Development of portable user-interactive holographic information collector for agricultural product markets

The efficient and accurate collection of agricultural product market information serves as the basis for the effective regulation of agricultural product *** achieve a comprehensive,accurate,and timely collection of agricultural product market information,this study puts forth a technique for collecting holographic information of agricultural product markets.A portable human-machine interaction device with an Advanced RISC(reduced instruction set computer)Machines(ARM)-based processor as the core is *** information such as agricultural product market trading time,trading place,product name,price,and trading volume can be *** embedded technology and component technology,innovative agricultural product market positioning,and matching,standardized collection,and data processing,and in combination with intelligent algorithms for analysis and early warning,a mobile application terminal for information collection is developed,namely,a holographic information collector for agricultural product markets(named Nongxincai).By using a layered structure,the hardware integrates microprocessor,storage,power,application and communication interface,and human-machine interaction *** device has the advantages of miniaturization,the whole-machine power consumption of less than 0.5 W,and continuous operating time of at least 10 h.A supporting software system for Nongxincai has also been developed,in which Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 is employed as the operating system,and the CPU frequency is up to 600 *** configuration fully meets the computing requirements of map processing and large-volume data processing and has high *** has been popularized and applied in 12 provinces/municipalities in *** has played an important role in the monitoring and early warning of different varieties of agricultural products and target prices of soybean and cotton.

In this paper, a novel portable intelligent electrocardiograph（ ECG） is designed which is low-cost, small size and easy to popularize. With AT89S52 single chip and LCD12864 monitor as its core controller and display instrument respectively, based on an improved signal processing and waveform detection method, the ECG is able to achieve real-time display of heart waveform and heart rate on its LCD. In particular, a secondary amplifying circuit that contains the high-pass, low-pass and band-stop filter circuits is proposed, which is low-power-consuming, highly-precise, and robust against various disturbances. Moreover, the detected ECG signal data can be stored automatically on a SD card for further analysis and diagnosis.

Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has emerged,rapidly spread and caused significant morbidity and mortality *** is an urgent public health need for rapid,sensitive,specific,and on-site diagnostic tests for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)*** this study,a fully integrated and portable analyzer was developed to detect SARS-CoV-2 from swab samples based on solid-phase nucleic acid extraction and reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification(RT-LAMP).The swab can be directly inserted into a cassette for multiplexed detection of respiratory pathogens without *** overall detection process,including swab rinsing,magnetic bead-based nucleic acid extraction,and 8-plex real-time RT-LAMP,can be automatically performed in the cassette within 80 *** functionality of the cassette was validated by detecting the presence of a SARS-CoV2 pseudovirus and three other respiratory pathogens,i.e.,Klebsiella pneumoniae,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,and Stenotrophomonas *** limit of detection(LoD)for the SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus was 2.5 copies/μL with both primer sets(N gene and ORF1ab gene),and the three bacterial species were successfully detected with an LoD of 2.5 colony-forming units(CFU)/μL in 800μL of swab ***,the analyzer developed in this study has the potential to rapidly detect SARS-CoV-2 and other respiratory pathogens on site in a“raw-sample-in and answer-out”manner.

Study of Numerical Analysis on Smoke Exhaust Performance of portable Smoke Exhaust Fan

In houses and general buildings of environment where smoke control equipment is not installed, or its operation is difficult, there is a need to develop and utilize a portable smoke exhaust fan that can perform emergency ventilation in case of fire suppression and rescue operations. As a part of the development process for portable smoke exhaust fans, a numerical analysis model of the portable smoke exhaust fan was derived from the building in which a fire occurred, and an analysis on the smoke and toxic gas exhaust effects was performed in this study. The numerical analysis results showed that under a condition where the height of an opening is less than 1.0 m after fire source disappears in a situation where the smoke exhaust fan does not operate, smoke does not come out well, and thus the density of smoke within the target area does not drop significantly. On the other hand, if the smoke exhaust fan operates after the fire source disappears, smoke is directly exhausted to the outside due to the operation of the smoke exhaust fan, and the smoke density within the space drops sharply in all opening height conditions, thereby getting close to zero.

New Traveling-Wave Antenna Resonating at 6 GHz Based on Artificial Transmission Line Metamaterial Structures for RF portable Devices

Design of new metamaterial (MTM) traveling-wave antenna with “d-formed” left-handed structure is proposed. The proposed MTM structure is designed at a height of 0.8 mm from the ground plane with almost 2 GHz bandwidth. The most interesting feature of the design is the ability of enhancing the gain and total efficiency of the antenna without negative effects of the other important parameters like bandwidth. By using the “d-shaped” MTM structure and printed planar technique, the bandwidth of the MTM traveling-wave antenna is significantly increased at a resonant frequency of 6 GHz and also a foot print area reduction of the antenna structure is provided. Antenna size is 7.2 × 5 × 0.8 mm3. The proposed antenna is suitable for RF portable devices operating at 6 GHz.

Design of Experiment (DoE): Implementation in Determining Optimum Design Parameters of portable Workstation

In the modern era of manufacturing, it is important to optimize every design parameter in product development stage to reduce cost, material usage and to achieve the desired efficacy level. There are various models which serve those purposes, for instance, Design of Experiment (DoE) is used to check the parameters after adopting optimization tactics which results in reduced cost or saving operating time. In this regard, this research aims to construct a DoE model on a portable workstation to optimize its design parameters. The methodology of DOE would be a 2 level 3 factors full factorial DOE which is conducted to determine the optimal value for three design parameters (factors) which are material density, the length of the table and the length of the table stand in terms of the response which is the required time of fold ability function of the portable workstation. Based upon the evaluated interactions between the parameters, the optimized parameters are chosen for responses. Here, the resultant design parameters are at their lowest level, so the goal of time efficiency in fold ability function is achieved. This similar sort of DoE can be implemented in the furniture and other manufacturing industries who wish to optimize their material usage as well as increase efficiency and reduce cycle time.

Automatic Detection and Measurement of Fetal Biparietal Diameter and Femur Length —Feasibility on a portable Ultrasound Device

An automatic method able to recognize a presented section through the biparietal plane of the fetal head and a section through the fetal femur in ultrasound images is developed. Once the correct anatomical section for measurement is identified by the machine, the placement of the measurement calipers is automatically determined by fitting an active contour model to the structure of interest. The fetal biparietal diameter (BPD) and femur length (FL) are then measured automatically. The validation data set contained 167 and 197 B-mode images for BPD and FL measurements, respectively. The images were acquired using 4 different ultrasound scanners, which resulted in varied image quality and gain settings. The mean gestational age (GA) of the fetuses was 19.4 weeks, range 16 to 41 weeks. A measurement success rate of 90% was achieved for both BPD and FL. The correlation coefficients between the manual and automatic measurements were 0.995 (BPD) and 0.967 (FL), mean errors were 0.5 mm (BPD) and -1.7 mm (FL) and error range with 95% confidence interval (CI) were ﹣3.8 - 4.8 mm (BPD) and ﹣11.4 - 8.1 mm (FL). The automatic measurement results were consistent in both high and low gain settings. The intraclass correlation coefficients between manual and automatic measurements were 0.995 (95% CI;0.981 - 0.999) for BPD in high gain, 1.0 (95% CI;0.998 - 1.0) for BPD in low gain, 0.998 (95% CI;0.991 - 0.999) for FL in high gain and 0.999 (95% CI;0.996 - 1.0) for FL in low gain settings. The method was implemented on a prototype, portable ultrasound machine designed to be used in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). The overall performance of the method supports our hypothesis that automated methods can be used and are beneficial in a clinical setting.
