Tissue engineering scaffolds made of conventional aliphatic polyesters are inherently non-fluorescent,which results in their in vivo degradation hard to be visualized.photoluminescent biodegradable polyorganophosphazenes(PPOPs)are synthesized by introducing fluorophores onto the polyphosphazene backbone via nucleophilic substitution reaction.In this study,a fluorophore(termed as TPCA),derived from citric acid and 2-aminoethanethiol,was co-substituted with alanine ethyl ester onto the polyphosphazene backbone to obtain a photoluminescent biodegradable POPP(termed as PTA).The scaffolds made of PTA demonstrated non-cytotoxicity and cell affinity,particularly,capacity in promoting osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells(BMSCs).In vivo evaluations using the rat calvarial defect model confirmed its strong potential in enhancing osteogenesis,more importantly,the in vivo degradation of the PTA scaffold could be monitored via its fluorescence intensity alongside implantation time.

Praseodymium doped lithium yttrium molybdate Li Y1-8x Pr x（Mo O4）2（x=0.005-0.025） phosphors were successfully prepared by the hydrothermal method. The phase, morphology, and luminescent property of the prepared phosphors were investigated by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The results indicated that doping of Pr^3＋ ions did not change the main phase of the phosphors. The samples emitted red luminescence upon excitation at 453 nm and the strongest emission peak corresponding to the characteristic transition of the Pr3＋ ion： 3P0→3F2 was observed at 657 nm. Li Y（Mo O4）2：Pr^3＋ red phosphors could be effectively excited by blue light emitting-diodes to emit red light; thus, acting as potential candidates for compensating the red light deficiency of cerium doped yttrium aluminum garnet yellow phosphor.

Two zinc complexes, [Zn(MPIP)Cl2](1) and [Zn(EPIP)Cl2](2), where MPIP = 1-(methoxymethyl)-3-(pyridin-2-yl)imidazo[1,5-a]pyridine and EPIP = 1-(ethoxymethyl)-3-(pyridin-2-yl)imidazo[1,5-a]pyridine, were synthesized under solvothermal conditions. The etheric ligand MPIP was formed in situ via metal ligand reaction between(3-(pyridin-2-yl)imidazo[1,5-a]pyridin-1-yl)methanol(HPIPM) and methanol solvent. Similarly, the ligand EPIP was generated in situ from the reaction of HPIPM with ethanol solvent. The structures of 1 and 2 were characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis. They are four-coordinated mononuclear complexes, and the ZnII ion of 1 and 2 displays distorted tetrahedral geometry. The photoluminescent properties of 1 and 2 were investigated. Strong emissions were observed for both 1 and 2, which were ascribed as the intraligand(π-π*) fluorescent transitions. This paper provides a simple and efficient method for the synthesis of etheric compounds.

Two metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) of formulae [Co7(L)3(4,4′-BPy)2(OH)2(H2O)6]·-4 H2O(1) and [Cd2(L)(2,2′-BPy)2]n(2, H4L = 5-(3,5-dicarboxybenzyloxy)-isophthalic acid,2,2′-BPy = 2,2?-bipyridine, 4,4′-BPy = 4,4′-bipyridine) were synthesized under solvothermal conditions. The structures of 1 and 2 were characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis.In complex 1, six cobalt atoms were connected by oxygen atoms to form a defect dicubane structure. The defect dicubane structures were further linked by Co(4,4?-BPy) units to generate a3-D network structure. Compound 2 displays a 2-D chain structure. The photoluminescent property of complex 2 is investigated. The results show the exclusive luminescence emission bands being originated from intraligand π-π^* transitions.

Solvothermal reactions of MnCl_2·4H_2O with(pyridin-2-yl)methyl 4-(2-(4-((pyridin-2-yl)methoxy)phenyl)diazenyl)benzoate(L1) via an in situ ligand transformation reaction produced a new coordination polymer, {[Mn_(2.5)Cl_3L_2(H_2O)]·H_2O}_n(1, where HL = 4-(2-(4-((pyridin-2-yl)methoxy)phenyl)diazenyl)benzoic acid). The L1 ligand was decomposed in situ to L^- which was coordinated with Mn(Ⅱ) to form compound 1 in the solvothermal synthesis process. Complex 1 was characterized by IR spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction and single-crystal X-ray diffraction.Compound 1 possesses a 2D network. In addition, stability and photoluminescent property of 1 were also investigated.

A new cadmium（Ⅱ） coordination polymer with unique structure was synthesized under diffusion process by employing triangular N-containing ligand tris（4-（pyridyl） phenyi） amine （Tppa）. Complex 1 crystallizes in the space group Pbcn, with a = 28.906（3）, b = 13.5294（14）, c = 17.8727（18） A, V= 6989.7（12） A^3, C66H48CdCl2N8, Mr = 1136.42, De = 1.080 g/cm^3, F（000） = 2328, μ= 0.428 mm^-1 and Z = 4. Complex 1 features a 2D → 3D framework with the coexistence of inclined polycatenation and polythreading. In addition, the luminescent property of complex 1 was studied.

