Research on the steam–gas pressurizer model with Relap5 code

Steam–gas pressurizers are self-pressurizing, and since steam and noncondensable gas are used to sustain their pressure, they experience very complicated thermal–hydraulic phenomena owing to the presence of the latter. A steam–gas pressurizer model was developed using Relap5 code to investigate such a pressurizer's thermal–hydraulic characteristics.The important thermal–hydraulic processes occurring in the pressurizer model include bulk flashing, rainout, wall condensation with noncondensable gas, and interfacial heat and mass transfer. The pressurizer model was verified using results from insurge experiments performed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It was found that noncondensable gas was one of the important factors governing the pressure response, and the accuracy of the developed model would change with different mass fractions and types of noncondensable gas.

A pressurizer （PRZ） mechanism model was employed for pressurized water reactor （PWR） nuclear power plant to meet rapid development of its simulation requirements. According to PRZ operational characteristics, the laws of energy conservation, mass and momentum conservation are used in obtaining a dynamic two-phase imbalance mechanism model which considering the influence of the spray flow, the power of electric heater as well as factors related to the safety valves. Particle Swarm Optimization （PSO） Algorithm was proposed to obtain a set of optimized parameters in the PRZ mechanism model. The parameter optimization algorithm was applied to a simulation case in PRZ of a 900MW PWR nuclear power plant, and a pressure simulation model was created by means of module packaging. By comparing the simulation results with the datum obtained by the PWR nuclear power plant, the correctness of modeling and the effectiveness of optimization methods were verified.

The data of pressurizer dynamic characteristics was obtained by the test on simulator. The test included disturbances of spray valve and electric heater power. The transfer function of the pressurizer pressure was established upon the data. The control system was simulated by the use of Simulink simulation package. The simulation result shows that the pressurizer model and its pressure control system are correct and have the reasonable dynamic trend. The pressurizer model can be used on other research.

＜正＞A dynamic two-phase imbalance mechanism model of pressurizer in pressurized water reactor（PWR） nuclear power plant was built based on some reasonable simplifications and basic assumptions.During the detailed reduction,the equations of energy conservation,mass and momentum conservation are used in obtaining a dynamic two-phase imbalance mechanism model. Considering the influence of the spray flow,heater and safety valve,a pressurizer system was also established upon the Star-90 simulation platform by means of module packaging.The two step disturbances of heater power and spray flow rate were used to test model’s dynamic characteristic while the pressurizer was at full running.The simulation results were compared with the original data obtained by a foreign PWR nuclear power plant simulator.The results show that the mechanism model of pressurizer has good dynamic performance and high accuracy.
