Numerical Simulation of Upsetting a Cubic Sintered Iron powder Compact

This paper establishes a mechanical model for sintered powder metal material and simulates the material *** metal specimens were compacted, sintered and upset. Relative density and contour of the specimen were measured. The force displacement relationship during upsetting was recorded. The same upsetting process was simulated with 3-dimensional finite element method. In simulation, the cubic specimen was treated as a piece of metal embedded with pores. Its overall relative density was controlled via adjusting the concentration of the *** the virtual upsetting process, when the pores are compressed, material around the pores will be in touch with each other. This kind of self-contact effect was dealt with direct contact detecting method. Classical V. Mises principle and isotropic hardening rule were applied on the material. Simulation results agree with experimental.

Synthesis and structural characterization of Zn_3N_2 powder

Zinc nitride (Zn3N2) powder has been synthesized through the nitridation reaction of Zn powder with NH3 gas (at the flow rate of 500 ml/min) at the nitridation temperature of 600℃ for 120 min. X-ray diffraction (XRD) indicates that Zn3N2 is cubic in structure with the lattice constant being a = 0.9788 nm. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) show that Zn3N2 powder has surface morphology of various types. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) shows the differences in chemical bonding states between Zn3N2 and ZnO, and confirms the formation of N–Zn bonds. Observation through high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) also indicates that the computer simulation of the structure of Zn3N2 is consistent with the structural model put forward by Partin.

The NaNbO3 powders were synthesized and their crystal structure changes were analyzed by ultrahigh pressure up to 6 *** results indicate that the pure NaNbO3 powders can be synthesized at 300℃ under a pressure of 4 GPa, to sig- nificantly restrain the Na element volatilization compared with the traditional syn- thesis method. It is found that the crystal structure of synthesized NaNbO3 changes from low symmetry to high symmetry with the increase of the pressure.

ZnO and MnO_2 Doped PbTiO_3 Ceramics Prepared by Sol-gel Method

ZnO and MnO 2 doped PbTiO 3 nanometer powders have been prepared by using titanium butoxide (Ti(OC 4H 9) 4) and lead acetate (Pb(Ac) 2·3H 2O) as starting materials, acetic acid (HAc) and methanol (CH 3OH) as catalyst and solvent, respectively, and Zn(Ac) 2 and Mn(NO 3) 2 as dopants. High density and crack free PbTiO 3 ceramics were obtained. Electrical measurement indicates that the ceramics has lower dielectric constant, dielectric loss, and especially low surrounding moisture effect.
