The existing research of welding arc mainly focuses on the stable combustion state and the research on the mechanism of welding arc ignition process is quite *** tungsten inert gas（TIG） touch arc ignition process is observed via a high speed camera and the high time resolution spectral diagnosis *** changing phenomenon of main ionized element provided the electrons in the arc ignition is *** metallic element is the main contributor to provide the electrons at the beginning of the discharging,and then the excitated shielding gas element replaces the function of the metallic *** electron density during the period of the arc ignition is calculated by the Stark-broadened lines of Hα.Through the discussion with the repeatability in relaxation phenomenon,the statistical regularity in the arc ignition process is *** similar rules as above are observed through the comparison with the laser-assisted arc ignition experiments and the metal inert gas（MIG） arc ignition *** research is helpful to further understanding on the generation mechanism of welding arc ignition and also has a certain academic and practical significance on enriching the welding physical theoretical foundation and improving the precise monitoring on automatic arc welding process.

Rheological mechanical properties and its constitutive relation of soft rock considering influence of clay mineral composition and content

Rheological mechanical properties of the soft rock are afected signifcantly by its main physical characteristics-clay *** this study,taking the mudstone on the roof and foor in four typical mining regions as the research object,frstly,the clay mineral characteristic was analyzed by the X-ray difraction ***,rheological mechanical properties of mudstone samples under diferent confning pressures are studied through triaxial compression and creep *** results show that the clay mineral content of mudstone in diferent regions is diferent,which leads to signifcant diferences in its rheological properties,and these diferences have a good correlation with the content of montmorillonite and illite-montmorillonite mixed *** the montmorillonite content as an example,compared with the sample with 3.56%under the lower stress level,the initial creep deformation of the sample with 11.19%increased by 3.25 times,the viscosity coefcient and longterm strength decreased by 80.59%and 53.94%,***,based on the test results,the damage variation is constructed considering the montmorillonite content and stress level,and the M–S creep damage constitutive model of soft rock is ***,the test results can be ftted with determination coefcients ranging from 0.9020 to 0.9741,which proves that the constitutive relation can refect the infuence of the clay mineral content in the samples *** study has an important reference for revealing the long-term stability control mechanism of soft rock roadway rich in clay minerals.

Summer fast ice evolution off Zhongshan Station,Antarctica

Based on the field data acquired in the program of fast ice observation off Zhongshan Station, Prydz Bay, East Antarctica during the austral summer 2005/ 2006, physical properties evolution of fast ice during the ice ablation season is analyzed in detail. Results show that the annual maximum ice thickness in 2005 occurred in later November, and then ice started to reek, and the ablation duration was 62 days; sea water under the ice became warmer synchronously; corresponding to the warming sea ice temperature, a ＂relative cold mid-layer＂ appeared in sea ice; the fast ice marginal line recoiled back to the shore observably, and the recoil distance was 20.9 km from 18 December 2005 through 14 January 2006. In addition, based on the data of sea ice thickness survey along the investigation course of MV Xuelong on December 18 of 2005, the ice thickness distribution paten in the marginal ice zone have been described ： sea ice thickness increased, but the diversity of floe ice thick-ness decreased from open water to fast ice zone distinctly.

The paper calculates and analyzes physical and chemical characteristics of total suspended particles （TSP）, including mass concentration, absorption coefficient, optical refraction index imaginary unit and chemical composition based on observational data of atmosphere aerosol in Xi＇an and Nanjing from 1997 to 1999. Enrichment characteristic of TSP elements and sources of pollution are discussed via statistical treatment of enrichment factor of elements and correlation analysis. The result shows that aerosol particles exist remarkable differences in physical and chemical. The highest enrichment in TSP is Pb, Zn, S and As, which comes from different kinds of pollution.