By the reaction of cadmium chloride with a reduced Schiff base ligand （H2L= N-（4- carboxybenzyl）-glycine）, a novel Cd（Ⅱ） compound [Cd（HL）2]·4H2O （1） has been obtained. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that it crystallizes in orthorhombic, space group Pbcn with a = 13.9788（8）, b = 24.4204（14）, c = 13.9580（8） A, V= 4764.8（5） A^3, Z = 8, Mr = 600.84, Dc = 1.675 g/cm^3,/z = 0.983 mm^-1, F（000） = 2448, S = 1.084, R = 0.0806 and wR = 0.1705 （I〉 2a（1））. It displays a 2D two-fold interpenetrating structure. The Cd（Ⅱ） ions are six-coordinated. The cross-linkage of Cd（Ⅱ） ions by the bridge of HL anions results in a [Cd（HL）2] layer. Every two [Cd（HL）2]n layers are penetrated with each other, resulting in a two-fold interpenetrating double-layer structure by π-π stacking interactions and hydrogen bonds. Such double-layers are further linked by hydrogen bonds into a supramolecular structure. photoluminescent investigation shows that compound 1 displays strong emission in the purple region.

A novel metal-organic complex [La（o-NCP）3]n （o-HNCP = 2-（2-carboxyphen- yl）imidazo（4,5- f）（1,10）-phenanthroline） has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared analysis and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. The complex crystallizes in triclinic, space group P1 with a = 9.898（2）, b = 16.193（3）, c = 16.909（3） A, a = 67.68（3）, β = 80.85（3）, y = 78.78（3）°, V= 2448.2（8） A3, Z = 2, Mr = 1156.9, Dc = 1.569 g/cm3,μ = 0.71073 A, F（000） = 1164, GOOF = 1.065, the final R = 0.051 and wR = 0.123 for 8539 observed reflections with I 〉 2o（I）. The complex exhibits a one-dimensional double chain structure. The adjacent chains are further connected by N-H...N hydrogen bonds which help to form a two-dimensional suprarnolecular architecture. Furthermore, the complex exhibits excellent thermal stability and luminescent property.

Construction of [Cu_nI_n]-based coordination polymers via flexible benzimidazolyl-based ligands

The dye molecule 1,2,4,5-tetra(4-pyridyl)benzene(bztpy), a tetradentate ligand, can be an excellent candidate to construct coordination polymers with photoluminescent properties. Here, three novel complexes that based on Ag and bztpy, named [Ag(bza)(μ-bztpy)](1), [Ag(μ-ipa)(μ-bztpy)]·EtOH·3HO(2) and [Ag(pda)(μ-pda)(μ-bztpy)]·3 EtOH·6 HO(3)(Hbza = benzoic acid, Hipa = isophthalic acid and Hpda = 2,4-pyridinedicarboxylic acid), has been synthesized by the assistant of the auxiliary carboxylates. The choice of the carboxylates was found to have a pronounced effect on the framework topology. Structural analysis reveal that there are [Ag(bztpy)]n ladders as basic frame and the change of interconnected auxiliary ligands from Hbza to Hpda lead to the formation of 1D, 2D and 3D structures, respectively. In addition, Compound 2 and 3 both show new found(3,4)-connected topology. They were further characterized by elemental analysis, IR, single-crystal X-ray diffraction and luminescence study.

Four new [CunIn]-based coordination polymers, [{Cu4(μ3-I)4(mbbm)2}·2DMF]n (1), [(CuI)2(mbbm)2]n (2), [{Cu2(μ-I)2-(ebbm)2}·2MeCN]n (3), and [Cu2(μ-I)2(prbbm)2]n (4), were prepared from solvothermal reactions of CuI with three flexible ligands [(bzim)(CH2)n(bzim)] (bzim = benzimidazole; n = 1, mbbm; n = 2, ebbm; n = 3, prbbm). These compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and X-ray crystallography. 1 consists of cubanelike [Cu4(μ3-I)4] fragments that link the neighboring ones via mbbm bridges to form a 1D ladder-type chain. 2 contains mononuclear [CuI] fragments that are bridged by mbbm ligands to yield a 1D zigzag chain. 3 or 4 contains a [Cu2(μ-I)2] dimeric fragment, which works as a four-connecting node to link its four equivalent ones to form a 2D (4,4) network (3) or acts as a two-connecting node to connect its two equivalent ones via two pairs of prbbm bridges to form a 1D double chain (4). The photoluminescent properties of 1-4 in the solid state at ambient temperature were investigated.
