Ellipticity-dependent ionization yield for noble atoms

The photoionization in the frame of the Ammosov-Delone-Krainov theory has been theoretically examined for noble gases,argon,krypton,and xenon,in an elliptically polarized laser *** consider the intermediate range of the Keldysh parameter,γ~1,and analyze the influence of shifted ionization potential and temporal profile to eliminate disagreement between theoretical and experimental *** including these effects in the ionization rates,we solve rate equations in order to determine an expression for the ionization *** use of modified ionization potential shows that the ionization yields will actually decrease below the values predicted by original(uncorrected)*** paper will discuss the causes of this discrepancy.

SPACE-CHARGE WAVE THEORY OF FREE-ELECTRON LASER

The linear theory of free-electron laser (FEL) is established by means of the spacecharge wave theory. Equations for space-charge waves in FEL with magnetostatic wiggler have been derived and solved. The space-charge density waves and the current waves have been obtained, and the differences between these waves and the conventional space-charge waves are discussed in detail. Using these space-charge waves, the dispersion equations of FEL have been derived, and some special cases are analyzed. A new concept and suggestion are presented.
