Ultra High Early Strength Self-compacting Mortar Based on Sulfoaluminate Cement and Silica Fume

The influences of silica fume and aluminum sulfate on hydration process of sulfoaluminate cement were carried out by ring flow, setting time, hydration heat, XRD and DTG analyses. In addition, mortar mixtures with different functional additives have been studied through compressive strength, flexural strength, volume stability at early age and porosity characterization tests. The results show that the addition of silica fume and aluminum sulfate reduces the fluidity and shortens the setting time of sulfoaluminate cement paste, promoting hydration process and increasing hydration products at early age. In the case of appropriate proportion of mortar, the inclusion of hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose, dispersible polypropylene fiber arid organic silicon kind of defoamer can control segregation and bleeding, improve mechanical strength and volume stability at early age, and modify the pore distribution of sulfoaluminate cement mortar, respectively. The sulfoaluminate cement mortar can carry out gravitational grouting in the absence of outside force, the compressive strength of 2 hours and 24 hours have reached 26 and 58 MPa respectively, and have good micro- expansion and tiny.pore distribution characterization.

The workability, activity and acid-corrosion resistance of the slag-substituted cements are investigated, the activation of gypsum is discussed also the porosity and pore distribution of mortars of the slag micropowders cement are determined by mercury intrusion porosimetry.

Durability of High Performance Color Hardener

The properties of high performance color hardener (HPCH) and the mechanism were studied.HPCH is a composite system, which is composed of cementitious and auxiliary cementing materials, composite additives, abrasion resistance component (aggregate) and pigment. The porosity and pore structure of the material are obviously improved due to the activation, filling and adsorption of auxiliary cementing materials, thus resulting in a great increase of binding capacity for ions in HPCH and the obstacles of ion migrating.The density of material structure, bonding capacity of cementitious material to the abrasion-resisting component and the corrosion resistance are greatly and effectively improved by adding the auxiliary cementing materials and compound additives. According to the tests of dry shrinkage, sulphate resistance, chloride permeability and Ca(OH) 2 content distribution, the property superiority of HPCH is analyzed.The mechanism of materials modification of HPCH is explained from the microscopic point of view by testing the pore structure and pore distribution via the mercury intrusion pressure method.

Impact of Bauxite on Performance and Structure of SiC-mullite Brick

SiC- mullite brick is widely used in the upper and lower transitional zones of cement rotary kilns, due to excellent thermal shock resistance, and abrasion resist- ance. The investigation of different bauxites was made on the performance and micro-structure of SiC - mullite brick, especially thermal shock resistance. In two batches of bricks （ G1 and G2 ） , and two grades of bauxites （ L1 and I_2 ）, samples＇ physical and chemical properties were tested, and microstructure and phase composition were studied by SEM and XRD. The results show that raw material I2, containing large numbers of micro- pores smaller than 4 μm, has well developed mullite phase. While using L2 as aggregates and flues, SiC- mullite brick G2 has excellent thermal shock resistance. Therefore, for manufacture of SiC - mullite brick, not only chemical composition, bulk density and open porosi- ty of bauxite are important, but also its microstructure has to be considered, such as phase composition, crystal size and pore size distribution.
