,Infrastructure,and Transport of Japan has made land price data open to the public in the form of observations at dispersed locations.Although this data is useful,it does not provide complete information at every site for all market participants.Therefore,estimating and mapping land prices based on sound statistical theories is required.This paper presents a comparative study of spatial prediction of land prices in 2015 in Fukushima prefecture based on geostatistical methods and machine learning algorithms.Land use,elevation,and socioeconomic factors,including population density and distance to railway stations,were used for modeling.Results show the superiority of the random forest algorithm.Overall,land prices are distributed unevenly across the prefecture with the most expensive land located in the western region characterized by flat topography and the availability of well-connected and highly dense economic hotspots.

Spatial Quantitative Analysis of Garlic price Data Based on ArcGIS Technology

In order to solve the hidden regional relationship among garlic prices,this paper carries out spatial quantitative analysis of garlic price data based on ArcGIS technology.The specific analysis process is to collect prices of garlic market from 2015 to 2017 in different regions of Shandong Province,using the Moran's Index to obtain monthly Moran indicators are positive,so as to analyze the overall positive relationship between garlic prices;then using the geostatistical analysis tool in ArcGIS to draw a spatial distribution Grid diagram,it was found that the price of garlic has a significant geographical agglomeration phenomenon and showed a multi-center distribution trend.The results showed that the agglomeration centers are Jining,Dongying,Qingdao,and Yantai.At the end of the article,according to the research results,constructive suggestions were made for the regulation of garlic price.Using Moran’s Index and geostatistical analysis tools to analyze the data of garlic price,which made up for the lack of position correlation in the traditional analysis methods and more intuitively and effectively reflected the trend of garlic price from low to high from west to east in Shandong Province and showed a pattern of circular distribution.

Downlink energy efficiency modeling and optimization with backhaul awareness and interference price in ultra cellular HetNet

The cellular heterogeneous network(HetNet) with ultra dense small cells is called ultra cellular HetNet.The energy efficiency for this network is very important for future green wireless communications.The data rates and power consumptions for three parts(i.e.,macro cells,small cells,and mixed backhaul links) in ultra cellular HetNet are jointly formulated to model downlink energy efficiency considering the active base stations(BSs) and inactive BSs.Then,in order to decrease the downlink co-channel interference,the interference price functions are also jointly set up for the three parts in ultra cellular HetNet.Next,energy efficiency optimization iterative algorithm scheme using the fractional programming and Lagrangian multiplier with constraints for density of ultra dense small cells and fraction of mixed backhaul links is presented with interference pricing.The convergence and computation complexity are also proved in this scheme.The numerical simulations finally demonstrate convergence behavior of the proposed algorithm.By comparison,some conclusion can be drawn.Maximizing energy efficiency of system is lower as the density of small cell is high.The effect on maximizing energy efficiency with interference price outperforms that without interference price.And the energy efficiency increases as the fraction of mixed backhaul links is higher because of more power consumption in the microwave backhaul links.

Tail Causality between Crude Oil price and RMB Exchange Rate

In this paper we assess the causal relationship between international crude oil price changes and the RMB exchange rate using daily information from 21 July 2005 to 5 April 2017.In addition to linear causality tests,we employ quantile causality test to.identify prior imperceptible causplity in quantiles.We find a causal relationship from crude oil price to exchange rate at each quantile interval,but the reverse only appears in tail.This may help to explain why a traditional linear test fails to capture the causality from exchange rate to crude oil price as the quantile causalities in tails are canceled out by each other:Moreover;using RMB as the settlement currency in crude oil trade can weaken the prior significant causal relationships between crude oil price and exchange rate,whereas the reform of exchange rate marketization reignites the tail causalities from exchange rate to crude oil price.These findings recommend a wider use of domestic currencies in crude oil trade to avoid risk from the crude oil market.

Farmers'Exit from Land Operation in Rural China:Does the price of Agricultural Mechanization Services Matter?

This study uses data covering 3,914 farm households,collected from Henan province in China,to investigate the links between the price of agricultural mechanization services and farmers'exit from land operation.The results indicate that the increasing price of agricultural mechanization services leads tofarmers leaving land operation,especially when the high sunk costs and the long-term breakeven period of self-owned machinery are considered.This effect is intensified by the rapid rural-urban migration in China.Further analysis reveals that the surge in service prices reduced land renting-in and encouraged non-grain production.Our analysis suggests that the agricultural mechanization service market in China tends to work against the survival of smallholder farmers.However,the price of agricultural mechanization services is conducive to eliminating less-productive farmers and cultivating new agricultural operators.

Optimal price-Based Power Control Algorithm with Quality of Service Constraints in Cognitive Radio Networks

In price-based cognitive radio networks,the Primary user(PU) can allow the Secondary users(SUs) to access by pricing if their interference power is under the Interference power constraint(IPC). The interaction between the PU and the SUs is modeled as a Stackelberg game with the consideration of the Quality of service(Qo S) of the SUs. The revenue maximization problem of PU is expressed as an equivalent convex optimization problem if the minimum Signal-to-interference and noise ratio(SINR) constraints for the SUs are greater than or equal to 0d B. An optimal pricing algorithm is proposed based on this equivalent convex optimization problem. Simulation results show that the proposed pricing algorithm outperforms the non-uniform pricing algorithm in terms of the revenue of the PU, the sum rate of SUs and the number of admitted SUs.

The Effect of the Interaction between price and Time Preference on Cigarette Consumption among Pregnant Women

In this study,I explore smoking behavior among pregnant U.S.women using the 1979 cohort of the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth.The key aspect of this study is the availability of smoking participation data before and during pregnancy.I consider the probabilities of smoking cessation while pregnant as the outcome.I find that pregnant women who smoke are less responsive to price changes when they are more future-oriented.Women who are more present-oriented are more likely to smoke and consume more cigarettes given that they smoke more than those who are future-oriented.Moreover,those who discount the future more heavily are more sensitive to the money price of cigarettes than those who are more future-oriented.I focus on the role of time preference and the interaction between time preference and price in determining these outcomes.

Short-sale refinancing and price adjustment speed to bad news: Evidence from a quasi-natural experiment in China

Short selling may accelerate stock price adjustment to negative news.However,the literature provides mixed evidence for this prediction.Using short-sale refinancing and a staggered difference-in-differences(DID)model,this paper explores the effect of short selling on stock price adjustment.Our results show that(1)short-sale refinancing improves the speed of stock price adjustment to negative news.This result holds after we control for endogeneity.(2)The positive relationship between short-sale refinancing and stock price adjustment speed is significant in subsamples of stocks with higher earnings management or lower accuracy of analyst forecasts,indicating that firms with more opaque information are more likely to be targeted by short sellers.In subsamples of stocks with a higher ownership concentration or lower ownership by institutional investors,short selling is more likely to increase the speed of stock price adjustment,indicating that ownership structure may influence negative news mining.(3)As short-sale refinancing exacerbates the absorption of bad news by stock prices,it increases crash risk.This study enriches the research on the economic consequences of short selling and provides empirical evidence supporting regulations on short selling in China.
