Accurate and seamless auxiliary services in the power market can guarantee smooth and continuous power system operation. China’s new round of power system reform has entered a critical period, and reform implementation requires comprehensive improvements in the maturity of the supporting auxiliary service market. This study reviews the development status and evolution path of the European unified power market and the US regional power market, provides experience for the development of China’s regional power market, then identifies the key influencing factors of auxiliary service trading mechanism design in regional power markets. To analyze the rationality of the auxiliary service trading evaluation index, this paper established an evaluation model for assessing regional power markets. Using combined weight optimization, the gray correlation TOPSIS method was applied to comprehensively evaluate auxiliary service trading in the regional power market. Finally, the application of the proposed evaluation method was briefly analyzed to examine four regional power markets in China and evaluate the effectiveness of current market construction in different regions and provide suggestions for future market construction.

The power market is a typical imperfectly competitive market where power suppliers gain higher profits through strategic bidding behaviors.Most existing studies assume that a power supplier is accessible to the sufficient market information to derive an optimal bidding strategy.However,this assumption may not be true in reality,particularly when a power market is newly launched.To help power suppliers bid with the limited information,a modified continuous action reinforcement learning automata algorithm is proposed.This algorithm introduces the discretization and Dyna structure into continuous action reinforcement learning automata algorithm for easy implementation in a repeated game.Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed learning algorithm.

Evaluation of electric power sales company’s credit under new power market reformation

Rubinstein model is widely used in bilateral negotiation problems, and in this paper it is used in the bilateral negotiations between large consumer and generating company in power market. In real market, there are several negotiation agents for one large consumer or one generating company, and thus different from traditional STS(Single-To-Single) model, MTM(Multi-To-Multi) model is used in this paper to describe the bilateral negotiations between large consumer and generating company. In Rubinstein model, the concession negotiation strategy is expressed by the discount factor, but in the bilateral negotiations between large consumer and generating company the motivation of concession is quite different from general problems. Then, based on above MTM model, the discount factor is defined according to the degree of completion and the negotiation round. Detailed strategy design is given in the paper and the results of numerical simulation also demonstrate the validity of proposed strategy.

With the rapid progress in the new power market reformation in China, electric power sales company’ credit is playing as a more important role in the power market. This paper takes electric sales company without grid occupation as an example to build a credit rating system;configure out the credit index weighted by AHP and purpose an overall credit rating model. Our study will provide some basis regulations of power market and help State Grid Corp. of China and other electric buyers to rate credit risk of electric power sales companies.

Currently,renewable energy generation has received more and more attention.This article focuses on wind energy generation,one of the renewable energy sources.Aiming at the intermittent and unpredictable wind power problems,according to the day ahead bidding mechanism in the power market,this paper introduces the energy storage system to maximize wind power merchants profit based on the newsvendor model.First,this paper focuses on the wind farms combined with storage system to put forward the optimal bidding decision of selling or buying electricity to the market one day in advance and the optimal bidding amount.Then,we analyze the relationship between the optimal bid amount and the market penalty price coefficient,government subsidy,storage system charge and discharge efficiency,and other parameters.Based on the analysis of various parameters,power generation companies can make reasonable bidding decisions and amount to maximize profits.

This paper examines the impact of power transmission network topology change on locational marginal price(LMP) in real-time power markets. We consider the case where the false status of circuit breakers(CBs) that bypass topology error processing can generate an incorrect power system network topology, subsequently distorting the results of the state estimation and economic dispatch.The main goal of this paper is to assess the economic impact of this misconfigured network topology on realtime LMP in an entire power system with network congestion. To this end, we start with our prior result, a simple and analytical congestion price equation, which can be applied to any single line congestion scenario. This equation can be extended to better understand the degree to which the LMP at any bus changes due to any line status error. Furthermore, it enables a rigorous analysis of the relationship between the change in LMP at any bus with respect to any line error and various physical/economical grid conditions such as the bidding prices for marginal generators and the locations of the congested/erroneous lines. Numerical examples on the impact analysis of this topology error are illustrated in IEEE 14-bus and 118-bus systems.

With the increased promotion of integrated energy power systems(IEPS),renewable energy and energy storage systems(ESS)play a more important role.However,the fluctuation and intermittent nature of wind not only results in substantial reliability and stability defects,but it also weakens the competitiveness of wind generation in the electric power market.Meanwhile,the way to further enhance the system reliability effectively improving market profits of wind farms is one of the most important aspects of Wind-ESS joint operational design.In this paper,a market-oriented optimized dispatching strategy for a wind farm with a multiple stage hybrid ESS is proposed.The first stage ESS is designed to improve the profits of wind generation through day-ahead market operations,the real-time marketbased second stage ESS is focused on day-ahead forecasting error elimination and wind power fluctuation smoothing,while the backup stage ESS is associated with them to provide the ancillary service.An interval forecasting method is adopted to help to ensure reliable forecast results of day-ahead wind power,electricity prices and loads.With this hybrid ESS design,supply reliability and market profits are simultaneously achieved for wind farms.
