Distributed Model Predictive Control for Networked plant-wide Systems With Neighborhood Cooperation

For large-scale networked plant-wide systems composed by physically(or geographically) divided subsystems, only limited information is available for local controllers on account of region and communication restrictions. Concerning the optimal control problem of such subsystems, a neighbor-based distributed model predictive control(NDMPC) strategy is presented to improve the global system performance. In this scheme, the performance index of local subsystems and that of its neighbors are minimized together in the determination of the optimal control input, which makes the local control decision also beneficial to its neighboring subsystems and further contributes to improving the convergence and control performance of overall system.The stability of the closed-loop system is proved. Moreover, the parameter designing method for distributed synthesis is provided.Finally, the simulation results illustrate the main characteristics and effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

In order to predict the production indices of gold hydrometallurgical process, such as the gold production, the leaching rate, the precipitation rate and the grade of gold mud, it is very necessary to establish an accurate plant-wide model of the gold hydrometallurgical process. A plant-wide mechanism model is proposed for description and analysis of the gold hydrometallurgical process in this paper, and the mean-square convergent particle swarm optimization（PSO） algorithm is applied for indentifing the main parameters of model. Simulation results indicate that the proposed model has a better prediction performance in gold hydrometallurgical process, and it lays an important model foundation for the plant-wide optimization and control of gold hydrometallurgical process.

Steel production involves the transfer and transformation of material and energy at different levels, structures, and scales, and this process incurs substantial information in the material and energy dimensions. Given the black-box feature of iron and steel production processes, process visualization plays an important role and inevitably benefits parameter correction, technical support decision-making, personnel training, and other aspects of the steel metallurgy industry. The technological characteristics of the entire process in the steel industry were analyzed in this study, a visualization technology route based on virtual reality(VR) was built, and the important components of visual simulation system for steel industry and the important technical points needed to realize the system were proposed. On the foundation, a visual simulation model for the process scheduling of the iron and steel enterprise raw materials' field, slab, and hot rolling processes was built, and a visualization simulation platform of the iron and steel metallurgy plant-wide process, including ironmaking, steelmaking, hot rolling, and cold rolling, was developed. Lastly, the effectiveness of platform was illustrated by practical application.

Recent Progress on Data-Based Optimization for MineralProcessing plants

In the globalized market environment, increasingly significant economic and environmental factors withincomplex industrial plants impose importance on the optimization of global production indices; such opti-mization includes improvements in production efficiency, product quality, and yield, along with reductionsof energy and resource usage. This paper briefly overviews recent progress in data-driven hybrid intelli-gence optimization methods and technologies in improving the performance of global production indicesin mineral processing. First, we provide the problem description. Next, we summarize recent progress indata-based optimization for mineral processing plants. This optimization consists of four layers： optimiza-tion of the target values for monthly global production indices, optimization of the target values for dailyglobal production indices, optimization of the target values for operational indices, and automation systemsfor unit processes. We briefly overview recent progress in each of the different layers. Finally, we point outopportunities for future works in data-based optimization for mineral processing plants.
