The worldwide distribution and extensive genetic diversity of the whitefly,Bemisia tabaci,has long been ***,the levels of separation within *** and the nomenclature of the various genetic groups have been a subject of *** phylogenetic analyses indicate that *** is a complex composed of 28 morphologically indistinguishable *** this article,we first review the debate and difficulties associated with ***＇s taxonomy and systematics,and argue for the need to apply the biological species concept in order to elucidate ***＇s *** summarize the accumulated genetic and behavioural data on reproductive incompatibilities evident amongst phylogenetic mtCOI groups of *** studies have been conducted with 14 of the 28 putative species covering 54 reciprocal inter-species pairs,and observations on mating behaviour have been conducted for seven species *** from both crossing trials and behavioural observations indicate a consistent pattern of reproductive isolation among the putative *** then discuss the technical and conceptual complexities associated with crossing experiments and behavioural observations designed to reveal reproductive ***,we elaborate on a strategy for further clarifying the pattern of reproductive isolation between *** groups and propose future research directions on the systematics of this complex.

The genus Phylloporus (Boletaceae, Boletales) from China: morphological and multilocus DNA sequence analyses

species of the genus Phylloporus in China were investigated based on morphology and molecular phylogenetic analysis of a three-locus(nrLSU,ITS and tef-1a)DNA sequence ***-one phylogenetic species were recognized among the studied *** of them are described as new:***,***,***,***,***,***,and *** addition,four of them correspond with the previous morphology-based taxa:***,***,***,and *** remaining ten phylogenetic species were not described due to the paucity of the materials.A key to the Chinese morphologically recognizable taxa was provided.A preliminary biogeographical analysis showed that(1)Pylloporus species in East Asia and Southeast Asia are mostly closely related,(2)species pairs or closely related species of Phylloporus between East Asia and North/Central America are relatively common,and(3)the biogeographic relationship of Phylloporus between East Asia and Europe was supported by only a single species ***,no taxa common either to both Europe and East Asia,or to both East Asia and North/Central America,were *** look to have taxa from both sides of the Pacific and Europe/Asia though.

Exposing hidden diversity by concordant genealogies and morphology—a study of the Lactifluus volemus(Russulales)species complex in Sikkim Himalaya(India)

Although Sikkim belongs to one of the Global Biodiversity Hotspots,little is known about its ectomycorrhizal fungi,and even less about the main genera of Russulales,***,Lactifluus,Multifurca and *** a multilocus genealogical and morphological study,we aimed to document the diversity within Lactifluus volemus sensu lato of Sikkim *** compared nuclear ITS and LSU rDNA,nuclear rpb1 and rpb2 protein-coding,and mitochondrial atp6 protein-coding genealogies to determine species *** relationships were inferred from the combined *** and maximum likelihood single-locus genealogies are concordant and support recognition of six *** of these could be identified by unique morphological characteristics and are described as new species:***,*** and ***.
